Title: Update regarding: Faucetbox, Paytoshi, FaucetHub
Post by: mexicantarget on November 07, 2016, 06:33:12 PM
So, as most of you guys know, faucetbox is closing. (Old news since yesterday)

A few hours ago, paytoshi.org posted in their official bitcointalk thread that they'll be closing their doors too, on December 14th.

I've contacted paytoshi asking them for a price for their project.

In case I'm able to acquire paytoshi.org, I'll be focusing on improvements, new faucet script and much more.
In case I'm not able to acquire it, I'm getting back to www.FaucetHub.io

I'm really hoping I'll have an answer by paytoshi in the next 24 hours, so I don't waste precious time by waiting, instead of coding. I need to know ASAP, so I can plan the future for all of us.

A lot of faucet owners and faucet users are depending from 4-5 people. The next 24 hours will be critical for all of us who run & use faucets and microwallet websites.

I hope you are able to close in this deal. May you get it at a decent enough price and paytoshi is immediately opened up for our use ! :)

Everything is conspiring at your favour mexicantarget, looks your project will become the new FaucetBox (I hope with improvements).  :)

It's a surprise for me more one Micro-Payment system closing the doors... Looks like people are really frustated with faucets these days.
I hope you make a good job, success and good luck.

Some my minds about what happened in last few days.
Two micropayments services announced about closing in period of 24 hours. It means that situation now isn't good (or maybe critical). Owners of these services invested lot of time, work and money to make it good. But they didn't managed to keep it profitable.
Mexicantarget, I'm worried how you will be able to keep Faucethub in profit (or Paytoshi if owner will sell it to you), because ad income for faucet related sites is very limited. Maybe it means bigger deposit fees, something around 5%?

Not bigger deposit fees than 1.5%.

I can't reveal anything else though. Patience. :)

I'm hoping everything will be ready on time. Time is my biggest enemy so far, that's why I'm spending less time on my sites/BCT and coding the basic stuff, until I hear some news from paytoshi folks.

Thanks man!

Hoping the same!

why not let the paytoshi to close too and use your savings to develop and improve faucethub , is it really necessary to purchase such microwallet ?

i tried to access paytoshi

This site can’t provide a secure connection

paytoshi.org uses an unsupported protocol.

my version of chrome on a xp machine can't access it but only with Mozilla is possible .
But faucethub i can visit with my chrome without any problem also faucetbox i can access (visit) without any problem too.

Therefore i suggest you to develop/improve/build from ground the FaucetHub and make it very similar to faucetbox (have you tried to make an offer to faucebox for their script not their website ?) and make it possible to be visited by any computer old or not, mobile device old or not, and forget about paytoshi.

Edit : in fact i can't access none of your faucets too from your signature, with my chrome ,only with mozilla.

Going to be not working. And unless Mexicantarget can close the deal, I think most faucet owners will try to integrate themselves with Xapo. That service still stand until today without announcement to shut their faucet division.

if xapo closes their faucets, a third party must be at work. 3 faucet providers surely would not die within this short amount of time.

I strangely agree. One down is a pity, two is curious, and three will worth questioning. But no, I don't think Xapo will turns off. They have a wallet and card division to support their faucet service. I wonder if epay will also announcing their withdrawal from business.

Unfortunately, I sent them a PM on bitcointalk, e-mailed them and tweeted to them right after they announced on bitcointalk about their service's shutdown, but no luck getting a reply.

They've stated that they're not against selling their project, so I'll wait a little bit more

yes it counts, it is very important and people with old OS can't access some websites using chrome which btw can't self upgrade anymore too.
I have tried to install MIST Ethereum wallet and got an error , so i picked up myetherwallet website but i can't so i had to use mozilla, when i said in ETH forum about my error someone replied to me :

The error you're seeing with Chrome will be "ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH". It's because Windows XP is so old that it doesn't support the correct cipher suites... :( – Richard Horrocks Jul 12 at 21:47

I would agree that Paytoshi was not very popular. Your funds might be better spent elsewhere. If you focus on your current project which already seems to be very popular I think that would be in your benefit. Now if you were to open FaucetBox that might be a little better. But in either case I would say not to purchase either site. I think the fact that they already closed might reduce their trustworthiness.
