Gambling itself is illegal per se, so any form of gambling which includes bitcoin gambling or gambling your immovable properties are all llegal but the punishements are usually a slap on the wrist.

Of course it is legal in certain states where you can gamble in registered casinos etc.

But generally if you are into gambling it is a safe idea to keep it silent rather than let the whole world know you are gambling.

Personally  I would never advice gambling, it costs far more than what you will stand to make as a profit and there are literally a million other avenues to make good money with only a fraction of the risk.

In india, black marketing has lvl of its own.zebpay is trying to indulge people in bitcoin, let's hope for the same.
Mainly gambling with inr is famous in india.there are plenty of website, shop and areas where gambling at major rate is held.
Hope that bitcoin will take over native currency.

Its a grey area in India, if you are advertising it that you have been gambling with bitcoins, then it probably will be illegal as you won't be reporting any taxes on it. But I doubt you will land up in any significant trouble.

Gambling on websites that operate from outside the country and have their servers outside the country, is not illegal.
I am pretty sure gambling bitcoin online wont lead you into any serious trouble even if you are summoned by the court, you'll be released.

Gambling/wagering of almost any form is illegal in India. I'm sure Goa is an exception state that does allow it in certain forms. This has been specified in The Public Gambling act of 1867. Certain games categorized as 'Skill' based like 'Rummy' and betting in 'Horse racing' are allowed as certain level of skill is involved in it. But yes, Bitcoin gambling may be illegal unless it's in the form of rummy.

Like you said later in the post, its not illegal in all forms. Skill based in legal in some parts of the country like Bangalore/Goa / Kolkatta etc. With bitcoins, the government is not going to be able to find out if you gamble with it. And there is literally no interest in the government, that I have seen towards gamblers gambling with bitcoin, so should be all good for now.

Well, let's be clear. If you are an India resident and gambling with BTC or otherwise on online betting sites, even ones hq'ed abroad, you are in breach of Indian law and can be punished. Gamble at your own risk. A VPN is advisable.

If I am not wrong, I do believe however you can gamble on skill based games like poker, which are still legal in some cities. I am not sure how legal would it be online.

Yes, skill not chance is allowed in theory. But not sure what our legislators will make of the crypto layer being introduced on top of the gambling layer. May just be too much to handle in one go :)

Bitcoin gambling is not legal in India, however, I have not seen any actions taken yet against people who have/had or might have made too much money through bitcoin gambling... Just don't say there won't be any, as we don't know them just because we cannot trace them...

Actually gambling in any form(except skill based) is illegal, but the risk isn't there since its impossible for anyone to find out here that you are gambling using bitcoins, as there is no one here tracing that kind of activity for now.

There is no rule to govern bitcoin in India. So, bitcoin gambling is neither legal nor illegal.

Please do not post something you are unsure of as a fact. Meth is not legal, doesn't mean you can buy Meth with bitcoin, just because there is no rule to govern bitcoin in India.

Meth is illegal in India. Hence buying it with bitcoin is also illegal. Here, the whole act of illegality is coming from the law governing Meth.

But, there is neither any law governing bitcoin, nor any law governing online gambling. So, how come bitcoin gambling become illegal?

Please note that, using bitcoin in any offline betting is illegal as offline betting is itself illegal in India (except certain licensed ones).

There is a law governing gambling in general: https://www.quora.com/Why-are-casinos-and-gambling-illegal-in-India
So automatically online ones are too. Just that its not enforced to a large extent. Online Indian gambling companies have shut down in the past.

Yes Bro As We Know that Direct Gambling Is Illegal in India So Why you Think that Bitcoin Gambling Is Legal In India?
I Think Government is Not Banning Bitcoin Gambling Because Bitcoin is a Decentralized Coin and No Government Can Ban the Activities Involved With Bitcoin.....

When it comes to online gambling, India is currently in its infancy stage. Since gambling in India is a state subjected activity, different states have different laws formulated for casino activities. However, for the online gambling activities, the IT Act of the country regulates all the casino activities and payment gateways for any illegal gambling site. But there is no specific law drafted in India which restricts individual users from placing casino bets online.

People in India are highly engaged in playing lotteries, sports betting especially cricket, poker, and horse racing. Poker is a grey area in Indian gambling law. It’s interesting that games such as Texas Hold ‘em and Teen Pati are banned whereas Rummy is allowed. Most of the online gambling is illegal. With the recent surge of bitcoin popularity across the world, bitcoin casinos have opened up another new gambling avenue for Indian customers. In this guide, we will discuss how to play bitcoin casino in India. You can read more in the guide on about bitcoin gambling in India https://casinobitcoins.io/bitcoin-casino-india/ there you'll also find some suggestions on which that are available.

People suffer from penalty when they do gambling of any type. In some countries it is valid. We get its license in many states of India. There have been no details in India about bitcoin gambling. It can't be called either legal or illegal.

Thank you for explaining it so nicely.I agree with you , no government of India or other countries too do not have any control over the online activity of their country members .For this reason online BITCOIN transactions is not illegal.

it depends on the owner if they want to use bitcoin in gambling it seems i have seen this in the site for the people who is rich and they can do it. gambling is too addicted if you lose in gambling you will sell your thing's,property and etc. to gambling. we should resist to not addicted in gambling.
