I was thinking of starting an economic journal for us amateur to submit academic paper. Granted, it won't be done by professional economists, but I don't there are any professional economists deeply involved with this community. You'll need some sort of credible editors though, maybe you can ask Profs at your local University if they would be interested in participating. You want to make sure that you are publishing quality articles only. It will take a lot of work on your part to filter through submissions and get them peer reviewed, do you have time to do that? If you do, I would suggest you create a Latex template for your journal articles to facilitate a professional look.
