I'm already using bitmessage, i think it's pretty nifty. A new network should at least have the same features to begin with...

Have a look at the new Byteball project, this wallet has AES encrypted chat built in!

Cool I will check these out. We are currently developing a decentralized network that has video/audio chat as well as screensharing and file sharing.
