I am running 240v to the psus. no matter what i do they are overheating when i hook them up to this s7. I have tried switching to a diff psu. same issue. i have tried switch PDU /' source same issue. Please help. thank god its not frying my psu's

Everything was fine when i boxed them up i took them out of storage a month later and now this. What do i do? The red light on the back just keeps flashing. the unit keeps beeping. and the PSU is VERY hot. please help. i feel like i am screwed.

what freq is your s-7 set to?

if at stock simply lower the freq  if stock is 650 go to 550  if it overheats after the down clock let us know.

ps it would help to know what you use for a psu

A picture of your layout would be helpful. PSUs too close (and 'close' is actually quite far) to intakes or exhausts have their airflow ruined.

Ok so unit 1 (the unit we are discussing) Is running stock psu. I am changing freq now. Will report back! :)


Ok so unit 2 having massive problems. All boards are hashing. Will start running at 4.7th then will drop to like 1.3-2 and jsust sit there. Everything says hashing.



I have the PSU's sitting on top of the units I am using bitmain psu's. I had them on top before in my old place, but i had them next to the deck breezeway so much more air. Pretty sure dogie is spot on.


How do I move my psu's further? Bitmains cords are so fking short. Help??

I dont really think there would be an issue with the default setup. Issues like that would probably be related to the a psu being crap, built with third tier components. If the PSU intake is extremely hot, then maybe it would be a temporary heat issues, but i think the S7 would overheat before the PSU.

You can always get a laser thermometer and check, if you think its a conditional issue.

yes i think its the unit overheating not the psu. I will move both away and test today. Was up 2 days straight working. Have a date today with a nice girl to go checkout the hydro dam.

What is heat in mining area?   If you have two S7's, 2 PSU's, all in summer it could be hot in some places.   So really need to know more right now all we can do is give general ideas of help.

Are you able to take picture of area? Saying "I have the PSU's sitting on top of the units I am using bitmain psu's" could have so many setup's that is a very broad description.

So need more info and temp's of area.  Even screenshot of status screen of miner slowing down might help.

this is the screen of the system (the one that keeps saying 4.7 then droping to this. if i had to bet its def heat.

i will get a pic ofr the area later. but im going to try to switch it up with some walmart fans, shelving, and new location tonight. Wil prob work a lot better.

well boys and girls all systems are a go and hashing the problem was simply too much heat :D

btw what exactly is "frequency"?
