Title: Ripple 49/100 Coin flip address: rEgXAZiBKcLPo64wRd5JaASpZ8mGidfZiX
Post by: fancy_pants on March 25, 2013, 04:02:56 AM

This is a simple double up engine.  Wins 2x your bet 49 out of 100 times.
Feedback dust or win takes about 30 seconds. Ripple is faster but the poller is on a 15 second loop.  If you bet more than 1/10 of the bankroll, you get a refund.

******
As for the notes below:  I've confirmed that  a player made two bets and didn't get a response.  I've since tested it myself after restart and got a winner.  Yay me!  So, I'm leaving the address live and will continue to refund bets that don't get either dust or 2x.  I've got an idea how to make the engine more robust but I have to go to work today...

you should have dust within 30 seconds.

I forgot to mention the minimum bet is 1 ripple.  That's not my limit, I just can't get ripple.com server to respond with smaller amount.

I sent back your two bets (I think they have to be the ones mentioned here but I don't want to give out the address)

This is broken right now, so I'l be refunding all bets until I get it fixed.  Thanks for playing,  I hope this is more fun soon.

Thanks, looks like I won!  I made a 1 XRP bet and a 2 XRP bet and received 2 and 4 in return.

Hm. I sent 4 XRP a bit ago and haven't gotten any response. The transaction (8ADBA83054C44031F823583FF13DA512CACE00DD1BD20AB21D590C3DE5EF55D6) isn't showing up on ripple.com/graph either.

I got a few bets today some were successful (as we sent back dust or double) But I think some were not.  Since everything is in the ripple ledger, I should be able to find the orphans and manually turn them into winners tonight.

(At least I now know why satoshidice sends all those little tiny amounts)

I also may have a real professional developer interested in taking this on, so we can get more immediate feedback.

I hope you keep playing!

Thanks!

Cole

I think the max bet is 1/20 of the house bankroll at the time of the bet.  The house last I checked the house was around 17k XRP.  ($ under twenty bucks)

If anyone is checking the number generator, please know that this thing was eating all my XRP until late last night.  So, start date is today more or less.

If the bot eats your money,  I'll convert it to a winner and meanwhile get the bot working better.  It just may take a while since I have a job and all that...  So  I just sent 8 ripples.  Don't spend it all in one place!

moocowpong1 - your address starts with "X.blahblahblah" I don't know what that means.  I'm going to try to remove the X. on addresses to see if that works.

works well, nice job :D
but is there anyway to make this provably fair (such as is the standard now with bitcoin gaming)?

I'll likely be meeting some ripple folks at the bitcoin meetup in San Francisco tonight and I'll ask them if they've got an easy way to do provably fair.  My priority now however is to make it go faster, then make it multi currency.  Let's see a bitcoin game do that! (Actually, I have zero business trash talking bitcoin anything right now.)

understandable. i'm impressed with what you've done thus far; just not interested in anything that's NOT provably fair, simply on principle. i believe the fairplay gaming industry has done great things for bitcoin and could very well do the same for ripple. i look forward to watching your progress with this project. good luck

edit:
you might also consider moving this over to gambling (would certainly be a unique addition)
