Title: "Developers should be compensated by coin design!"
Post by: 🏰 TradeFortress 🏰 on March 19, 2013, 09:53:44 AM
When you write a book on LibreOffice Writer, you don't have to give 80% of your royalties to the developers.

A currency that comes solely from a central issuing agency is no different to a forced, once off 100% tax. This applies even if the currency is currently being given away for free, because the issuing agency has said that they plan to sell the other half they're keeping themselves to pay CERTAIN developers (aka part of their company)... of an "open" and decentralized payments service.

What 'event' is your thread referring to? Some alt-coin that pre-mined lots of coins?
This might not be such a bad idea.

"Stake" is a powerful motivating force for benevolence. But if you don't own a significant chunk of the money, what's keeping you honest?

It doesn't matter what coin I'm talking about. If it applies, it applies.

Stake is not a bad thing. There's nothing wrong with the dev mining as soon as the client is posted on github. When in the code you give certain address advantages, then you have a problem.
