Title: Do online wallets have transaction fees?
Post by: iamtheking on March 19, 2013, 09:31:19 PM
I'm pretty new to bitcoins and have been obtaining small amounts through faucets. They go to my personal wallet, but of course since there are a lot of transactions of small amounts, the transaction fee when I try to send my bitcoins is pretty large. If I send these bitcoins to an online wallet, like MtGox or bitcoin.de, will I still have large transaction fees (if at all)?
Thanks.

"standard" online wallets also rely on the same bitcoin client, having identical transaction fee policy (if not, you may end up waiting hours for your transaction to get included in a block and get confirmations).

Aren't the various faucet sites you are using providing a way to 'group' rewards in bigger amounts before sending them to your address ?

( dailybitcoins.org allows this for example )

MtGox has warning there like deposit has to be used for trading. So I dont see a way how it could be used for hundrets of micro deposits from the free faucet sites you will get
