Title: NVIDIA 750Ti Help
Post by: knightkon on October 06, 2016, 09:07:19 PM
I installed a NVIDIA 750Ti in my computer to learn more about mining.  I was told I should be getting around 2-4 Mh/s from this card.  I am only getting 1.3 to 1.35 Mh/s.  Is there something I need to do to increase this or should I not be using minergate to mine?  Any assistance would be great.

Try using Claymore's miner or sgminer-gm.

Both miners should give you higher hashrates than Minergate, but don't expect much out of a 750Ti, I've been told they are not good for ethereum anymore. you might want to mine Monero instead.

I heard Monero went under???
Eitherway, how do I use those links to mine?

Monero is okay, the price went down after it was dislisted from darknet markets.
To use those miners, you need a pool and a wallet, I recommend ethermine.org and myetherwallet.com, there's a guide in Claymore's thread on how to setup the miner after you have those two.

Would I be better mining Monero then?  If so, where do I get that information?  Also, which claymore do I downloan, I am using windows 10

Download the latest windows version. and yeah, I think Monero is more profitable with your card.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=638915.0 - this is claymore's cryptonote miner, which can be used for Monero. you'll need a wallet and a pool, as well.

Though Ethereum is more profitable, 750 Ti has some problem with it because of its low amount of GDDR5 memory. You better mine other algorithms instead.

A 2GB 750 ti is ballpark a 210 h/s Monero card out of the box (depending on model) - at it's power consumption, that makes it very efficient (though overall SYSTEM power consumption isn't good).
IIRC the top-end cards are generating less than 1kh/s on Monero (possibly exception for some of the dual-GPU type cards).

It's about a 3 Mh/s card as of a month ago on Ethereum, which is rather poor for the cost of the card and it's power usage.
Even going with the same-generation GTX 950 jumps the Ethereum hashrate up to about 10MH/s out of the box for VERY little more money.
