Title: PCIE splitters Post by: faille on June 13, 2011, 06:00:19 AM I remember reading a post about someone that used a pcie splitter to connect 3 GPU's to a single PCIe slot, but can't find it again.

The guy was trying to hook 6x5870 on once board with x16 to 3-x1 splitter. He didn't manage to get it too work instead just went with 2 motherboards with 3 cards each.

Do you know if it was specifically the splitter he was having problems with? in the post I was thinking of, the guy did have it working, so maybe it was different? Certainly increases the possibilities if you could split up each slot into multiple cards. He didn't specify, just said it wasn't working. You should trying googling folding with splitters since they probably have some resources that aren't available here. RSC-R2UU-A4E8+ (4 way) They should work in theory, but splitting the power between power hungry graphics cards may not work out so well. The spec allows for up to 75W across the bus I believe, hopefully a card with 2 auxillary power connectors and only 1 physical gpu die wouldn't draw enough from the board to cause any damage.
