Title: Please clarify Moderation Policy
Post by: betafall on March 25, 2013, 09:15:49 PM
I see plenty of service specific announcements on the general thread. Bitpay, Blockchain.info, Mt. Gox. Yet I see many other service specific posts get moved to the "Service Announcements" thread.

Moderator, please clarify why some get moved and others are allowed to stay in the General Discussion. Is there preference being given to larger companies?

Thanks for clearing this up.

I am sticking with OP, some moderator is doing whatever he wants and is constantly moving threads and it's getting annoying.

I agree. It seems to be completely random or favoring certain companies or services. I'm seeing service announcements all over the main discussion but ours gets moved. It's ridiculous.

BitPay Exceeds $2 Million in Transactions in March, Lowers Fees for All Merchant
[ANN] BitcoinStore launching with 0% margin
Bitcoindentist.com - dentistry in Washington State
Coinlab Bringing Bitcoin to Wall Street with MtGox Deal

These are all service announcements that have been on the main thread for ages and not moved.

Is there a kickback system we're missing out on?

I think there is a noteworthyness criteria, which definitely need to be better defined.

There's a noteworthyness criteria, at least for me. I cannot really put a specific guideline on that, but if it's momentous enough to affect a lot of people, it stays at the general thread. Some unmoved threads may be a result of missed threads, though. Feel free to report those threads.
