Greetings,
I am an early Monero user, not mined much but I like Monero since its early days. I promoted it as i could with my website http://monero.org, i told my friends about Monero too. But now it is time to give it away. And i want to sell my http://monero.org website. I will accept Monero as a payment or Bitcoin and i would like to make this deal with escrow. I would like to make an auction here, start price for community is 10000 XMR or 145btc. I believe this is a very cheap price for the coin with about 200mln$ coinmarcetcap.

How can you prove that you own the domain?


You can reach me with the original mail it is registered to :) And soon i will include a selling advertise on http://monero.org website, but i made an announce here first just not to discredit xmr. Because if people will see some sale advertise on website and if they think monero.org is the official monero website it can harm monero.
You can do everything monero related on monero.org, like exchange, pool, eCommerce, catalog and so on.
With potential revenue for that domain it can pay off in just one month or even faster. I just don't have enough resources to maintain it.
But i really want monero.org website to be owned by monero developers and community and price for them is negotiable. But i reserve the right to sell it any time for any price. By the way remember 10000 bitcoin pizza? I believe this is kind of yahoo-google sale deal (http://finance.yahoo.com/news/remember-yahoo-turned-down-1-132805083.html)!

I do have a few offers, 6000 XMR is the biggest one, not gonna sell it that cheap now, because just a potential pool business there can produce good profit.
Seriously think that 10000 XMR is a very good starting price for monero.org, in a few months domain owner can have a major Monero userbase there.

Ummm, it's a .org address, not .com. Discussing profitable uses is inappropriate and selling to the highest bidder may put a domain that carries weight and authority into the hands of someone who may use it to misinform at best, scam at worst.

I think you should just give it to the development team and trust that the added value to the project will increase your current moneroj holdings by more than you are trying to receive directly eventually.

If you can't dig deep in your heart and contribute to the project that must have already enriched you so much, my proposal is that the community raise your asking price via crowdfunding and give control of it to the development team. Put me down for 1 monero, 9,999 to go. Anyone else? I can only assume they picked their domain (I can't remember off the top of my head) because you already had the obvious one.

P.S. On the topic of domain names, is anyone following the interesting work bipcoin (another cryptonight based currency) is doing with distributed DNS over a blockchain? They seem confident they can overcome the issues NameCoin (the first ever altcoin) faced. Exciting stuff when combined with distributed websites, IPFS, and storage, Sia coin. I'll try and grab monero.bip on launch and give it to the developers.

Are you deliberately not updating the Software section? You would be taken more seriously if you update this section. It shows you actually care about Monero, which btw is benefiting you too, even in the selling process.

Are you deliberately not updating the Software section? You would be taken more seriously if you update this section. It shows you actually care about Monero, which btw is benefiting you too, even in the selling process.

Monero price starting from 10000 XMR

I was thinking about all of that for a very long time. I may hire some professional web developer for a total website remastering with an actual information about Monero. The problem is the cost but I will try to handle that.
