Title: For what was Bitcoin created?
Post by: kryptqnick on September 25, 2016, 02:18:43 PM
If we think about different currencies - Bitcoin is a real step forward. It is not supported by gold or something else. It depends a lot on whether people use it and believe in it.
For which purposes you think Nakamoto created Bitcoin? To earn a lot of money? Or just to create something new?
Maybe, he wanted to show the different nature of money and that it doesn't need government to exist, for example?
What are your thoughts on the topic?

You've already replied to yourself, it certainly was to show that a currency can exist without central control or any kind of government, and he also wanted to make a way for people to escape the (corrupt) fiat banking system.

Exactly. The first and basic purpose was to create independent, decentralized currency without bank or governement control. I don't think that profit wasw his (only) goal but that came along. Many people thought that Bitcoin and such decentralized, uncontroled system that doesn't relay on all sorts of manipulations couldn't survive. But they were wrong, Bitcoin was success and proof that banks are replacable.

Bitcoin besides being decentralized, and has value, and banks and countries hasnt no power at it, just us people and some investors, and look the value of 1 bitcoin its 600 dollars and soon will reach the 1000 dollars, and i believe it will cross the gold value on the next 10-15 years. Bitcoin return the power to people of the money as in the past, before banks act and countries with regulations, the ammount wasted and stoled from politicians would avoid any financial problem if the system were like bitcoin, able to all know and see where the money is going.

I think that people here are more worried why all those altcoins are created every day rather than asking for bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a new innvoation and it's made to have a freedom of our money and making transactions less costly.

I don't think profit played a role. Although we cannot be sure if Satoshi was greedy or not as we do not know him, he went away way before Bitcoin value went stratospheric and he hasn't come back since as far as we know. At least he did not spend his coins.

If he were a greedy person he would had sold his coins when they went to 1000 dollars bubble and even now, but the coins keep there, i dont know if there is any other wallet he had in the past, but greedy he isnt otherwise why would he let the 1000dollars opportunity run away, he made something he didnt know it would turn into what its bitcoin nowadays.

It's funny, because *everything* depends on people believing in bitcoin.  It's not backed by debt, governments, central banks, or gold or silver.  It doesn't physically exist.  Bitcoin is so strange to me, but the community is so hardcore.  But yeah, it was created to transcend governments and banks, and it's doing a damn good job, I'd say.  Not that bitcoin users are spending it like money, because I'd say most are not, but it's been adopted in the nerd community and the dark markets.  That's definitely something.

Would that person be driven by greed or was that person just smart when he knew when it was the right time to buy when it was low and then sell when it was high? That is done by stock traders every day. So what is the difference? It is not a greedy person but one that can read the market and then takes the initiative to capitalize on it's potential.
Nothing wrong in doing that.
No insider trading required to do it. ;)

That's so simple... in my opinions, satoshi is wanna be for making a bitcoin caused by he has got an inspiration from the people in a real life is always using a banking for making an online transfer, and satoshi is looking for a simple way to fixing the problem and the human can do the digital transfer with more simple in method.

Top answer and the simplest one. I will just add up the transaction fees that are lower. This are for a good way to introduce bitcoin. Somehow they find it not easy to understand but giving them an easy reasoning to why use it can make them inviting to people eyes.

I will have to agree with most of the users here, Satoshi should have created Bitcoin to show people that they can transact with  something without the need of banks and get a high level of security.

Bitcoin cannot be used to fight corrupt politicians as these same politicians can use others forms of value for their illicit activity.

Considering the fact that bitcoin runs on block chain and it is the most successful experiment to be conducted on a Block chain...the best part about why Bitcoin was created is that, Perhaps satoshi wants to show the world what "Block chain Technology" can do. He is a Visionary and should have seen what the world would be when it has adopted the entire Block chain technology in the coming years.

Perhaps the Bitcoin white paper provides the answer you are looking for?

Quote
Commerce on the Internet has come to rely almost exclusively on financial institutions serving as trusted third parties to process electronic payments.  While the system works well enough for most transactions, it still suffers from the inherent weaknesses of the trust based model.  Completely non-reversible transactions are not really possible, since financial institutions cannot avoid mediating disputes. The cost of mediation increases transaction costs, limiting the minimum practical transaction size and cutting off the possibility for small casual transactions, and there is a broader cost in the loss of ability to make non-reversible payments for non-reversible services.  With the possibility of reversal, the need for trust spreads.  Merchants must be wary of their customers, hassling them for more information than they would otherwise need. A certain percentage of fraud is accepted as unavoidable.  These costs and payment uncertainties can be avoided in person by using physical currency, but no mechanism exists to make payments over a communications channel without a trusted party.

Bitcoin wasn't made to give customers a faster time when it comes to making payments. We have credit and debit cards for that, and Bitcoin wouldn't be necessary if that was the only thing we were looking for. Bitcoin was made to give people an alternative to the traditional banking system.

In the times before Bitcoin, there was a challenge to create an immutable currency that could be used in a trust less environment within a decentralized network. < The mountain will be climbed, because it was there > Satoshi Nakamoto then solved this puzzle < The Byzantine Generals Problem >, by putting different concepts together and in doing so, came up with a technology that solved several other problems.

The genius behind this, is mind boggling! ^smile^

It's is created for us to have currency that can be spend through online and for other purposes of bitcoin. Satoshi did a really good job about it because he helps a lot of people by earning bitcoins through this forum and other sites that pays bitcoin. Bitcoin is also the future money for us based on what I've read on different articles about it. It's not that bad because bitcoin has expensive value since it's price is higher than the value of a cash money that's why it is easy to adopt and use by all the people.

Bitcoin was mainly created that you yourself has the control over the money. And that no one else is having control over it's supply or where, when and to whom you send it for instance. So it's all about monetary sovereignty and financial freedom.
That's why Bitcoin is one of the biggest inventions since many many decades, and probably as big and important as the internet itself.

I think bitcoin is created to have transactions less costly. Since almost all the things can be done digitally then why not make a digital money instead so that it can go with the flow and the more innovations people make, the more riskier it is to just let your identity be exposed to the public by using credit cards that has the possibility of being used by hackers and with bitcoin there is anonymity involved so being safe also is one of its advantages. I think it has also something to do with inflation wherein prices go up day by day and the value of money becomes lesser but with bitcoin the opposite happens because as years pass by, its value becomes bigger and bigger.

Satoshi would have created it for decentralisation of money and to give financial freedom to people from banking system.
He would have worried  much about how banks exploit ordinary people.
He tried to create a currency which doesnot even need the approval and support of government to survive and he succeeded in his attempt.

I think bitcoin was created to change the currency system. I think nakamoto had views of transforming coventional money system into online or digital system. Also he might have other views or planning with bitcoin that he had never revealed to public, May be he will come back again after 20 30 years when bitcoin will be well accepted by all countries.

Judging by the message engraved in the Genesis Block, the intent for Bitcoin's creation was to end the interventionist and fraudulent fiat money scheme that led to the still unresolved world economic crisis since 2008. Bitcoin is the exact opposite of the political fiat money, whose value is constantly deteriorating because of inflation of the monetary base. Bitcoin's success is proving that the idiotic mainstream's economic dogma that inflation is needed to stimulate economic activity is completely wrong.

Bitcoin is simply much better money than fiat trash. It has the potential to make the world a freer place, by creating a sound form of money that circulates outside of governmental control and therefore can't be abused for political (power-related) motives.

ya.ya.yo!

I very much agree with you. because I see all the systems that used bitcoin is excellent and well-ordered in the digital world. This can be evidenced by the transaction as a whole requires digital media and could not be used outside of digital media. This is something commendable as this could provide a very good efficiency in the future

He imagined perfect technology to help us with making this world a bit better place. Nakamoto have used his knowledge over cryptography to make quite unique as well as very outstanding technology in the field of finance which can revolutionize the way we do financial transaction. And i think satoshi also want to make a way/system for everyone around the world to have better control over their wealth in a secure environment as well as give complete freedom to them to do cross border financial transaction without any government/corp investigation or restrictions.

We dont have the mind to do it but he did and we are thankful that it is shared. Many will not share it and would just be for the gain.

Only the Goldbugs still believe that gold is the ultimate investment option, the rest of us know that this can be taken away by the press of a button. How many of them have even seen their part of their investment?

If we think about different currencies - Bitcoin is a real step forward. It is not supported by gold or something else. It depends a lot on whether people use it and believe in it.
For which purposes you think Nakamoto created Bitcoin? To earn a lot of money? Or just to create something new?
Maybe, he wanted to show the different nature of money and that it doesn't need government to exist, for example?
What are your thoughts on the topic?

You already answered your own question in your thread.

The whole idea of bitcoin is to be out of any government and central banks control.

It has to be decentralized and without any corporation controlling the currency.

Nothing is supported by gold. Maybe some economies, but still not 100% supported by gold. Honestly, gold has no value besides it's use in jewelry.

I think Nakamoto did not know that Bitcoin will gain this great popularity , from other side to recognize the importance of Bitcoin , you can make a comparison between Bitcoin and other online banks like Paypal or Payza or any other bank , these banks can hold your money because of any reason or any claim , but in Bitcoin no one can hold your money as long you have the key of your wallet , this is the big difference .

In my opinion the reason behind bitcoin is that he wants to prove that currency can exist without the control of any central government and he also want to give people to work for him or for his company. And one thing more the purpose of bitcoin is to compete in the market with other currencies and become no 1 currency in online market.

I think bitcoin was created for all the reasons you called. The biggest point here is that bitcoin is independent from price for gold and other currencies. I think Nakamoto created bitcoin exactly for that, the currency is I depended from gold, banks and governments, it even doesn't have it's paper form and all transactions are providing just through the internet. That was the main target. And that attracted many interest from people, that is why bitcoins became so expansive if to compare the price for it today and in the beginning.

Bitcoin was created as the first step of the revolution of our currency system, and it's expected to be able to change the way we think of currency. Because money is not just the thing that we use everyday, but we have to understand the way it's distributed and the way it's controlled.

No, almost every currency could be traded. But, bitcoin is somewhat similar to assets that is the reason it could be used for investment. We could not argue that these were not within conceptual speculation of Satoshi.

I agree bitcoin was created with the aim of having for internet payments, but it is not special type as we have already have Paypal and other similar electronic currencies. But, I could say bitcoin was created to replace Paypal.

Maybe bitcoin was developed as an act of rebellion.
A statement of Nakamoto on how he thinks about governts and the way the trace everything people do.
I can imagine that creating an unhackable payment system that works across all borders, without the controle or influence of a government was somehow the intention of Nakamoto.
From all I have seen and learnde so far about bitcoin, he did a pretty good job.

if Satoshi was looking for money the he would have dumped his coins a long time ago back in the time of $1200 level and then bough back and dumped again and again just like what many other altcoin developers are doing.

The basic purpose of creating bitcoin would surely have been to create something new and independent which as you said does not need any government to exist for controling it or to give everyone a way to have money which is anonymous for anyone in the world and no one else can know you have something unless you let them know about it.

But I'm sure, after got frustration with some existing system, Satoshi might got the idea of getting new payment system that would replace all existing payment system/network. Internet and cryptography have supported Satoshi to have realized his dream.

Bitcoin was created to give the average person the ability to have an alternative to the mainline currencies and so, born primarily out of the 2008 financial crisis if I remember correctly. That's what's said anyway, based on the technology it looks more like it was in the design stages before 2008, but it was released in 2009 so I personally have no real idea.

many people have good points. But with the creation of the internet and
how it has taken over the world it was only a matter of time someone created
a way to create / send a digital currency quickly to anywhere in the world without
using a-holes like paypal who control your money.

If it wasn't Satoshi bitcoin it would of been someone/ somthing else. There was a void
that needed filling and that's why it has taken off so far. It's the people's money.

If Satoshi Nakamoto didn't come up with the idea of the idea, somebody else would. The creation of bitcoin also gives the ordinary man the power to be his own bank, without interference from anybody.

Especially for something that would push the traditional money a step forward, yes bitcoin is money 2.0 and it is emerging as a solution for the disadvantages of fiat. Just sharing my two cents.

I think all of our answers were already mentioned by yourself. All we can do right now is agree with it. Satoshi created Bitcoins to prove that money shouldn't be controlled by "someone" AKA the government. All of the transactions should be publicized. There should be no tax at all and there should be very little transaction fee as well. Another part of the concept is proving that it should be possible to mine money.

This could have been created to have an independent currency without banking system and the control of government. The other goal would have been to see all experience profits. There was a big struggle in introducing this at the beginning. As we all know, BTC did not have any value when it was introduced. Soon later, its values kept flying and kept an example for banks and governments that it can replace banking systems.

For what was bitcoin created? well actually it was been created for some purposes, maybe they created it to have independent currency without any banking system, they created bitcoin to give chances to some people to hold money. Also the purpose to try some investments to gain more profit. Thats my perspective.

Would you mind to share your thoughts guys?  :D

I think this is the top 2 reason bitcoin created for.No one will be able to know who's are you, Using your bitcoin address.Bank never gives you a safe space but with bitcoin no one will be able to keep track of your money.
Also time is very valuable. With bitcoin you can send money to anywhere anytime in seconds and it's very easy.

The reason why Satoshi created a bitcoin was to produce a currency independent of any central authority, transferable electronically, more or less instantly, with very low transaction fees. He has a god intention that we are all are benefiting from it. As it evolves, it attracts thousands of people and possibly millions now and counting.

As what almost bitcoin users know bitcoin is created to make a decentralize digital currency and its goal is to make a kind of money that uses cryptography to control its creation and transactions. Bitcoin is not created to make Satoshi rich by making this kind of currency. And that's why he made it as an open source so that every developers can improve the software and can make their own bitcoin and that's why altcoins are made.

In our country. Bitcoin is not anonymous anymore because the only bitcoin wallet working here needs id verification and selfie verification to update and withdraw your bitcoins to fiat. This is very awkard as a bitcoin user. I earned bitcoins anonymously but i withdraw it with my identity ao it is useleas because if the source of your funds is from illegal. It will got banned and loss to the owner.

I think bitcoin was created for us to be freed from the power of government. Not in like a juridical way, but in terms of money. Admit it, we're all annoyed by that 12% value added tax on everything that we buy, that income tax too that is subtracted to whatever we earned in fiat. We don't even feel that those taxes that we are paying are actually being used in a good way.

Bitcoin is also a better way of paying people abroad. Paypal and all those other payment methods has a lot of fees and have a lot of issues. Bitcoin doesn't have those kind of stuffs.

I have the same thought, blockchain is always more important than Bitcoin... Bitcoin is just an example of what blockchain can do.

And well, now we can make transactions in a fast way without banks.

I think he will. Every developer has a great expectation for their project especially if they gave much time on it. I think the developer has a problem on his identity or he was a rich guy trying to evade tax. Because bitcoin features are all pointing to that perspective. I'm sure that he is very rich now because he still holds a lot of btc that mined on when btc is newly developed.

I think this question can be answered by reading the white paper https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf (https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf) .

I think earning a lot of money from bitcoin is just a side effect of his creation. Anyway you can earn from any currency, even the scam ones. The most important part of bitcoin is having a payment system that works on a trustless network and does not need any third party.

Yes That correct answer, I agree with that. bitcoin is created to be a currency that can avoid centralization to be decentralitation. But in the way of bitcoin, it was to be an investment too. also It was the best way to avoid goverment rule. the Anothe benefits of using bitcoin is we do not need to pay tax of it. bitcoin is wonderfull thing, bitcoin was increase its value. so bitcoin was created to be virtual currency that make transaction more simplier and practicaly. then it was turned to something amazing thing that very very usefull.

I agree most of the posts here. I believe that the creation of bitcoin is somewhat more focused on giving back to the people to control money without any government who interferes.  Without any taxes being imposed upon by the authories (well aside to those countries who really made its own regulations in using bitcoins. And most importantly, the creation of bitcoin made a lot of transactions fast and easy.

I think that bitcoin is created in response to the weakness of cash and credit cards. If you tell the credit card fraud and the cash has been used for illegal kegiaan possible. Excess bitcoin compared with a credit card is the protection seller. Buyers can not do a charge back. After bitcoin is sent to the recipient can not be withdrawn or derail the transaction. Bitcoin has become a phenomenon of technological progress payments. Bitcoin is designed not for a criminal offense or a violation of law. bitcoin otherwise very protective of its users because the transactions that occur are recorded and can be accessed by the public on the "Chain Block (Blockchain)".

I think satoshi was a libertarian that wanted to give people an alternative to government's financially issued currencies. He was sick of the establishment. You can sense this because he included a newspaper about the 2008 financial crash in the genesis block:

if Satoshi was looking for money the he would have dumped his coins a long time ago back in the time of $1200 level and then bough back and dumped again and again just like what many other altcoin developers are doing.

Maybe, he wanted to show the different nature of money and that it doesn't need government to exist, for example?

my thought is that you should read the bitcoin white paper.
bitcoin was created to introduce the new form of money that you said yourself too, a public ledger which is decentralized and helps us be our own bank.
I thought that Mr. Nakamoto just sick of world banking system that have enslaved their citizens under the weight of their debts.

Yes, independently of governments and being anonymous.

Yeah there are reasons why bitcoin was created. But the important thing right now are the benefits people get from it. Like the innovative ways of transferring money, paying, earning, and trading as well. The fast and good money transactions are really favorable to us in a way that we don't have to consider any third party in every deal we make such that we don't have to pay some additional payments like we usually do.

You've never fully saturated how much you can talk about how bad the government is, however it's true that Bitcoin gives the individual a ton more freedom to do whatever it is they want with their money, and aren't forced to comply with any forms of theft or similar forms of having their money stolen from them and reassigned to poor and inefficient products.

Generally it was developed by Satoshi for the purpose of eradication of unnecessary verification and to overcome various barriers set by central government. Also to transact money to other countries it's a head ache for some user so bitcoin would serve that purpose. But why actually is happening is that people are using it like gold to make profit and buy and selling goods with bitcoin is very less

I feel that bitcoin is made to simplify all transactions on the Internet, but it also created bitcoin as an investment tool. well, so with the making bitcoin, they hope that bitcoin bsia used as it is, and now it becomes the real thing, and even this possibly, exceed their expectations, because soon bitcoin will be known by the whole world

And it's not just for trading purposes or whatever you are trying to say..

Anything that has value will end up being traded, the fact that bitcoin is being treated the same as gold should tell to any of us how valuable is bitcoin for people of the world.

Satoshi did not expect Bitcoin to become this popular and he most probably wanted Bitcoin to be a virtual currency to be used for micro transactions online instead of in actual stores. Satoshi most probably wanted to offer an alternate currency that has a fixed market capital and is trustless, with all the bank bailouts.

No one usually wants their inventions to stay within small circle so even Satoshi would have explained the purposes of bitcoin for focusing micro transactions, his inner thoughts must have imagined about transactions involving trillion dollars.

Satoshi most probably wanted to offer an alternate currency that has a fixed market capital and is trustless, with all the bank bailouts.
Independent currency to get rid off PayPal type of most problematic processors, yes breaking the dominance of PayPal must be one the objective of bitcoin when we consider online usage.

Also bitcoin can be an alternate form of money especially for digital currency.

Yup, who wouldn't be proud if his creation can be beneficial to everyone and give the owner a very big advantage ..? / . all people will definitely feel something very good, however I think satoshi will not disclose ', for if that is done then there will be the possibility that bitcoin will switch to digital in the currency paid. so it will be something like paypal. the most important for me is bitcoin still gives an advantage to me

As we all  know  that  any  inventions  we  made  we   dont really expect too  much  that  it  would be successful  or  not  on the  long run. Bitcoin was  created  by satoshi  just  focusing  only on  micro payments and   online transactions  but  as we look  into  bitcoins development  ,  it really  surpasses  the expectations of satoshi  for sure and   now  hes  very proud   on his  inventions and he could  see that many  people benefit  into it.

He might have thought to create digital currency where everything can be done online. He might have thought to bring a big change in usage of currency and thought this would influence the market and BTC can become a steady currency to be used worldwide. Though it had lot struggles in the beginning, it has become a main currency with huge value.

It's clearly that bitcoin was created to be a decentralized currency, so no one or any instution controll it, i strongly believe he just want to a freedom.

I think that people here are more worried why all those altcoins are created every day rather than asking for bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a new innvoation and it's made to have a freedom of our money and making transactions less costly.
All altcoins are copy cats of bitcoin and the fact there are now too many of them, is an indication that bitcoin is such a success, nobody copies or bother to identify with failure. I think Satoshi drive in creating bitcoin wasn't essentially for profit making, but that to have effective peer to peer transaction devoured of any interference. As people began to test this invention, they realized it is an answer to so many financial issues we are have been helpless about and that's what triggered the profit and copy cats.

It has been created to 'revolutionize' the other currencies around the world. Bitcoin is almost completely anonymous (there are ways you can go for to find the wallet owners), and has an interesting way of earning it: the whole mining thing. It's the first currency to have this idea and it's awesome. I am wondering where will all this stop at.

In my opinion, Satoshi creates Bitcoin to stand as a opportunity to those people who want to earn money by just sitting in front of their computer all day. In Bitcoin there are a lot of ways to earn money and that is one of the advantage of Bitcoin. Satoshi created Bitcoin to help other people to earn money without requiring various skills because you can still earn bitcoin even though you are not good in trading because there are still different ways to earn bitcoin  ;).

Yes, the main reason that bitcoin is so popular is because there were flaws in traditional payment system in fiat currency. Bitcoin emerged with the aid to deal with the obstacles of fiat payment system. Although bitcoin is popular now, we shouldn’t forget that we are still in the beginning and yet to reach new milestones as far as global fund transfer industry is concerned. But I see a lot of people here using exchanges as a wallet and in this way we end in the same problem.

Well said, the bank as an intermediary takes a time to confirm the transaction and since bitcoin has one to one transaction system, there is no such issue of the time if sufficient fees are paid along with the transaction.
However, I think banks should allow bitcoin because that will bring more people on the bitcoin board and it will give a boost to the bitcoin user’s community and it might take a comparatively long time to do it on our strength. I believe freedom is supreme but I also think institutions like banks would help those who can’t use bitcoin technology.

Satoshi wanted people to have a way to save their wealth from financial crisis and also a way to make transactions outside of the radar of the government once they delete physical cash. He gave people a way to make themselves free from the big brother society that we are headed at.

Bitcoin was created so that people can send anonymously and fast currency or money without having to go through a middle man. That is the main concept of bitcoin, transactions are confirmed in only 10 minutes and the only real problem bitcoin faces is how to reduce that time so in real time transactions people don't have to wait at the shop before the transactions are confirmed.

Even if that was the case, and I find that thought to be doubtful, an invention can take a life on its own and do things the creator never expected were possible with it.

And it became an effective alternative for payment system of paypal. I'm thinking Satoshi and his co-devs made bitcoin to help us, people who are sick of using high charging payment processors and to have freedom in finance industry. That's why every transaction is very cheap and bitcoin itself is a currency which can counter the manipulation of government who are most of them do corruption.

Yes, I am agree with you friends. I think satoshi was made bitcoin for possitive thing.  But some of people use bitcoin in illegal transaction  like buy drugs and other negative transaction in deep web,  then make negative image for bitcoin.  Bitcoin was created to be currency but in this day bitcoin is being a commodity that really good for investment too. So many cases of government member who do corruption of the tax.

Everyone says it is not supported by gold or such, but indirectly it actually is supported by gold and such.  The money we purchase bitcoin with is supported by gold and this is just another form of currency, even if the government does not consider it currency, it can be traded for currency, so it is just as good.
I think there is a drift there, the world have actually moved on from backing currencies with gold and all what not. Almost all the currencies out there are piece of papers that could have as well ended as toilet tissues. Government declarations and people's willingness to accept those currencies are the things now backing them and that explains, why some government can go on printing frenzy regardless of the implications to their economy.

What is backing bitcoin, is the faith bitcoiners like you and I, have come to have in it. The fact, it is out of the control of any government further strengthens our commitment to it and so is the fact that it is limited in supply. Bottomline is, bitcoin was created to solve the crisis of fiat currencies and good news is that is not doing badly.

bitcoin because he want to help
other people to know that they
can transact through the internet.
And this transaction is more easier.

That is point of discussion among the crypto anarchist, some don't like to pay taxes but prefer to keep their noses clean, while others don't see avoiding taxes as a crime at all, it would have been interesting to know Satoshi opinion about it.

And we can't deny that it is created for all to use it whether it will be use for good or bad transactions, it depends upon on its users.

There are many other possible reasons why bitcoin was created other than anonymity and possibility to buy marijuana.

what bitcoin provides?
financial transparency, limited supply so no one can just print out bitcoin to increase supply like paper cash, decentralize network so you will never loss access to your bitcoin/money and you will have full control over your bitcoin rather than banks/governments handling/looking all your financial transactions.

Well, you mean that it was created by Satoshi, because he wanted to earn money? Or that Bitcoin was created for people who use it to be able to earn money. As for the first option, I think it couldn't be the main reason, because I think that people lead only by wish to earn money usually fail. There should've been some deep philosophical purpose for that. To show that our world trusts something virtual more than real, for example. If you meant the second option, then I disagree that it really helps to earn a lot.

I think bitcoin was created so that we can have an alternative and better kind of currency. You can avoid getting taxed when you're using bitcoin. It's fast and reliable too. You can easily send money abroad with just a few clicks. Bitcoin is decentralized and that just means that a part of bitcoin is meant to do the opposite of what the government does. Today, bitcoin is an investment for most and an opportunity to earn money online.

Correct with the very low transaction fees but for the exchange of slow sending and is getting scary when it takes too long so many will just prefer the higher fees. But as it goes on I think it will also grow in price, getting expensive in the future.

Adoption do rapidly increased because bitcoin features is very useful to people that's why they got easily adopted into it. Money transfers is the main thing why bitcoin is being created, as you can read on Satoshi white paper ,not only that, bitcoin project do already reach or gain extent adoption because there are already merchants do offer and accept bitcoin as a payment.

I do believe the main purpose into the creation of bitcoin were to show to people how many they waste into their transactions, bitcoin has exposed the high fees taken by several companies, besides that, showed all what a decentralization might do when no one has plenty control, this makes me thing how would be the others currencies if no one has such power over them.

Don't use argument of low transaction fees as main pro bitcoin point. Bitcoin transaction fees may vary and sometime reach pretty high numbers.
Yesterday I send transaction containing something like 8 inputs and my fee was more than one dollar.

Plus, many FIAT payment processors won't charge you anything for sending money to your friends or family either (PayPal, Amazon Payments etc.) making them cheaper that bitcoin.

It is worthless to say that " Bitcoin transaction fees may vary and sometime reach pretty much high "
Because we have the option to pay transaction charge manually ( custom ) .
So bitcoin is a way of payment with small transaction fee

That is generally true. But by manually lowering transaction fee we are substantially increasing confirmation time.
And if you are stingy to the point of not including transaction fee at all. Transaction you send might be stuck and won't reach its destination.
So tinkering with bitcoin's fees is a risky business and I would rather pay standard fee.

Bitcoin's general purpose for its creation was to provide anonymity to the transactions of two or more parties involved without letting anyone else know that such transaction was held between them, which is why it is decentralized and no one can actually know what is being done between two people.

Plus the currency that trades higher than others, I mean with bitcoins (you give to exchanger) and anything (you take ) you will always have upperhand while with paypal and others exchangers charge high fees, that shows the superiority of bitcoins over others. I think the reason behind creating bitcoins was to make a ordinary person feel special.

Perhaps, they did not predict the amount that bitcoin will rise, but maybe they did dream about it. Now this dream is a reality. I consider bitcoin as the biggest innovation in the economic area and I think Nakamoto created/invented it to make people feeling more free.

By using bitcoin you see how much the freedom worth and how comfortable are you when making bitcoin payments.

Of course bitcoin is not preferred by all people and I think the governments don't like bitcoin because people can escape taxes.

You really should read and learn before asking stuff like this. Bitcoin was created to be a currency for the people no matter where you are or lice as long as you have a PC the software and a connection to the internet you are set. No need for banking registrations or documents or fees to spend tour own money. Bitcoin was made to be in the hands of the people and not the corporate banks or the government.

The basic aim for creating bitcoins was that people can have a currency which they own, they control yet they cannot hack it or scam with it. The idea of decentralization has made most of the users adopt bitcoins.
I personally think right now in market there is no currency that is transparent (we can check balance ) yet secure as hell.

i think there are no taxes as  bitcoin is still not consider as a legal currency by most of the countries, but once it become a global currency then government will surely impost tax on bitcoin and it will no longer remain a tax free currency.

Well, perhaps correctly, that it was made as an alternative bitcoin as a payment on the internet. however, the potential of which is shown bitcoin is greater than that, and it was able to make another payment like paypal displaced. Well, probably the main purpose of which is to be made bitcoin global currency

The Internet of money bitcoin has created for making a secure transaction without no third party interference. The major advantage of bitcoin exchanges is either there is no transaction fees or very low in price.

Correct with the very low transaction fees but for the exchange of slow sending and is getting scary when it takes too long so many will just prefer the higher fees. But as it goes on I think it will also grow in price, getting expensive in the future.
Yeah another awesome feature, which other e-currency processor allows you to choose your own fees ? That's just bitcoins. Reason behind creating bitcoins by Satoshi was to give people some currency that was irreversible and transparent, maybe because Satoshi saw some scams that involved paypal and others and he thought lets create something unique.

I think it is more safe to use paypal because you can start your own charge back or dispute if you are receive nothing or missing part or any possible reason that you should give the proof that you are telling the truth..  unlike in bitcoin after sending you can reverse it back if someone are giving a wrong item or goods sometimes they are run and you can not contact it anymore this is what scammers want in bitcoin and i think this is not the reason why satoshi make bitcoin.
This is just part of his project and make a name in the internet also for his business.. this is i think the purposes..

Yes, you can choose your own fees but sometimes that.is not the best solution because if you pick the fee below recommended your transactions may never be confirmed. But stil you have the choice.
Bitcoin was probably designed as a alternative to current financial system and currencies, this should be a currency outside the centralized and corrupt banking system.

Yeah i agree that is why they are creating it because they want freedom we know many people are want freedom to use their money online or without any hassle like other currency online that it takes a long time to process before you can use them. also the good benefits is the price increase and the transaction are anonymous.

it was created because it is trustless that is writed on paper by satoshi, he want to make a trustless system, but people use it also for anonimity, both are good reason to use bitcoin instead of fiat money which are heavily tracked and controlled
Yeah actually if someone tells us that he has 2000$ we would either not trust him (because screnshots can be faked ) or if he gives access to account we can hack it, but with bitcoins we can check his balance while at the same time we don't even know where he lives or who is he !!  I have been a fan of this particular feature :)

bitcoin is suitable to be used as a means of transaction. maybe the purpose of making bitcoin is that the internet has a transaction tool that quickly and reliably. bitcoin is currently actually used as currency on the internet, other than that bitcoin has also evolved into a business tool, so now many companies that need workers who are paid using bitcoin. well, so I think bitcoin made to facilitate people - people to conduct transactions on the Internet
The reason for creating bitcoins might be to give a chance to everyone becoming rich without really investing much. I am really glad for the early adopters just one thing I am upset with is when bitcoins were created was there was no big promotion in my country and city. I really regret not buying bitcoins when it was cheap.

You really should read and learn before asking stuff like this. Bitcoin was created to be a currency for the people no matter where you are or lice as long as you have a PC the software and a connection to the internet you are set. No need for banking registrations or documents or fees to spend tour own money. Bitcoin was made to be in the hands of the people and not the corporate banks or the government.

Even me, before i also ask myself, why nskamoto xreated bitcoins? whst is his purpose? That was before when i do not know the use and advantages of bitcoins. But now ivd realise maybe bitcoin was created because nakamoto want to create money on internet, a digital currency that can be an alternative to fiat or paper money, nakamoto did not failf because bitcoins now has its uwn value like the real money.

I think Nakamoto created bitcoin in order to contribute a new kind of cryptocurrency which can be used fast and anonymously. Beyond that, Bitcoin users do not need to pay tax to use Bitcoin. And because of these reasons, Bitcoin is getting more and more popular than ever. One day, Bitcoin will be the new currency which is accepted all over the world

It does something right. However I noticed that the goal is not the rather nakamoto to provide a view that all the things we do between other countries could be done in the bitcoin in all circumstances which we are doing. All this is a concept that is very good and I thought if all countries know the true intent of nakamoto then I'm sure they will give you the best solution and no doubt bitcoin will experience growth that is very large

Banks are centralized while bitcoin is decentralized. That's the big difference and though banks promise confidentiality but we cannot trust them on that matter, there's a lot of corrupt people this world especially those who are in power and i feel safer putting my money in bitcoins than in banks.

That's not included that your personal data cannot be stolen, it depends on your negligence if you will allow those exchange sites that requires information from their customers. And it was created to be use as total currency whether your transaction will be online and offline.

Bitcoin was created to avoid any government interference all of us know they can control it easily but not Bitcoin. It is decentralized not like fiats and that's the big advantage of creating Bitcoin.

This will lead to one world government and that means that one economy, one currency (Bitcoin if possible) and one power. But I don't think the government will rely on bitcoin.
Yeah, it will be similar to the Euro, they introduce the currency and then they try to force political integration despite all the voices against it, but lucky for us bitcoin now is in the picture and we are able to escape that tyranny for the moment.

Other than all the others are mentioned above bitcoin was created because:

  • Internet nowadays is mature and stable and is spread all over the world (More than 40% globally).
  • Banks in developed countries impose policies that interfere with personal and social life of citizens gaining increasing control over their money.
  • There is a large number of people in underdeveloped countries they have not bank status. Except cash with fiat money there is no other way to transact each other.

Your first point is right but I am not fully satisfied with it because to make payment and deals we have the other better options also ( like PayPal , better etc ) .
Here the main reason only of less transaction charge and no tax .

Maybe simple put on this topic is that Bitcoin can be used to buy things electronically. Most important characteristic of bitcoin is thing that makes it different to conventional money, is that it is decentralized. No single institution controls the bitcoin network, most important BANKS. This puts some people at ease, because it means that a large bank can’t control their money. Other most important thing is that its independent of any central authority, transferable electronically, with very low transaction fees.

I have to disagree, that it is supported by gold.  I say this because you need cash of some sort to trade into bitcoin and in order to spend it at most locations, you will need to transfer it back to your currency in order to use it everywhere, not the limited spending outlets now available.

Investment would give you a good chance to be profitable, it's the only way to be profitable. You can buy bitcoins and just hold it longer, however bitcoin was not really created for investment but as an online currency we can use to transact.

I have to agree with OP and the others that its purpose is to make a decentralized currency . Since if you look back at our history, All of our currency or money that people have used are controlled by a single entity .

And I think satoshi think that as the world continues to improve its technology, We also need to improve our money which is avery important and you may even call it as an irreplaceable thing in our lives . The history shows that the transition of our form of money happened because there are flaws and Satoshi must have seen it .

Satoshi Nakamoto is an expert in science of cryptography, the science has been around longer and part falsifies the real algorithms and algebra. He found a unique crypto block in limited quantities. He is optimistic BTC useful for the transaction.

The first tangible goods transactions occurred is pizza. Laszlo Hanycesz buy two slices of pizza for $25 for 10,000 BTC. And after that sentiment bitcoin transaction usage increased dramatically, and then appeared Mt.Gox as a market exchange.

Bitcoin is one of the best inventions of all time in financial world.

It is indeed one of the best inventions concerning money, called cryptocurrencies. I learned that the inventor, Satoshi, invented it to prevent third parties from holding your money and it helps us to transact between people without go-betweens. You become your bank, and that's a great thing because people who can't open bank accounts can be their own banks by owning a wallet with just their smartphones. It could be abused, but it's their conscience.

Same as others, I think creating Bitcoin is one way of rebelling on corrupt Banking and financial system.  The main idea of decentralization is an opposite thing what the banks and government wants, centralization.  Aside from that the Bitcoin system is design so that government will have a hard time controlling Bitcoin transactions nor tracking them.

It was created by human knowledge and being realized by group of innovative individuals. It is innovated by all means that it will create a new generation of modern currency. At first it was just a test ,then as it was proven that its working now it served as link to those who use it and prefer it as there means of payment,it is decentralized and nobody owns it.As it grow with the length of years it was used by many who knew it already,it gives an easy definition of easy transaction and payment.

Bitcoin is created for a reason, may the reason is like what you said it , to earn some money just only paper money found on the network. Maybe also bitcoin created by Satoshi Nakamoto to have it owned money. Like in the USA their money is dollar, and the Philippines their money is peso and the last, it is also made the bitcoin to be familiar to people in the world.

Do you really think he had any intention to get rich of Bitcoin!
Ok excluding that point I can say rest what you written is absolutely true!
Bitcoin was created as a thunderclap to old, slow, centralized, manipulative Banking System. It was created to give real power to one holding currency who can use it without any restrictions.

I don't think Satoshi's intention was to make lot of money because he has not spent anything from his wallet yet and I think he wanted to create a parallel system of economy, free from third party control. Bitcoin is free from the control of the government or any third party and hence the popularity is increasing day by day. Bitcoin was created to keep our control on our money.

Bitcoin was mainly created for decentralisation of currency. Main aim was to free the people from depending upon banks for each and every transactions. Additionally,it has given an opportunity of earning to people all over the world irrespective of caste, creed and nation. People can send their money even abroad very quickly and at very low charges.

There are different opinions about why bitcoin was created and some of the reason are because Satoshi Nakamoto's goal is to help the poor peole and give them the opportunity to become rich and  aside from this, the decentralization of the monetary system!

Satoshi talked about decentralized cash, but he didn't realize big blocks run in server farms are the opposite of cash since the network is centralized. Thank god blockstream came to the rescue with LN solution. It's definitely better than server farms running nodes. Of course ideally we would have decentralized onchain cheap transactions but can't be done.

I partially agree with your statements. I cannot understand the description that bitcoin is elegant but surely is not anonymous. It is pseudonymous. You can say that is anonymous under the rationale sending and receiving without identifying personal information. But if you do any purchases online you have to reveal your real name and address, so your identity is linked with your bitcoin wallet. Moreover bitcoin was not created for every day transactions that is, micro payments. If bitcoin was a good solution for these payments there was not any reason people try to implement solutions like as lightning networks and side chains.

By the word decentralized is what serves its purpose. Satoshi was maybe sick of economy that is controlled by government and some huge banks.
So having a money that isn't centralized and that everyone can take part of its value and the quantity is exactly the way its been since the creation - 21M. With such supply, there is no way an authority can create more coins of their own.

I think bitcoin is created to show how corrupt is the current finance system and at the same time solve several finance issue regarding centralization and finance control. Bitcoin was probably created for  online peer to peer transactions which would reduce the burden and barriers set by government of various countries. At the same time, the creator wanted to tell the people that it does not a central authority for a currency to function.  With that in mind bitcoin was created with decentralized nature.

I do not think they created it to make a lot of money. Because it is not possible to predict that bitcoin will gain such a value. People who create bitcoins are people who want to oppose the system. They wanted to create a transparent system that is not controlled by any power. And they did it.

I agree in all over bitcoin can replace fiat money and banks but in terms of security bitcoin has the lowest of all. So if the bitcoin wallet creator add security features in bitcoin like in the paypal when you can get back the money if that is scam. And if that creator do that the I can say bitcoin can surely replace fiat money and banks all over the world if that will not happen ai think it will only surpass tha quantity of it. So let's wait for bitcoin security to improve and upgraded more.

I think Satoshi had enough of banks and fiat being manipulated by different people and governments. So he/they decided to make a decentralized currency that couldn't be manipulated, even though the Chinese sort of are, and a currency that you could store for yourself and not have to deal with banks. But I guess we will never know the motivation of the making of Bitcoin until and unless he/they go public. Which they probably never will.

This is freedom actually, we know that government are corrupt and they are in power so it would be easy to control us, even lies can be truth when it is publish in the media. They have the power and resources to manipulate things and people will follow. Bitcoin is a treat to them and they are looking the weakness more on in than the advantage to discourage people from using it.

It's is created for us to have an alternative to stocks or maybe a currency that can be spend through online . Satoshi did a really good job about it because he helps a lot of people by earning bitcoins through this forum and other sites that pays bitcoin. Bitcoin is also the future money for us. Bitcoin also has expensive value since it's price is higher than the value of a cash money that's why it is easy to adopt. Maybe it wasn't created as an alternative to currency otherwise there wouldn't be a limit of maximum bitcoins in the world

I don't think also that its for online shopping. It could be for easy payment transactions. It can convert into all fiats, it does lot of payment services . It offers easy services too like eloading and for gambling or betting games, we don't need to go too far or to paid more transaction fees. So for me it is for easy and convenient transactions ,the reason also why I'm using it other than I earn from it.

OP said right words, bitcoin is really one step forward. Now just bitcoin, blockchain is revolution, because I think there will be place for other alt-coins. They are surviving and some of this coins are making some progress as I see. Bitcoin is created to make money transfers more easier for all the people, and decentralization is something that can provide transparency in global economy.

Probably not for everyone, the price may rise but it's not expected that everyone is making money with that price increase. Everything requires to do it with timing, we have to follow what basic principle tells us to do which is to" buy low and sell high", no specific price as it depends on how we manage it.

An alternative payment which has p2p system, my first thought was a transparent transaction to everyone without revealing user identity (anonymous). The idea of course to created decentralized currency without interfere of Central banks or government to rule it.

I think that bitcoin was created so that we can move to an advance and modern era of using crypto currencies
so that we shift from fiats to digital currencies

for transactions in which we don't need to reveal our idenity and go smoothly

the banks could not freeze our accounts now and we could actually use our money in the way we want

so that miropayments across the globe would become possible without high taxes

as it is decentralised so no single person can control it and so government or other banks just do not interfere

I think that people here are more worried why all those altcoins are created every day rather than asking for bitcoin.
Bitcoin is a new innvoation and it's made to have a freedom of our money and making transactions less costly.

Probably not all community, Altcoin in some other ways has positive side. Like for me, I'm one of the community here that don't have a capability to buy 1 bitcoin directly especially now the price is too high, only can't afford people can buy it. But with altcoin, I can buy for a cheap price then it could be multiply x10 or more. Then with it happen to sold it, I had now a capability to avail buying of bitcoin aven a little bit. Though most of alts are shitcoins, which i cannot deny it.

Correct. Now it can be used for anything and it will continue to grow from day to day.
Still most of his usage is in gambling over 60% but that can be changed in time. think that in several year ratio will be 40:40:20, 40 gambling 40 buy/sell and 20 rest of it.

I think Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto He made Bitcoin to create something new, earning a lot of money is just a secondary of his purpose. Maybe He saw that many people in the whole world suffering poverty because of financial problems. So Bitcoin is one the keys solution and that was happening already now.

Its not created to benefit his family and business alone, if so they could have got a patent for the technology or the innovation. That might be true that Satoshi is the one who holds the largest volume of bitcoin that's been mined.

In my opinion the bitcoin was created to voice up an opinion about the current financial sittuation. It was designed to be a crowd funding project of rising the awareness of lack of participation how the world economics develops.

It might evolve to or is a scream of a deft person in the middle of the jungle, but it was worth to try at least.

Its like a scream of "Im mad and I wont take this anymore" from a Network movie if someone still remembers.

I do not think they created it to make a lot of money. Because it is not possible to predict that bitcoin will gain such a value. People who create bitcoins are people who want to oppose the system. They wanted to create a transparent system that is not controlled by any power. And they did it.
I heard that bitcoin is just an experiment but they are not expecting that bitcoin can be increase the value more.. this is just like the life of the owner of facebook.. oid you know how facebook start friendster and yahoo is the number use by people because of the owner of facebook is created a facebook that you can chat and post picture and send some pm.. so bitcoin is just like an experiment that didn't expect what will happen in the future..

Experiments have an aim. It may have been experimentally done in Bitcoin at first. But the purpose of this experiment was to change the current monetary system.

Today, bitcoin is far beyond being an experiment. No need to wait for the future. Bitcoin is a technology that has changed our lives even now.

Unfortunately, this occurs in any market. The best thing to do is to strive to be among the first who understand the events that define market directions. Even if the forecasts can not be made accurately, the greater the knowledge, the lesser risks of suffering major financial losses. It is also important not to get discouraged in the first steps, which are usually more difficult. Even the most successful traders have experienced problems in the early stages.

He created it and I do not think it was just a random idea that he planned.. I guess Bitcoin was the result of years of work, not just a few days because there are no issues with it, it's just perfectly created. He should've known the potential of it since he released it online, because Bitcoin can be used for so many things. I just think about it and I already get dozens of situations and ideas where Bitcoin can be used. I think Satoshi was a person who wanted freedom and anonymity. It doesn't mean he is a criminal, he probably wanted to only stay away from the control.
