I want to share my experience with PowerBet.IO and my opinion

My first impression was: Great, a Bitcoin bookie with good looking and intuitive site, good odds and good limits.

But then read about their TOS: One account per person and requiring documents for KYC (ID + Utility bill). Then they decided to remove the KYC procedure so they become one step closer to a real Bitcoin bookie.

And I moved a part of my bets there - I have a series of big losing bet and series of big winning bets in last 3-4 days.
Till today: when my account was limited to 50 mBTC in bets per event, including tonight's Championship League.

When I ask why? I got their response:


So till I was losing with big bets, I was recreational player. When I won 4-5 big bets, I become an problem.

My final conclusion: Don't bet there! Because at every point you could become "not-recreational" and get limited. There a lot of bookies like NitrogenSports and FairLay where you could have as many accounts as you want and never get limited!

In matter in fairness: I don't have any problems with deposit and withdraws. Withdraws are instant. The problem here is that PowerBet are bringing fiat practices into bitcoin world - like restricting players to one account, limiting anonymity and limiting accounts. Their odds and site are good, but more and more bookies like PowerBet.io and Coinbet24 are trying to screw the whole bitcoin principles. And I cannot support this.

Very interesting end of TOS

    On request, the customer shall undertake to provide a copy of an official photographic identification document (passport, driving license, personal ID card) before the withdrawal will be processed.

On the first part, we do hope to never be forced to enforce the rule. However, it's a common safeguard to protect us against abusers such as persons that could potentially have a direct implication with certain sport events. It is extremely unlikely that we'll ever have to force a regular player to provide identification.
For the second part, a player joining us now would have to worry sometimes in 2019 provided he deposited but didn't use the funds to place any bets for 30 months. Really curious what bothered you with this rule?

I don't think many people will want to submit their ID or driving license for verification before they can withdraw, that is why it is a Bitcoin casino :D

Only email verification is needed in order to enable withdrawals, which are instant.

The ID verification, again, would be enforced only on suspicious activity such as a player betting only on the same team and always wining - which would allow us to conclude that the player could have a direct relationship/influence on that team's results. It's an extremely rare situation that we didn't want to overlook.

I would say what you need now is to just go back to the terms and edit that part and thank you to the person that could take time to read the terms and bring out that part because most people will definitely not read it but when issues happens you start seeing quotations from the terms which I have accepted to without even knowing existed in the first place as we have equally seen on some sites on the forum.

@op I personally see it as wickedness if you cant ask for that when I am depositing but want to put that when I am withdrawing...

The terms are okay as long as you guys don't enforce it like Bitstarz.

Normally, we wouldn't comment on a personal opinion, but in your case it seems to be either coming out of error or shilling hate (we were expecting a pretty strong shill hate since we've come up with a better betting website than most of our competition).
You completely misunderstood by mistake or (much more likely) intentionally our TOS and our website functionality. Personally, I think it's the shill alert level that determined your post. And here it is why:
- you started accusing us of looking for excuses to refuse to pay a winner, intentionally(?) ignoring the bolded statement in your own quote: "Only email verification is needed in order to enable withdrawals, which are instant.". So maybe you care about explaining how we refuse to pay a winner that already cashed out his winnings through our automated system?
- you mentioned confiscation (?) while the concerns expressed (legitimately) were about ID verification - concerns to which we already responded explaining our policy, which doesn't involve "confiscation"

To be honest, this should really be the last "hate" attempt. We understand people grow fond or are directly invested with other brands, but at least try to base your accusations (masked as personal opinions) on facts?

We just came up with a better website from many points of view and we're confident an erroneous "personal opinion" won't have the impact its author hoped for :)

At my point, the problem with all these new bitcoin bookies, is that they are buying some platform(feed provider like SwissPlay or UltraPlay) and transferring Fiat Bookies TOS into Bitcoin world. Without any adaptation, just bringing all the fiat negatives. Check for example PowerBet.io, CoinBet24.com, 1xbit (clone of 1xbet with many scam accusations) and for example NitrogenSports or FairLay.

In order to be able to offer you the best btc sport betting platform with a 1st deposit bonus that requires just 6X rollover and it's entirely automated, we have to put in place measures against potential abusers such as persons trying to create multiple accounts in order to benefit the bonus offer multiple times.

Then change TOS to make it more attractive for bitcoin users:

1. For bitcoin users who doesn't use any bonus - no such shits like KYC. Like Nitrogen and Fairlay and other big names.

2. Possible KYC for bonus users.

Your concept color does not attract me at all. Well, i find that many other sites using the same script as your site. So how will you manage your site to beat the other site ? It is very sad that your site only contains 4 language for players. Try to increase this number :)

But I have seen some other gambling services enforcing KYC rules when they didn't like that customer got extremely lucky...

The only required fields are: username/password/email/dob and acceptance of ToS. And a re-confirmation: yes, a player can withdraw his player account funds at any point without affecting the bonus balance.

The minimum odd for a bet to be accounted for rollover is 1.8. Of course, you can place bets with lower odds, but they will not be accounted for rollover progression.

It's a decision in a right direction - for bitcoin betting.

As you bonus is auto-credited, but it's NOT auto-activated, I could suggest you :

1. Player could have as many accounts as he want, like Nitro, FairLay and so on, but:
a. If player/account never used a bonus - you can't require a KYC. You are obligated to pay player winnings as they are made solely with his own money.
b. If player/account is using the bonus and you have your doubts - you have the right to require KYC.

By this, everyone whom wants to bet anonymous and doesn't want just to screw you with bonus - he can. But you still be able to stop bonus abusers.

Withdrawals made from player account have no effect over the bonus balance. Meaning you can withdraw from player balance at any point and your bonus balance will be the same.

"Place bets equal to your bonus amount from your player account." So if I lost you will return my money like a money-back guarantee OR if I win you will just double my winnings? I think this is a bit complicated especially to less fluent English speaking people.

There are two separate balances: player balance and bonus balance. In order to be able to start using your bonus balance to place bets, you have to place bets from player account equal to the bonus amount, at a minimum odd of 1.8. Once the bets placed from player account that are required to activate the bonus balance for betting are settled (won or lost), you can start using your bonus balance to place bets, while you can also immediately withdraw any available amount in your player account, with no effect on your bonus balance.
When a player achieves the required rollover (6X) on the bonus balance, the entire bonus balance will be automatically transferred to player account, becoming available for withdrawal, etc.

NBA Philadelphia 76ers vs Orlando Magic (https://powerbet.io/sports/296/events/2159333), odds 1.82 | 2.12, our margin is 2.115%

Also, odds keep changing in time, so at some point, the margin might decrease considerably on the same market.

One question, how do you calculate the margin 2.115% from 1.82/2.12, IMO the margin is 1.82+2.12=3.94, margin should be 3%. Please correct my way if i am wrong

Also I could recommend you to 'simplify' your funds/withdraw structure/chain as paying $0.67 on auto-withdraw is too much (because of over a 1.2K transaction size). For example I usually make 2-4 deposits/withdraws every day. And it's abusive if somebody decide to screw you on transactions.

The website is temporary down due to a critical server update (unscheduled). We're working on restoring it and should be up again shortly. This is not related to JS.
Regarding the transaction fees, we're prioritizing the speed of withdrawals. Besides automatically and instantly processing withdrawals, paying a decent fee so our players could receive their wins in a timely manner is not a problem for us!

I say this casino have very good odds and most of the time better than Sportsbet, especially Directbet. Sportsbet is more friendly with the automatic search engine and notification when winning a bet. The only thing this casino lacks in my opinion is aggressive marketing. Promo are not attractive enough I guess. I think hosting a tournament here in bitcointalk will be great.  ;D   

Sportsbet is a competitive site for powerbet and I am using sportsbet and have not faced any issue at there. Today I will try powerbet and will see that how is it different from sportsbet. and for marketing you are right the site really need some marketing over the forum so that every person know about powerbet as not every member of the forum come to here.

That is really a bad experience of you with with these situations no one will try to bet there. They have to know that on here there is a competition to them so they have to be more better in competence with other bookies and have to provide more facilities to their players so that no one after that say good bye to them.

They limiting one account for each person because they scare people are abuse their promotion like 100% bonus or 50% on parlay. By creating more account you could win like a lot from here. And that what makes people think they dont have enough bankroll to make payout for people. By limiting people, their site wont go anywhere. I never played on site that have little limit, more over if they restrict people by their account

I have heard that problem for the first time as me and some of my friends are betting on this site but do not have faced any issue from them. some of the users often claim that their accounts are limited or for any other issues I think it is because of they do not follow the rules of the site.
