I am thinking of buying an engraved wallet into jewellery for my GF. But I am not sure.

I think it's a little tacky but could be a cute little gift, with bitcoin still pretty unpopular I do not know if she would really appreciate it.

What do you think? She knows what BTC is and a BTC holder herself, but she does not talk about BTC much.

You're his boyfriend and totally the girl are never interesting with the word of the technology if you're wanna for giving more for her, you can try for making a little bait for her starting your discussion about bitcoin.

It is going to be a good gift to her but the problem comes in because she know little or nothing about bitcoin, hence if you could find time to persuade her isten to you explain how good is bitcoin and what it is all about, then I think she will appreciate the gift with all happiness. Just take time in enligtening her about bitcoin system.

If the wallet is cute, she will like it. It is not important what you have engraved on it - so far it's not a scary monster :D

Very thoughtful boyfriend you are, because you are even thinking to give some gift to your girlfriend. Because even I do have girlfriend, I don't even thinking to give her some gift. But for sure if you will make it cute and explain things to her, then for sure she will appreciate the effort that you will give to her with that engraved wallet.

I think that it could work with a ring. I imagined a ring with tanzanite gem in it and the wallet engraved into the inner side of the circle.


I agree. She may keep the "cuteness" factor of the wallet more attractive than whether it also would be a BTC wallet.

So the smallest QR Wallet i can make is about 8x8mm there many different ways thats look nice for a girl and also have a wallet on it  8)

A ring is a cool idea, just don't know if it fits or will be easy to read in the future... For sure she will love it ;)

well this is quite interesting, but i like if the wallet or qr code is stapled on necklace where it covered with glass and if you want to use it or scan the qr code you should crack it, you know it such a cute gift for your girfriend or your wife and maybe someday you could pass it to your childrens in the future.

You're creating a huge security problem: First, someone has to engrave it, and see your private key. Then, since it's jewelry, she'll wear it, and more people can see the private key. And jewelry is the first thing thieves take, making it one of the least secure places to store value in.

I like the idea though :) If you use BIP38 encryption with a strong passphrase, and keep a backup of the private key, it could actually work.

Better to discuss first  about  bitcoin  into  your  girlfriend   so that  she   would really appreciate   the gift that you will  give  if she know that  theres a  bitcoin  with it because  if you  just  give it   without  any  knowledge about bitcoin then  i think  there  would be  no effect  or excitement would  be felt but  speaking on the jewelry   might get her attention for sure rather  than on bitcoin.

As you already said your girlfriend has bitcoin and knows some info about bitcoin, so she will understand what the gift is all about and she will appreciate that.
I guess that it can be a pretty good gift for your girlfriend, and she may also show it to her friends so we will have some more people who uses bitcoin.

That is so cute omg. You should totally do that for her. She loves you so anything you gibe her she will love. Dont worry about it. Bitcoin is something important to you and I am sure she knows this and only wants you to be happy.

I dont think it is tacky at all. Look st it this way. Load that wallet up with bitcoin and open it together one day. Maybe if you get married one day then you can use the bitcoin in there to pay for the wedding and you will remener back to the time you bought it for her.

Well I think this is kinda sweet, and a good idea.  You can even fund that wallet with btc if you feel like putting some to it.  I'm sure she will treasure your gift not only because you gave it to her but because there is some BTC in it (if you fund some to it). 
I can see it as a jewelry and at the same time a stash, and don't forget to pair it with another jewelry that have prv key of that wallet engrave on it :D

Yes this would be great gift dude.
I guess she will like and love it since it is personalized and most especially it is engraved with her name.
But if you want this one I can recommend you there is also a Qrypto card where she can also use, easy way transaction too for bitcoin users with multi account of she want. I think she would love it too or she is a bitcoin user, and with the use of her cellular phone.
But the best thing will be giving her your precious time and effort, that thing will melt your girlfriend’s heart as like other girls is looking for their  love ones to do for them.
Anyway good luck dude for your plan, anyway if she truly loves you she will appreciate it.

Omg, I let this thread a bit loose, I think. To be honest, I have given her the ring, already. It was similar to what dArkjON offered too, but from an acquaintance not so far from us. No hate, but it was easier to go to his workshop and show/tell him in person what ring I was looking for than discussing with someone online. My GF was melting when she saw the fine gift. Well, melting in her heart before your dirty fantasies hehe. So, I can say girls appreciate such gifts. She said she got to really like this crypto-jewellery combination idea. I wonder if I get a similar gift from her next time  ;)
