Title: CGMiner cannot execute binary file
Post by: moley on March 22, 2013, 01:22:27 PM
Hi all,

This is my first post here. I've been lurking for a while, and have come up against a problem...

While setting up my new mining rig with Ubuntu 12.04 following this guide: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&ved=0CEQQFjAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fdocument%2Fd%2F1Gw7YPYgMgNNU42skibULbJJUx_suP_CpjSEdSi8_z9U%2Fedit&ei=t1pMUb3GC4-iiAezz4CoDg&usg=AFQjCNFxwK-2xO5wkRAteLeJLPVYd93PVA&sig2=tOYNaYNcuSSMS7y3FVN5Rg&bvm=bv.44158598,d.aGc

I've followed all the steps, and am getting a "bash: cannot execute binary file" when finally running cgminer -n

I suspect it has something to do with some of the 32-bit package bits and pieces not being available (when I try to apt-get them they say they don't exist). Would this be correct?

I've tried to read through the CGMiner readme as well as some other guides, but just keep coming up against that error!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Moley
