Title: bitcoin for Tech
Post by: The 4ner on August 03, 2016, 12:06:23 AM
Anyone how I could possibly purchase a DSLR Camera with bitcoin?
I'm interested in purchasing a Canon EOS 70D. Are there any electronics vendors y'all know of
that accept BTC as payment, or do you know how I can easily convert to fiat?

All you need to do is go to any search engine like Google and then search for shopping sites in your country that accept bitcoin, then check the site if you can find the camera you want to purchase

If you consider buying DSLR on amazon, you can purchase amazon gift card on https://www.egifter.com/bitcoin/ using your bitcoin. There are also many other gift cards to choose from, purchase and use on different online shopping sites on that site. Hope it helps you. And yes, if you want to buy it directly on an online shop, NewEgg and TigerDirect are already accepting bitcoin as mode of payment.

I don't think you will have much luck finding that kind of expensive item available readily online for sale at an electronics or camera store that accepts bitcoins. That is really a hard item to find online and from what I know are only purchased though putting in a special order in most places which means cash up front before they order right from the manufacturer.

Yeah, I think they don't accept bitcoin as payment in expensive items. Maybe try to purchase Amazon gift card using bitcoin and then try to browse if they have the item you want. Sooner or later, bitcoins will be accepted anywhere.

OverStock offer excellent prices for Bitcoin purchases, and worldwide delivery.

I used it many times and was never disappointed.

My understanding is there's an issue with returns, though. Like you get the amount back in a gift card or something instead of BTC. I believe that was Overstock that does it like that (may have been Newegg).

Yeah, they use coinbase to process Bitcoin orders a and they get Fiat at the end not bitcoins so refunding in BTC is not something they can do.

I suggest OP to wisely chose the right device to purchase to avoid returns
