Blockchain.info wallet users seem to be facing issues with the platform. There are multiple posts on various social media platforms reporting issues with login and transaction problems.
Blockchain.info, one of the leading Bitcoin wallet and blockchain explorer is said to be in the process of upgrading the platform for a while now. These issues seem to be related to Blockchain.info’s wallet and API requests. One user on Reddit reported an unusual issue after he encountered an error message saying “Unable to Acquire Transaction Lock”. However, the user later updated his complaint saying he was able to execute the transaction after repeated attempts.

Don't. Use. Online. Wallets.

If this is really still going on then the dumb newbies who keep there coins there are going to get their funds hacked / stolen / lost / locked. It's a web wallet people. It's as secure as an exchange. Use your own damn wallets and not these make-shift start-up online only bitcoin banks.

They have had multiple issues over the last couple of years... but they seem to resolve it very quickly. Some people still use online wallets, so we

need to report all issues as soon as possible to prevent problems early. You would be fairly safe, if you only keep a very small percentage of your

coins in these wallets, and the majority of your coins in cold storage.  ;) ... I think the last problem was with the random number generator.  ???

The point is that they are facing nearly the same problems for such a long time now. And somehow they don't fix it even though people have been reporting errors by large numbers. Nowadays I am more shifting towards blockr.io as block explorer as they are far more consistent with delivering a good user experience. When it comes to wallet service, blockchain.info is still the leading site.

Bullshit. They're the worst wallet tied with Xapo, Coinbase.com and any other online wallet. They aren't secure, they have your private keys a you're making a donation to them by keeping your funds in THEIR wallets.

Jesus christ I hold my Bitcoins more secure than these morons at these huge companies. Hand over your bitcoins to me because I'm more trustworthy than some crappy Web wallet hahaha. (obviously I'm kidding. Don't trust anyone else with your coins ffs. Get your head out of your ass.)

To be fair, Blockchain.info actually make a point of advertising the fact that private keys are generated client side. So if that's genuinely the case they don't hold funds at all, just provide a heavily packaged experience of using user held private keys with a web wallet interface. To what extent any of that method is secure is a different question ("not very" would be my assessment), but in theory, Blockchain.info users should be able to import their private keys into a different wallet they choose.

True, but if you're buying a new house and the previous owner keeps a key to get in do you really feel safe? Now what if you bought it from some start up company / faceless organization? I would want the locks changed (aka: make a new wallet) where only I would have access.

Actually now that I've said the analogy of a house blockchain.info is a lot like a house. Sure you have the key but there are lots of windows for people to get in :P
