Hey all.  So i want to start trading, but i have almost no idea what to do. So i would love if someone would disscus that with me and eberyone else :)

So, to start trading, i need site for that. I would want to do altcoins/bitcoins trading, i used to know one site but can't find it anymore...

And then, any tips here for me and other newbies? Buy cheap sell expensive is not tip i search for :) What mistakes to avoid, what to never do etc.

yobit is a site with so many cheap altcoins that maybe match for new people which want to learn trading, but always be careful because in yobit, you should learn how to choose altcoins and buy when its cheap and sell when it gets pump. the up rate is not always get pump but sometimes the rate will up almost 10% until 50% sometimes it reach about 90% or more. just watch out about the rate and get prepare to buy or to sell.

never try youbit, one of the worst site ever I have ever seen. there are no admins, to solve your problems and answer the questions or tickets, many bugs and errors. dice on there site is the worst dive you would ever meet. 100% sure no probably fare.

Read the topics in the trading section and then move to altcoins section to have an idea of what trading requires. By the way traders make use of coinmarketcap.com for an up-to-date price list. Take your time to read people's posts, do your own research, before delving into it.

It is a good advice because as a new to bitcoins it is good if you monitor BTC prices how fast it can go up and come down and slowly understand this market which is different from another world market before you jump into any other altcoin trading. If you start altcoin trading without much knowledge, then you may lose a quite a lot of money.

You can try yobit. But not that reliable because many are complaining about that site. Poliniex is good though i havent tried it yet. I suggest to you, dont buy a newly created altcoin coz you dont know if its a scam. Buy atleast at the top 10 altcoin. Maybe its not cheap but it has a lot of potential to rise. Also dont focus in just one altcoin only. Buy other altcoins so you can recover when the one altcoin falls. Just like an investment

The noobest thing that you can do in trading is to expect that your money will grow after an hour or two. If you're going to invest in an altcoin, it usually takes days or even weeks before it pumps, unless you were lucky that it pumped just after you bought some. Some noobs (including the past me) got bored of waiting for the pump and then sells their coin right away. This will only lead to loss.

Yes its because trading needs time and effort so the thinking to earn as fast as we can is never gonna be happen in their, tradings need timing and proper monitoring so we can see the better result and sometimes also you cannot get a profit with this for  a long time since their are other altcoins became steady for that moment so better think that trading is patience and skill game so we wont expect something big from it easily.

Newbie should really study hard for this and focus for only your desired alts so you can follow the movementd and have greater idea how tradings work.

This question is being asked for numerous times (and answered too) but I can’t understand why newbies don’t take some efforts to browse old threads? You can almost learn about every kind of trade if you browse old threads instead of creating a new topic.

Anyway, that’s my first suggestion. Now, I would advise you to start with lower amounts and higher frequencies. You will only get knowledge on forums but it won’t help as much as your actual trading experience (no matter profit or loss). Research in deep before investing, otherwise it’s a pure gamble. My recommendation about a Exchange site to Trading is C-cex.com.. Yobit is also famous but sorry to say  I am not satisfied with their support system. they are only interested to make more and more money but don't care to their users.

but if you are using Yobit then becareful with:

1: Don't buy a coin which's price is 1 satoshi, yobit charge fee to list any shit coin,
2: Never buy a Coin which is being pumped by a bot. sometime you may see an altcoin is being bought so badly. but if you see the amount of coins you'll this is all happening with the help of Pump bots,
3: Never Store big amount of money in your exchange wallet (this tip is not only for yobit. it is for all exchange sites)
4: Don't send your all coins in yobit in one time. some of yobit wallets are dead and not working. if you send all your coins there you'll probably lost them.. first send few coins and verify that the wallet is working or not.

All of us starts as a newbie . We fail, we learn and we succeed :D . The secret to be successfull in trading is learning from mistakes and learn learn learn :D

for altcoin trading i prefer bittrex because of their platform and a decent volume they have. but choose whichever you like.
and learning how to trade is not a job for one comment on the forum. you have to start reading some articles about trading in general to get the hang of some terminology and how things are done and then spend a lot of time watching the market to learn what are the things that can affect bitcoin or altcoin price.

Its good that you have thought to start trading, as you are new you should spend time first to learn about it before starting it if you dont wanna loose your bitcoins.I think yobit is the place for you because there you can start the trading with very small amount of btc so i would recommend you to try there with some small amount until you get more experience to go big.

If you want to jump into trading then you must research and learn some things   that realted to trading  so that you would have an idea on what you gonna do when you are already trading. As others said yobit platform would be  okay  since there are cheap coins out there to buy  but select  those coins that you think that has the potential to pump. The  main thing in trading is buy low sell high  remember it.

If you want to start trading make sure you get an amount of bitcoin you are comfortable at losing with. Especially in the beginning, the risk of losing part of your investment is quite big.

I advise poloniex as your exchange as this has the highest volume of all, after that, watch the long term graphs of all the high volume coins to see what is generally going on in the markets.

Next, you will want to study the coin you plan to buy on the altcoin announcements boards to see if there is any controversy, potential news to be released, etc. This will help you choose the right coin to invest in.

Finally, try to set limits for when you want to sell and take a profit / cut your losses. This will help not to get emotionally invested and increases your chance of profit.

i agree. you must invest what you can afford to lose because you can't guaranteed profit their especially if you listen to the shill and troller in the chatbox.

If you know nothing about trading bitcoins or altcoins then try trading forex with bitcoins. This can be very profitable and within a few minutes you can start to make money if you correctly predict an increase or decrease in price.

I still think the first thing that should be done is by looking for the crypto currency that you will trust, then try to know more about it specially its history and some charts about it that says how the fluctuation go. That is the basic things that aee needed in my opinion. But you can create your own one in how you will do it.

at first make sure you sign up to a solid exchange. for bitcoin trading stick to bitstamp, btc-e, kraken as these exchanges are the good guys in the world of bitcoin exchanges. when it comes to altcoin trading stick to poloniex. since you don't have any experience at all, i would advice you to install an app that allows you to trade bitcoin and any kind of altcoin with virtual (not real) money. the name is blockfolio in google play store. it's a free app.

There are many trading platforms i am using right now poloneix, bittrex, yobit = for altcoin trading and for bitcoin trading i am still strugling to try any new exchanger after bitfinex got hacked.

There are many rules in trading but one of the most important one is to never buy any coin when it is pumping and price is in its top and never sell at bottom price. Patience is the key of trading as well as it is quite risky so don't put more than you can afford to loss in trading.

my suggestion is do some research on trading before investing . if you want to trade ,do it on legit sites which running from long time. and do not invest all eggs in one basket , diversify your investment , at the beginning invest only small amount , get complete experience and then start trading with you skill that you gained.

For a newbie they must know that trading is not easy that it seem.  You need to spend time for research and gossips.  Visit troll box for news outside the forum but never believe everything that is said in there else you will lose alot.  Try to trade cheaper coins to lessen your lost, And don't put all your eggs in 1 basket.

If you really want to learn about trading in Altcoin, then you can check Altcoin section -> altcoin announcement under this section you can see lot of new coins releasing and giving free coins before launching the coins in exchanges so with that coins you can learn the trading and after you get experience you can start investing and do trading.

Hahaha but you need to visit on yobit signature thread for getting more information about that, and just not making any offensive and bullshit post, and why there are many people is believing to trading in them until this time? ::)

It is known to have a bad customer support but it's just the same as other trading sites. The only difference is the interface and I think the interface of YoBit is actually pretty good. It's very intuitive and doesn't take that much traffic. I also agree that you should read different articles from different authors to see different point of views and techniques in trading. I think selection of exchange is not a problem but the main problem is the selection of alt coin, and specially for a newbie, who do not have any study and information of alt coin, therefore I will always recommend to start trading from selection a very very cheap price coin which cannot hurt you much if the price fell down. You are correct, and for me who learn trading in Yobit is a good exposure for newbies since they will have a great experience. Of course, as a newbie you will not be trading with thousand or millions of dollars. Just trade in small amount like 10,000 satoshi's and observed. Experience is the best teacher.

Poloniex and Kraken have good trade volume and a newbie will learn well there (please start with less than 0.1btc during your learning phase).
After you've started making repeated profits, you can go higher than that.

The basics in trading bitcoin is to buy low and sell it when in high value but be careful it maybe risky because if the bitcoin will not increase the value you will wait for it when it become higher.

really? did your account get hacked or did they just zero out your balance? and was those coins by any chance dead coins which are delisted every now and then because that would be the only possible explanation.

in case they have emptied your coins like BTC, LTC or other alive coins then you should open up a scam accusation against them otherwise it is the normal way of things happening on all exchanges and not restricted to c-cex to remove everything about a de-listed coin including the balance because they remove the wallet and blockchain and everything from their servers.

Trading actually easy to learn google can help us better to understand but asking for advices is very good idea aswell hense you will get ideas that fast and undertand things betterer. You can also go into altcoin discussion or those tipsler about coins you will know more coins there and cheaper coin to start trading.

I guess you have got lots of suggestions already and don't wanna say the routine things. But try starting with small amounts and try using faucets which are free and make some money. It's low and slow, but learn the things with regard to trading while doing this.

I think many advertise right now that you can seen in any website or in google like in forex attend a seminar how to trade in forex for free that i can seen also in facebook they have also event that they will give free credit that you can use in forex to start..
Also many ebooks that you can download right now outside in this forum and learn how to trade..
For me just get the basic how to trade and you will discover  you own way how to make profit in trading..

Though you are right about in yobit, but somebody can try in that exchange as a practice area while learning the trading procedure, or you can also try poloniex.com because it has no any controversies ever since it heard for the first time.

If You want to Start Trading then Firstly You need to Keep in Mind that Never Store Your all Bitcoins On One Trading Website and also of someone ask you to buy particular Altcoin then don't buy that coin because he/she is holding that coin and if you buy that coin the price will pump and he/she will sell the coins and you will not get any profit and also you can start trading on Yobit.net, Poloniex.com, C-cex.com and You can Find More when you got some experience in trading but for now these sites are enoyght for you.

I will suggest to him do not try to trade in yobit because it has many shitcoins there better to try poloniex you can trade bitcoins and buy and sell easily not like yobit that has many dead coins around.

yes, i also advice you, not to trade on yobit, except of many shitcoins, they also have worst support ever, if you would have any problem, they may answer on your ticket after several month. also never gamble on their dice. worst dice i have ever met, 100% sure their dice isnot fair

2 months ago i trade on Poloniex. They have web with good features. All traders needs is on the this website.
And we can lending bitcoin there.
But I stop trading now. Because I think I need more knowledge about it before start to make profit.

My suggestion is, don't waste your money before you fulfill your brain with trading knowledge.
Learn about the character of the altcoins.

Maybe if I may make a suggestion, for early start trade better tried for a small amount. Because trade is very difficult to learn so early trading as learning, so to minimize the loss may be better to try to start trading with a small amount. I'm sure if you've tried a several times a trade and learn them well you will find yourself your strategy. In addition it requires patience in trade and not to make the wrong decision because it would be detrimental.

First you should know its risks so you should ony trade an amount that you can afford to lose. Lets say the bigger the amount the higher the risks.

Hello sir if you want to start trading try to trade with this exchanges . yobit.net , poloniex and bittex this exchanges site make me a profit and help to grow my bitcoin. I cashout weekly because of that. Trading is simple you can buy an atcoin with the price is cheap and wait to increase the price and then sell. Important reminder don't put your all bitcoin in one altcoin just spread it to the other. If you also a trader you need also a patience. Make a research about altcoin you want to buy if they have potential or not.

For becoming a best and expert trader you need to take classes in an academy or institute. You can find one in any city as I know nowadays these academies are available everywhere especially in big cities. If you will start trade only on suggestions and tips then I am not sure that you will get any good success and if you do not have any academy for that in your city then try to search online tutorials and academies for that.

A newbie in trading must not conduct any kind of trading at all, your job as a newbie trader is to read books and learn as much as possible about trading, then you can do some very small trades with your new acquired knowledge and if successful you can now begin to trade for real.

But a newbie (and what not geers) can train for free on my U2 system...he risks just not earning the maximum if he trades not for the best.

I'm not agree about YoBit. To me it's a good site, almost the most used about bitcoins. I have never had problems with them and support always works fast. And add to all of that prices there are really higher to bitcoin that in fact. For example today bitcoin costs 770$ and on YoBit the price is 790$.

There are a lot of platforms you can try, I prefer Ccex for newbies since it is very user friendly, very easy to acces, another one is Poloniex... Do long and short trade, avoid trading with emotions, patience is a virtue, you need to have plan cause good traders have plan... Many traders get mislead early on in their trading careers and get wiped out as a result of not quite correct trading information... Do more research. and yes buy low sell high! ;) sell low buy lower .....

Do not suggest him yobit because he will mostly see scam coins there and after looses he will decide to give up trading. we need more alt coin (trusted alt coins only) trader to boost alt coin (trusted alt coins only) prices or alt coins market so it's good to refer him some other crypto trading platform not to yobit because it worse trading platform.

I think every exchange have scam coin listed on it.  And it would be better to see an actual manipulated trading when you are starting. Just need a mentor to explain it .  When will you expose yourself from this kind of trading?  Even if you are good enough trader, if it is your first time to be exposed to a manipulative environment, you will still feel like newbie.  I think the best would be exposing ourselves to different kind of trading manipulation in order for us to understand and adopt to that kind of environment.

I recommend to stick with established coins as they work well with technical analysis. You can check the history of these coins which are old in exchanges.

Yeah, you need to have patience and be willing to put in efforts to study various strategies and technical indicators such as RSI, MACD, Bolinger bands and the basic support and resistance levels. I think any exchanges with good volumes are good to trade.

The problem with established altcoins are less fluctuations. For a day trader, established altcoins must be so boring, they hardly find any fruitful price movements and impacting news also comparatively almost zero on daily basis.

I tried to trade litecoin with pivot point analysis along with 100 days moving average. It suggested me to stay away rather than risking my capital.
At the same time, I am not suggesting to trade new altcoins instead of established ones.

To find best trading sites are not so easy because many of the best sites to buy and sell cryptocurrencies are rather recently online.
First thing to consider before you start trading is to find trusted site and do research about how safe are the website and server. Usually a trustworthy exchange providing transparent data of coins in cold storage  and read about reviews from many users, are they like the site or not and why?  You can check Poloniex, shape shift, bittrex, bitsquare or c-cex, do your own research.

Trading is not that easy,there are two kinds of investment,long term and short term,crypto currency has their pump and dump stage this is the two things that you need to learn,if there are on going wash trade or a whale is pumping it and there is no ongoing development on the coin that will contribute to getting it pump.

this can not be done if we don't have good knowledge for trading and we can stuck in altcoin, because i've seen now on the market, the price of altcoin, is really to be analysis. beside that, if we buy with cheap, i think the price can be more cheap and we have see this with many altcoin in the market. so be careful when we decide to buy altcoin, don't buy if the price is not yet in the bottom price.

What you said is right each and every person should understand that trading is very hard to learn but when you attain knowledge it will be very to easy trade. But along with knowledge we need to have patience in choosing the best coin which give more profit to us. Sorry to say this, but YoBit is not a good site to begin trading, although it's newbie/beginner friendly. I started with it a month ago and I lost all my investment (luckily, it was only 0.001 BTC) on an altcoin that turned to be a scam and died.
But that's not the reason why I said YoBit is not for newbies, that loss was my very mistake, my reasons are; Very low volumes of altcoins, few orders (both buy and sell orders), good coins only pump once or twice a month, a lot of dead coins, so many coins that have insufficient data (if it has any) and the whole market volume is based on ETH.

I agree with you, yobit needs to change their behavior, they disappoint their customers, for more than months I sent a ticket to the support and they never answered me.

youbit is giving free coins, that isnot worst even one satoshies. all this coins, they are giving are already dead. while trading on youbit, you must make about 10 000 satoshies order, and these free coins worst only 1 satoshi. so theses free coins are fake and nonsense.

That is true, Most of the coins on yobit are coins that are not that important on market, most of them is free and you can easily get that coins but the purpose of that is to attract attention because when you notice that free coins and most of the time you got curious about that coin and how that coin performs on the market. So for me those free coins are not actually worth nothing because they are just for something promotional.

Newbies will be having no option left to trade other than just relying on their luck factors. They will realize their mistakes only after losing big money in slow progress, but that time they would be facing many financial problems. I don't think you have to lose a lot of money to realize your mistakes.  Isn't that one of the best things about Bitcoin trading at Kraken, Poloniex, you name it, that you can do trades with a very tiny amount of coins (0.005-0.01 BTC), lose some, gain some and realize your mistakes.  This is mostly impossible with fiat as the fees kill any low volume trade. You just need to be eager to learn -- otherwise you're right.

First you must decide what is it you want to trade : alt coins, btc/fiat, or both.
If it is alt coin trading then remember there are many scam coins out there. Also with btc/fiat trading you must be prepared for every situation.

But the general thing about trading and will be your responsibility for remembering it. try to buy in low and sell in high, and always try for analyze the charts.

Too risky if in the first place play with altcoin, better to understand about bitcoin market trend, because basically bitcoin market is like trading directly to central bank, which means there's no "smooth price" like forex, the price really real-time based on buy/sell & supply/demand.

And for practice purpose I think better to play with some meta trader platform demo account, nowadays some MT platform provided cryptocurrency pair.

Always unpredictable job is trading because it completely depends on user base and user active trading, trading is not an easy task to assume and implement behind we need to calculate lot of things before entering into picture. Well if you can define each details of trading and the factors affecting it going to a persons prediction, you can see the big difference of trading and gambling.  I would have to agree to your point in a sense that the person doing the trade has no knowledge about trading.  This kind of trading blindly can be considered as gambling where luck is the main factor to be successful in trading, otherwise all can be calculated and can be predict but not the actual price.

A luck has half of the percentage the dominant factor in trading. It seems like a gamble but in real it's not a gamble.

Since you already got many numbers of ideas and stretagy of trading . But here I would like to tell my stretagy of trading .
I usually made buy the altcoin which is at very low price of the month ( which is usual for many trader ) .
But after the made of buy I made sudden sell in advance at 10% more price .
Thus I  free from that buy of altcoin . In this way we can make big amount of money trading  without  confusing our mind .

But in my experience, trading is very unpredictable when it comes about altcoins (compared to bitcoin trading) because they are not stable because they keep going bumped and dumped, but trading bitcoin on the other hand is kind of safe, bitcoin has become more and more stable and increases rapidly sometimes which makes it a very good investment.

Newbies must be sticking only trading bitcoins. Even it will be a low profit making way, but it will be a safer way for protecting your their capitals.

actually it is the worst suggestion for a newbie to start trading on a fake site like yobit.
because you can not learn anything there and the only thing that using yobit will teach you is losing lots of money. they fake pump at least a couple of coins every day you can clearly see this if you pay tiny bit of attention. they use fake orders which are smaller than the allowed trade size and then put up an order themselves and buy or sell from that order making the volume go up artificially and fool some newbies into buying into their orders.

As far as i know poloniex.com have so many alternative coin options to trade rather than bittrex. Even though poloniex have available so many alternative coin but i prefer you keep carefully if sometimes the price of altcoin goes down. I would refer Ccex, Poloniex and Bittrex. I started trading @Ccex a good platform very friendly user. Just be careful in trading alts, research, ask your mentor what to buy. Don't listen to fudders on trollbox . Avoid trading with emotions. Do not put all your funds into 1 alt. Lol and yes buy low sell high. Good luck..

Let me start with this: crypto trading is insane. Most coins have such a low market cap that just one or a few players can drive the price up or down significantly. It's the Wild West of economy: buying a variety of dormant coins and then waiting for the next pump may actually be a viable strategy. I can't decide if trading crypto is the best or the worst idea, to be honest. With this out of the way...

Read some books from actual traders. For one, Nassim Taleb's "Fooled by Randomness" can help to develop some "understanding about the misunderstandings" about trading (among other things in life, I may add.) Read the classics: Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, Market Wizards. Listen to Podcasts, too: Better System Trader and Chat With Traders are really good.

Avoid crap from those who are not traders. Or those who went bust, which includes Nobel laureate economists behind the Modern Portfolio Theory, who piloted LTCM to the ground, prompting a few banks to bail them out just to save the world economy; "smart money" isn't all that smart, after all. In general, most who write about trading have never traded, haven't traded for decades, or went bust; do yourself a favor and ignore whatever they say (no matter how famous they are; it's all about marketing, after all.)

Investopedia is another cute thing that you may not want to bet your life on. They have really good content but they are trying to please everyone, so they write nice things just about anything, which includes all of the idiotic mystical bullshit that happens to be popular because people love idiotic mystical bullshit.

Learn about fat-tailed probability distributions: the difference between a left tail and a right tail, why that matters, and how they are related to the two two fundamentally opposing approaches: trend following and mean reversion.

• left tail, mean reversion, buy low/sell high: your upside is limited, your downside is unlimited, so you'll win small amounts quite often, but you'll lose a lot every once in awhile; the challenge is to compound fast enough to recover from the last bust
• right tail, trend following / momentum trading, buy high/sell higher: your downside is limited, your upside is unlimited, so you'll slowly bleed, then you'll win a lot; the challenge is to not bleed out before the next big win

Any actual strategy is probably a mix of those two; read Laurent Bernut's post (https://www.quora.com/Under-what-market-conditions-does-mean-reversion-work-better-than-trend-following/answer/Laurent-Bernut?srid=24ry) from Quora, because he explains it really well, and his "Common Sense Ratio" ties up the two sides very nicely: it has two components, one which measures the mean reversion ("Gain to Pain Ratio") and one that measures the trend following ("Tail Ratio") component of a given strategy.

Interestingly, a Quantopian study (here's a summary (https://blog.quantopian.com/using-machine-learning-to-predict-out-of-sample-performance-of-trading-algorithms/)) mentions the Tail Ratio as the most dependable predictor of out-of-sample results for the numerous strategies they verified from their community. This also suggests that trend following is a more robust approach than mean reversion.

As for mean reversion, one sure way to lose a lot of money is "doubling down" on your losses, hoping the price will turn around. Let me break the bad news: if the price is crashing, there's usually a reason for it, and the best thing you can do is to get out of that market ASAP to cut your losses. Stop losses, set before you need them (which means, set before you enter), can help you with that. That is, if you don't override them (which you shouldn't, ever.)

Forget about "predicting" the price (and don't believe anybody who says they can; they are charlatans, each and every one of them). Embrace the uncertainty of the market (which is the only way to stay out of excessive risk), and learn to think in terms of probabilities instead of absolutes. You can never be certain about winning, but you can learn to recognize the moments when you have a slight edge. The smaller your edge, the less of your capital you can risk on it; check out the Kelly criterion, though it's not always directly applicable (it works with a normal distribution, but the markets are far from the Gaussian, so it's better to stick with "fractional Kelly.")

Trading isn't "art." We all know artists can't explain why they do what they do, why it works and why it isn't, they go hungry more often than not, and they can't handle money even if it's poured down on them. It's not supposed to be fun, either. Trading for a good trader is like sex is for a good prostitute: business.

Chart patterns: some (like the above mentioned higher highs / higher lows) are obviously good, but the most are just fancy bullshit. "Heavenly Cloud Cover" my ass; excuse my French. Fibonacci everything (retractions, fans, arcs, whatnot), Gann theory, Elliott waves: mystical bullshit without exception, with zero edge.

Many have started out with testing whatever was possible to test (how would you formally define a particular "wave"? ... exactly!) to see if they work, you know, just in case, but: nope. Feel free to waste your time and money on them, but you have been warned.

Forget about magical indicators or looking for the "perfect" entry, and focus instead on what's really important: position sizing, risk management, money management. Exits matter: that's where everything is decided; therefore, never trade without stop losses.

Do check out Laurent Bernut's stuff. I can't emphasize this enough: they are probably the best intro to the most important aspects of trading. He was the dedicated short-seller for Fidelity ("the" Fidelity) for the Japanese stock market (the longest bear market in recorded history) for 8 years; if that doesn't convince you about him, nothing will. Stick with simple signals: complex is unreliable, simple is robust. Here's a simple one for starters: higher highs and higher lows suggest the price has a higher chance to keep going up, and lower lows and lower highs suggest the opposite. So, start with simple and obvious stuff like that, then mold it into a useable system that you can verify.

You need a system. That is, if you don't want to lose all your money. Don't buy strategies; those are scams. Learn enough about trading so you can build your own strategy (yes, it will take time.) Learn how you can test it (google "walk forward testing", and let me again remind you of the Tail Ratio and the Common Sense Ratio), and if it's working, verify it for some time while only paper trading it (i.e. you pretend you're trading, and log the imaginary results), and only if it's still working should you start trading.

It's a long road: trading is not for the impatient; losing is.

As for a site with a large variety of altcoins, Poloniex is not too bad. However, if you want to trade for a living on the long run, you may want to check out larger markets. Crypto is tiny, so the capacity of any strategy will be pretty limited. As comparison, the daily FOREX volume is several hundred times as much as the crypto market cap, and there are over a hundred individuals around the world with a higher net worth than all crypto combined. This may change, eventually, but we're far from it yet.

And the best market for trading is Poloniex or Bittrex. When I'm a newbie I like trading in both market, and now I'm still a newbie  ;D

If you are looking for a cheap altcoin the exchange for that thins is Yobit, most coins in this platform has a cheap price because majority of them are shit coins. But many coins here are pump and dump which means your small investment can be x10 up to x100 just be patience to wait.

This is the common mistakes of Newbie, and was my mistake too when i was starting out.  There are little knowledge on what coin to trade, but I think it is better to look at the buy support if we are to invest in some coins.  If it has a stable buy support, meaning a huge dump cant make it crash, there is a possibility that the coin will go up in value.

I agree that this kind of trading pair is best for new comers.  This will mostly have stable buy support and Newbie can pratice what they have learned form textbooks here.  Unlike with altcoin with much of unstable support,  anytime the market can collapse and not good for a trader who is just learning how to trade.

For a newbie it is very good decision to stick only for btc/usd markets, here in this market he can control his emotions by doing simple job like buying and selling only. Well, you misunderstood the first, and it's likely you don't understand the second as much as you think.

BTC is volatile, but so is everything else that is worth trading: it's true that you can't lose without volatility, but you couldn't win, either. Trading isn't about avoiding volatility, it's about how to capture the upside of it.

About the second point, you do capture two important ideas:

  1) position sizing: don't risk more than what you're willing to lose
  2) having a pre-determined exit

However, the strategy you describe is called mean-reversion and, while it may actually work, it comes with a limited upside and an unlimited downside. In human speech that means things will look quite spectacular until it suddenly won't: you'll keep winning small amounts quite regularly, and then you'll lose it all (and more) in one go. That is, unless you always set a stop-loss, but stop-losses erode the edge of mean-reversion strategies, so I doubt you could make it both working and secure. Unless you can compound very very fast, in which case maybe it'll work.

More robust are the different momentum strategies, maybe augmented with some mean-reversion to smooth out the equity curve and increase the win-ratio.

Nope, go in head first! Sorry there is no learning curve without taking some damage. But here comes the trick, you can scale that possible damage in advance.
Don't start with a portfolio sized like your year's salary. Start small, trade on the edge and get yourself both, lucky strickes and bloody nosed following closely.

If you want clean list of coins, you can also try poloniex.com . They have a good list of altcoins and they have good service too. I have tried bitfinex, yobit and poloniex, so far polo is better. But I also trade in yobit for scam coins being pumped. It is an easy way to earn money if you spot it early.

Trading such scam coins are not good to trade though it was being pumped because you can't ascertain when will you sell your coins with that scam coins. What if no one buy your scam coins? That would be unfortunate because it may continue dropping that will result money lost. In terms of good trading site, I think Poloniex is the best since its volume is huge. Yobit was a  good site for the newbie, because there are lots of cheap coins out there. Where you can buy then trade, just take advantage in the coins value were has a low price then sell it at the high price.

It's not that easy. The price of the coin is really cheap mostly because the coin has already been pumped and dumped and then ditched by the first investors. Just because the coin is cheap, doesn't mean that it will give you profits. You have to do tons of research first. You need to look deep.

For example, look at VSL (or vSlice), the price is really low right now. It's been like that for a long time. But since I've participated in their campaign and I got it for free, I wouldn't sell it unless the price goes high. That's beside the point, but if I bought the coins instead, I would still be waiting right now. The price isn't just going high at all. Yes, the thread is still being updated every now and then, but not much are interested. The price of all these coins are built by hype and that's what VSL is lacking.

I agree on what you have said,i saw lots of cheap coins that are traded on yobit and as you said those cheap coins already experienced pump and dump,if you arent knowledgable enough you will surely buy them and would wait forever thats why it does still need knowledge before on buying.

first you should know what is the best coin for now in order for you not to lose your coin. you need to be vigilant, its a big money for us to invest in trading so if we pick a wrong coin many amount of money will be lost. we need to be keen observant. we need to be patient also we need to wait wether the coin will be up or down, dump or pump. choose wisely.

I don't see any wrong if the newbie will start to practice trading in yobit, though the only problems was your right there is no admin, so meaning since this is the first ground for a newbie in trading the person need to be very careful in it. And the reason why yobit up to now still stand in this industry it is because yobit is not too sensitive for a new coin even it is a shit type of coins.

Yeah thats the basic rule as a trader, sell high and buy low.. But aside from that you need to know the fundamental and technical analysis. Watch the history of the graph and also the status of the coins specially for long term trade. Correct, Doing trade in the coins that are most often in pump and dump only is not a good way of earnings, it will gonna make your coin be stuck in that exchange. It is still much better to trade that are very aggressive in motions so there is a bidding war happen in the trade.

Bittrex isn't as worse as Yobit, but it's not really an exchange I would make use of. Poloniex is the only exchange that offers a decent and trustworthy platform plus a huge load of liquidity. Other than that, best is indeed to avoid the newer (mostly copy and paste) coins, but people tend to choose them because of their low price. It's quite harsh for newbies to buy themselves into ETH or Dash at current levels.

I think the best way to learn trading is to experience trading. It is okay if you will invest just a small amount for you to trade then try it I think 1 week is okay after that if you know how trading works then try it with a big funds for you to formally start your trading and that is to know how to trade.

That is smart. This is the most experienced and awesome strategy which belong to every veteran trader. When I was a newbie, I was always panic and sell everything I had when I saw the prices were being dumped.

My view on this matter was, if yobit is the worse, why does yobit exchange stand for a years in this industry. and why many of the traders still getting on this site. Because as far as I understand on this things, if yobit is really worse than other exchange site for sure there will be no traders will get interest to make some trade in this platform. I am not a yobit client but I know there are lot of traders still patronizing Yobit, even I know  majority of the community here hate yobit exchange.

But there are also times when panic selling is a better choice because it allows you to re-buy at the lowest of the dip. And of course this also has risks involved just like how you're risking your bitcoins even more when you continue holding your bitcoins instead of panic selling them. There's no guarantee that the price will pick up again at some point and at the same time, there's no guarantee that the price will go even lower than the price that you sold your bitcoin at. But the latter is more likely since it's quite unlikely for the market to go to the opposite direction all of a sudden.

I've never used yobit before and therefore I will not judge. Personally I use poloniex for trading my altcoin. The site has been up and running for quite a while and has high volume and the user experience is great. So I'd recommend poloniex to get started with trading.

Correct do not judge if you do even tried to used the site, most of the users of yobit says that this exchange is worst but what is their basis? for me if they lose their bitcoin in that exchange do not blame the site because users is the one who do trading and those users if some altcoin they trade and not pumping they will blame the sites.

Since you are a newbie in trading, what you need to do is learning and do a lot of training through demo like an athletes. Don't invest your money first just download meta trade software from simplefx and demo trade first until you are able to get a consistent profits before open a real account.

It is going to be a little bit tricky if you are a newbie and you are going to learn a lot in this path but still the journey is going to be very adventurous and amazing if you are continuing with bitcoin for many years and what I will suggest for a newbie that be patience and be wise in your every investment because this is what that bitcoin requires, what I mean is that you have to be very precise when to buy and then hold and then when to sell your bitcoins, then only you can credit maximum profit to your account.
