I want to ask few question from this community. I have invested in few coins and all went dead, Lost more than 2 btc.
So

Should we invest ICO?
How to know that this Coins ICO is Scam?

I think those who invested in crypto casino like NXT NEM ETH they are not regretting at all.
But like you see on top of top10  50% of them are some kind of ICOs.
Those coins live like other minning coins, mineable coins allso can go dead but with those from minning there is chance that after death
some whale will come and pump your coin while ICO once failed it will go offline forever.

There is many scams in crypto all is risky you have to think for yourself why that coin...
When i started i was thinking that PCC LTC DOGE will be worth something and after year those coins lost 80-90% Value so todays price is nothing
it can go down easslly but most likely coins from top10-20 won't be abandoned like rest

In crypto those who are 1st are winning so maybt if you know good trader insider just follow him probably he knows more people that you and  jump his ICOs.
Scams are everywhere mined coins also can be scams like ICOs.

Fake ICOs are usualy:
- to good to be true
- promise you will be rich soon
- all are hypping thread for no real reason
- devs are avoiding answering hard questions and deleting them (there is site when you can check what was deleted)
important is to check what was deleted it will give you clue what is going on

I don't buy ICOs as the risk is very high. I would rather pay a premium to buy the coin in the open market.
At least, I can assess the coin to see if it is worth investing. ICOs is risky as you are buying with your eyes closed.

Yeah and even then it's still risky.  Check out the orderbook of Lisk right now.  Some whale is putting a huge sell wall making people dump their LSK.  It's very irresponsible of the whale.

well, ICO itself as the definition of it goes, is not a bad thing. and it actually has the potential to help the project and be a real constructive thing. but sadly it is being abused as a means to scam.
so answering to this question is a bit hard but I can say no, you shouldn't since you will regret it after a while.


this is the hardest thing, maybe it is just me but I find it a gamble to invest in these ICOs especially these days that every scammer out there thinks altcoin scene is a way to make a quick buck.
but generally you should check out the developer and his history and also the project that he is managing to see if there is any hope at all for it to rise or not.

It is a risk, there is no way to know for sure if there is real development behind many of these ICOs and those that you think have some substance hurt the most.

A lot of the time you can pick up coins at the same price if not cheaper than the actual ICO once it hits an exchange as many people who bought into the ICO will be looking for a quick profit and dump there coins pushing the price down.

There will be a hidden gem of a coin behind an ICO if you are lucky.

if I want to invest into an ICO,i'll first see who's get involved into the project,if the person were proven trusted or just trusted enough maybe I could get in but sometimes,just see the past of the developers,if the developers were new I won't take a risk,but if in the development some veteran was getting involved even there's some new developers it's could be an exception

for each premined altcoin is scam so don't invest at any ICO/IPO.

check for better back up and dev who's handling or creating the coin, as of know to be honest only stratis is the great ico coins for the past 2 months and still looking good 3 time of ico price.

Buying after ICO ended and listing of coins on a Exchange site its still risky. I bought Papaf coin after its relaese, it was just one day old and had good volume i thought it will go much higher than this, but when i bought that coins for almost .4btc it went down too quickly and now its worth only .004btc lol

if you do not have a good knowledge about  a coin you should not invest your assets there.

An ICO without legitimate escrows always turned into a scam. Scammers hate escrows, they will do everything in their power to avoid them as much as possible. Before investing make sure the ICO coin is using trusted escrow service.

2 dev team much people not only one, is good coin dev is much people
3 this enough savety your money

exactly this is the first thing i look when i joined ico i making it sure that the escrow that will handled my money / btc is one of the trusted escrow here because they are taking care of their names it will hard for scammers to fool them.

May we know in which ICOs you invested before and why you actually picked these specific project? Why were you so hasty to invest into unproven ICO?
(Not that you can be sure about something not really existing in the first place)

Whitepaper and road map can be bloated with fantasy promises. Coin might be abandoned long before everything announced in the roadmap will become reality.

even escrow will holding the money when the time ICO is running you cannot still make sure that the ICO project will not turn scam since this coin will be easily dumped by the devs once it will be added on the exchangers and it got huge buys and got also huge btc volumes, and we surely see that one's and those coins are moslty located at yobit exchange,  and also thats the reason why we can't trust fully the ICO coins since they are prone to became a scamcoin when the right volume and time comes.

That's why when someone want to put some decent amount on those coins on ICO, remember that manipulation can happen anytime or even every minute/s since it's easy for whales to change the phase of the price that's why monitoring is really a must. We should act fast here.

Also remember to get out when people already sees some sure profit rather than being a greed one waiting for more pump and price increase to avoid regrets.

to simplify those thing up we should not hold any ICO coin for so long and just intend it for the time when it still buyable, and my tactics for this one is to sell at the topest price of it and re roll again the price if this  ICO coin will suddenly drop, but this thing would be happen if we do some extra ordinary monitoring of price and sure if we can do that surely we can earn huge profit by this certain coin even if this coin will be dumped totally in this coming future.

I think people should stop buying coins from ICO.99% ICO project is scam.

1. Newbie account.
2. Without escrow.
3. Without Real identity.
4. White paper etc

They's all scams, erry one of them.  An' they all outta China or Russia, an' when yous buy inta this shits, you is directly supporting the Russian mafia or whatever the flunk they gots over in China.  Y'all need to seriously consider that.  They all scams, don't care what anybody tell you.

This depends on what you are talking about, if your question is concerning how not to be scammed in an ico then it mostly depends on the information you gather on the web plus public opinion plus the whitepaper but if you are talking about coins in general or on exchange platforms then that is a different story.

I also can recommend - try to analyze market of product (which ICO will create or propose).
