Title: Bitcoin core Post by: zend7 on August 27, 2016, 04:22:57 PM Where is my wallet.dat file in Windows 10 ? I tried looking in program files and I see a folder called bitcoin qt 64 bit and I don't see any wallet.dat there. By the way my wallet is not fully synchronized, just misses about 12 weeks to have the full bitcoin core 0.12.1 running.

Make sure it's fully synchronized before doing any transactions or checking balances. But if you just want that single "wallet.dat" file then you can create and export it a copy of it directly from Bitcoin Core. File->Backup Wallet-> and then Choose Name and Location for wallet.dat file Title: Re: Bitcoin core Post by: reb0rn21 on September 05, 2016, 06:27:05 PM If you are not experienced user and most are not, just use minimalist wallet like electrum! no need to back up keys, its way more secure to write down "seed words" on paper which can recover your wallet anytime!!
also synchronization is way faster, a few minutes from the start! |
