With only 4million BTC left to mine, there is no way a gubmint is going to adopt it as their currency since they will never have control over it. They will create their own if digital is the only way, and even then, CC's and digital bank transfers will be "the thing" first since they can track all movement of funds. IF (<-BIG IF) everyone on Earth had the same ideological stance as some people around here, then Bitcoin can fully take over. But most people need someone other than themselves to blame if their money *Poof* disappears from their "safe keeping".

Maybe few countries will adopt bitcoin as an official currency by that time
