I really love it and hope that bitcoin may reach more than 700 Dollars per btc because i had invested my money on bitcoin. I have few tens dollars in bitcoin on my bitcoin wallet.
But in the other side i sad enough because the alternative coin else has fallen the price few percent. I also have investment in ethereum.
If the price of ethereum decrease, it means i lost profit from trading alternative coin or i can said as my is trading lose.

When prices rise very high, very fast, it always scares me.  It doesn't matter if it's stocks or precious metals or whatever, rising too fast isn't sustainable.  I'm not a good short-term trader, but of a buy-and-hold type of person.  But props to anyone here who can make a few bucks off of this action.

I think red times are coming for all alts. Once BTC starts going towards the new all time high, we will see a lot of alts going negative because people want to be part of the new moon trip.

Just checked "http://fiatleak.com/" and I couldn't agree further that the Chinese are responsible for the sudden increase, but let's pray it keeps going up for some weeks ahead.

Fiat leak shows exchange traffic, and from what I've heard, a lot of the Chinese exchanges move coins around to increase their daily volume.
Still, there is definitely some accumulation going on in China.
I wouldn't be surprised if we hit $700 in the next few weeks.

Not sure what this means for the alt-coin market,
but it seems like recently it causes the major coins with high volumes of trading to lose a bit of value.

i am not sure that btc will reach that price but the sign for the increase is really positive and better we take a look in 1 or 2 days next and we can see how much higher the price will be. i hope it can reach as many people predict.

It is not something sudden, bearish trend was present all that time. Market was trying to consolidate before advancing to new high - we reached $675.
Price now drooped a little, but this gain was not some random price spike - it happened as foretasted judging by last week charts.

earlier i thought that this price will remain stable at about $630 / btc but within less than the change in the price about 20$ makes my thinking and prediction of Price about Bitcoin changes .

Don't 'invest' what you cannot afford to lose. If you are investing small amounts (tens of dollars) I think you are better investing in a promising and low cap project (do your research). Look at BCT, Cryptocointalk, digest the website, check out the GitHub, get the buz from slack, reddit, twitter etc. Sign up with the exchange the coin is on and watch the message box (if they have one).

this is not news, bitcoin has been rising for a rather long time with a very stable and slow upward trend and these $20-$30 are too late and they should have happened already.

I saw the jumping price yesterday from 630+ to 650+ and we are lucky that the price is increase right now its just a small amount but for people who are holding a good amount of bitcoin they can sell bitcoins right now and make $20+ profit times how many bitcoin they are holding..

Since quite some time BTC prices are around 600 to 650 range, and it is fluctuating in that range and only last couple of days it went up to 670. But today already it is around 650. Prices about 650 are sustaining for a longer period so it may take some time to reach 700 mark and I don't it will happen in next month. Even it happens but may not survive for a longer period.

yes its right, and i hope that the price will be increase more. so for the rate now, i think many people will be happy and make some cash and get ready for another down side to buy.

bitcoin price increase does not occur if there is nothing to have an impact. there are a couple of things and it should we keep the trend. continue to develop bitcoin, and bitcoin we will get a better price.

i think this is wrong, we don't need a good news every time we want to see bitcoin increase, i think bitcoin should increase regardless of this, and only because more people are willing to use it, and their friends also join this great world

Bitcoin's price is now osculating around $650. Exactly the same price which bitcoin traded at over the course of the day Bitfinex was hacked.
It is too early to assume this price will be stable and is now solid bottom price line but market seems to be getting ready to advance further.
I don't know if that is a pure coincidence but with approaching winter bitcoin price is always gaining an upward momentum.

Two big price pumps in end of this year, it is very nice to see such pump. But to reach $700 still need next two such big pumps like before which may come by november.

If we look at the price movements after the last halving 4 years ago, now is about the same time we started to see a significant rise. I hope history can repeat itself, it'd be great to see us test $800 before New Year.

Yes seems the effort of people behind bitcoin promotion is paying now.  I seen lots of company especially the new established one are always considering bitcoin as one of their mode of payment.  Those who are in doubt about it are now one of the supporter and active promoter of bitcoin by integrating bitcoin to their system.  And I like the growth of bitcoin, slow growth not just sudden pump then dump.

Youre typo coz you  mentioned  $559 instead  of  $669. You are  right  movement  of  bitcoins price  as  of now  seems  to little  bit fast  compared  on  to previous months which  we could somehow say  that it would  possibly reach $700 in no time  but  i dont  think  that it would reach $1000 in  this year maybe  in next year would be possible.

700 is a nice gain for bitcoin, definitely needed since it still is on that long road to recovery from years ago around this time.

Bitcoin get rising towards the end of the year,  and dropped a lot in the end of the year bounce back two or three months later.

Now bitcoin amazingly rise up very fast and it is really good for us, Because last few months bitcoin price stable, and thank God bitcoin move on. Now it seem that in the end of October, may be bitcoin cross $700, if bitcoin continuously grow up. So it is a good chance to increase your profit. I was thinking that few months ago, some members predict that in the end of this years bitcoin would be reached at $700 to $800, So i think they are right.

I think 1k value for this year is impossible to reach. I feel that the price will touch in 700 value this coming month's and thinking also to see the price will touch in 800 value.. this is more possible to happen than 900 value above.

There will not be no point in speculating bitcoin prices to continue up surging when you are not sure about faith on bitcoin ecosystem in coming days. Because only based on the belief on bitcoin system by people, the price of bitcoin is getting appreciated. At the same time, there are no backing factors that may collaspe the faith on bitcoin system. Surely bitcoin will keep on rice.

Wet dreams. Nothing fundamentally to support your claim, at the moment. I doubt we top $800 for the maximum of this year. That itself is already a very nice score compared to where we were last year.
But I am rather sceptical, and don't see currently a reason for a massive inflows of new money into Bitcoin. Not yet.

I don't know for sure why the price could rise up so fast in few days, one day I saw it $650 and then next day turn into $670-680.
The increasing price makes us very excited and want to sell coin if it reaches a certain point and avoid losses due to price declines.
I will hold my coins until the time I need it, even for years. I considered it as my savings and long term investment, because if I convert it into cash right now, who knows when the money will run out in my hands.

I think it will stop soon anyway. There is nothing fundamentally behind this rise. Yet another pump attempt, let's see how fat it can go. I wouldn't be that surprised if we go down to $650 and then towards $600 in the weeks to come.

I wouldn't say there's nothing to support the rise: There are several things to support the rise:
1. Segwit, and other scaling projects.
2. A robust decentralized exchange ecosystem of dozens of exchanges included licensed exchanges and exchanges backed by banks.
3. World events.
4. 3 years without a new ATH. The price needed to stop and take a break to actually grow in value and fill in the chart, and now plenty of time for that to occur has passed.
5. TA.
6. The halving

It is very possible to reach 700 USD before 2nd week of november.  There are news about certain people in some countries, securing their wealth by purchasing bitcoin.  I just hope this scenarion wont create unnecessary bubble but a steady price increase instead.  800 USD is on the line after BTC reach 700 usd and 800 USD is very possible this year too.

Yes I think in november bitcoin prices will rise above $ 700 and of course with fluctuations, so it takes time. It would be very good for us because it will be very profitable if the price of bitcoin rise and continue to rise above $ 700. It is also good for the traders, they certainly benefit.

Actually bitcoin is already  trading at more than $700.  the next target will be $800 at the end of this year.  I think bitcoin will revisit $680 before settling to its new  floor of $700-$750.  As predicted by few analyst, we might see some correction before it settles to $700 and move up to $800 at the end of this year.

Not sure what to say. But about the future of bitcoin this rise and the falls are not quite good. Think about if this is normal to happen if bitcoin will be in the real world. That could mean World War 3 if this happend with dollar too. Well this happened with gbp these days but for sure here is a big difference. If the bitcoin will be got my government or anything like this for sure the price will become more stable. Just trading the coin and changing the value after the will of some one it is not good for users that are really trying to do investments.

2. There are more exchanges now, including an announcement about one backed by a bank.

4. More time as passed allowing consolidation from the 2013 bubble.

1. AFAIK SegWit is not officially released yet. Until people will see that this upgrade has positive impact on the network bitcoin price won't move.
2. And at the same time more exachages is being hacked: the most recent hack - Bitcurex exchange - hackers stole 2500 BTC.

Reading this qoute simply means that bitcoin will rise to 800 USD easy.  With the segwit being implemented soon  and if it is successful ( i hope) , may become a big hype for bitcoin.  I agree that there are more and more exchange for bitcoin  because they see the potential and the needs for more exchange to transact bitcoin.  And the bitcoin price this time will not a manipulation.  it will be a natural growth.

As mentioned bitcoin won't take time till the year end to reach $800, as the increase is happening very fast than the increase that happened before the recent decrease. Possibly due to the continued rise people had started to sell their hard earned bitcoins. This had increased the circulation which is also an reason for the ongoing price increase.

I don't think its a bubble, since it seems to be consistently growing at a natural rate.

If there was a sudden 20-30% spike I believe we could easily lose that value,
but this feels like a slow and steady move to the $800 area.

It has always shocked me how news can affect so much the price of bitcoin. I guess this is because it is not in so many hands... there are relatively few bitcoin users and they panic or get excited at the smallest piece of news.

Nothing will affect because of news. Due to supply and demand only determine bitcoin's value in the world market. However for all thus we need some quite good adoption from the potential people or potential companies. I wish all the mobiles and car companies should adopt and accept bitcoins.

It would just be a bubble if it reaches 1000$ this  year, then correction will come and will be stuck at a price. So it is better for me if the price just steadily increase slowly. It will be slow but at least we will not suffer a very long correction period.

It's absolutely no coincidence that always when the price goes up nicely, that something happen where the price goes down again. You shouldn't be shocked at all. Just use this well known uccurrence in your advantage to make good profits in a fairly short time.

Every time such disappointment won't happen. This year people expected a very big price just because of halving. But due to the gradual increase price at least reached a certain level on halving. I don't think it's all related to the soon to come activation of segwit. It's more a combination of a fantastic sentiment, people expecting the price to rise at this part of the year, indeed the activation of segwit, legit demand from certain countries as result of certain governmental laws, etc. The current price increase isn't very special. They are assuming that Bitcoin price falling is due to many factors, the devaluation of yuan, the decree of the Indian government and the uncertainity caused by Donald Trump's presidency. All those factors affected the digital currencies one way or another.

You are maybe right, but this drop down is actualy very small so this doesn't have to mean that the price will continue to go down. I would say, this is volatility, completely normal for bitcoins. At this situation I wouldn't sell my coins, I will hold them. The rise will follow.

     Hold it until you can. I saw a member here on forum who stated he is not spending all his earnings until 2018. Bitcoin is not just any crypto, it can now be use for everyday expenses. Can even shop with it. Even in Dubai U.A.E. they started to use bitcoin. So hold it and wait for the $1000 price. But once it reach that amount, will be followed by a short term collapse again.

At the end of the year bitcoin price will totaly hit $800-$900 this is really great as far as we can see the bitcoin price is at range of $735 and he already broke the line of the speculation that bitcoin price will stock at $700 dollar we wish that in the year of 2017 bitcoin will be great and more expensive so that we can earn more.

      That is the my same message 3-4yrs ago. I have arround $1500-$2000 that I could have spent for bitcoin but chose not to because I doubt that it will boom. Unfortunate for me though it was, its not yet late. Life is a gamble, those who can take risks, get the best out of life. Why would you expose yourself to the risk of investing in casino bankrolls? Returns are very low if you stick to investing low amounts, plus the fact that a different party is having full control over your coins. Isn't that something that should discourage you from investing in casino bankrolls? It's not worth the risk and time you have to wait before you get some sort of a profit (if you end up making profit at all). Better invest in yourself by learning trading. That's much better than having different parties controlling your coins.

Sorry to disappoint but Bitcoin will continue rising and then falling a bit or a bit more.Meaning it will be volatile for a long time with boom and bust cycles.
And Bitcoin is way more than just a currency! I myself don't see it as a currency that much in the moment, but more as an vehicle of speculation for traders and as an long term investment with massive potential for future growth, sure, combined with some high risk which you should take into consideration.Therefore only invest cash which you can afford to lose.But it's definitely worth this risk.
Or ask some developers what they see in Bitcoin? For them it's a technological tool they can use to build and implement their business ideas on for services which which couldn't have been realized or able to exist before that.
To make it short: Bitcoin will keep on rising!

Well, I think people constantly feel that they need to put their coins to work whilst being invested in whatever site or service. Simply holding is what they consider to be a waste of time and boring as the number of their coins don't increase. The option for these people is either to trade, or choose the easiest way, which is investing them somewhere. Risks are something they don't think about as they only see $$ signs.

After few days of stability, once again the price has started to increase crossing the $750 barrier. Right now price is continuing to increase and might touch $775 soon as $762 is already crossed. This might be the start for the year end price increase as price started to increase from 1st of December.

Who is driving the price up right now?
Are people in India starting to panic and grabbing BTC to try and hide their wealth?
Chinese miners trying to corner the market?
I'm actually surprised the price is going up so soon to Christmas. People in the west are spending all their money on presents and travelling for the holidays, so I would assume its buyers in the East- asia specifically, driving the market.

It must be the east. I didn't buy any bitcoins recently so it must not be the west ;) haha. No but seriously I can't see people investing before Christmas. It's just not how the masses work. Going out on December 15th to get a loan, now that's how the masses work (or hell, why not just put it on credit cards. Santy Claus will make it all better).

Its really making really big i was thinking buying more and more but i have limited money now its really rising hope it will really reach 1000$ before the end of this year or in the first quarter.

I think in late January this year it was $925 and that was considered very high by some.
Maybe above $800 would be too much for people to buy 1 whole bitcoin but some can afford it like myself.

For the users that want to sell their bitcoin, it is worth the wait. If bitcoin reach a prize of $1000?? I think i will start selling my bitcoins in the market. Thats a good one right, I will sell it for maybe $970 to $980 and start earning more bitcoins.

The bitcoin keeps rising and I think that its good, it has a good market and is getting more popular and known everyday and due to that people will also invest more.

It is normal with BTC we always had pump going on during winter season. It is like tradition for us. Soon after new year price usually drop pretty substantially.
If you want to earn quick buck, buy BTC now and sell early in 2017.

I think we are going to see a repeat of what happened last time, an all time high. I see it reaching 1100+ by the end of January. but then people that bought it at that price, and whales will flood the market and drop it down and by 4/20 it will be under 420. I dont see enough uses or adaptions of the coin for it to deserve a steady price of 1k+

It is getting scary this time of year actually. Because of wanting to save money instead of spending it for other things at the end of the year. With this sudden price increase one doesn't really know where their priorities lie.

Stop lying. On January 31, 2016, btc price was $365, nowhere near $925.

We are going to have a few more good days of high btc price. In a few days, btc price is going to TANK. We are going to crash all the way down to 350 or even lower. By mid-January 2017, we will be at 300-350. With no "halvening" in 2017, it's going to be a tough year for btc.

I don't think many people are struggling with that. It's actually very simple. The current price offers a great opportunity for people to secure profits at, or to spend their coins in Bitcoin accepting web shops. If you prefer to hold your coins longer to see where the price is heading to, then it's fine too. I however don't really recommend buying at current prices if you look to make a short term investment. Especially when you consider that the price can't keep going up without experiencing a decent correction. If you look to buy, then wait for the price to come down. It will happen, just have some patience.

Well I am just going by my own personal experience and this is how I would handle it.
Everybody has there own way to deal with situations like this when the price rises so fast. They go into panic mode and then all logic goes out the window.
What one needs is a strategy plan put in place so when it does happen they know what to do and when to do it.

I meant beginning of January. Because I remember wanting to buy some and it was too high for me to afford it.
Then i remember waiting a few weeks later (three weeks maybe) and then it did drop by alot.

Now still it is good for us, that bitcoin is a in good position, but in the same time, we never forget that now the last month of this year has come, and now bitcoin couldn't cross $ 1000, So i think we should live in reality, and see what is happening now, because i can guess that in the new year 2017 might be possible that bitcoin would be down. So no need to fly in the sky.

And it did...getting closer to 800...inching towards the 1k level.

I guess, for the current bitcoin prices stabilized at the price of $ 760. The price is high, but, I feel that the price of bitcoin will definitely be higher. This time, the month of December has not much effect on the price of bitcoin, however, I predict that, bitcoin prices will go up on 20 December

   Gift is when ever price is going up. Looks like price started to increase in beginning of November, and since then btc is growing and every week price is higher.
   I will take special attention on price that day, you say on December 20 price will go up more, let's see how good predictor you are.

You know that you are talking about almost 30% price rise here? It is not possible unless we will see amazing bitcoin news or huge anti-FIAT news.
