About the PM issue I would suggest to contact Mitchell as he has changed the username in the past, Lauda too.

The old name is still your username for logging in, so that is still unique. Well you can look at the SMF documentation using the help (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=help) link and it will tell you how to change your display name. If however you go into your profile an attempt to do so, you will see that the option to change your display name is not available to you. There's nothing stopping anyone from asking admins for a username change but it is highly unlikely they will entertain your request. I'm sure it would be very low on their list of priorities. Seems like many do it here and this bitcointalk probably even believes it is legal.
Whatever, changing your name will not change anything related to the connection and whoever wants, can find easily your old name. Unless you only dislike your username it is usefull, but to pretend you changed your name gives you only fake security and fake anonymous feeling. You can always register new account. |
