Title: WTS - 2TB Hard Drives, Creative x-Fi, RAID card, Crysis 3 / Bioshock Coupons
Post by: marketermac on April 07, 2013, 09:02:39 PM
All prices are shipped to US48. Will send items priority mail with tracking. 5% discount if you are purchasing 2 or more items. All items to be shipped from Allentown, PA.

I am open to escrow if there is a reputable way of doing it on the site, I realize I'm new around here and I'm looking to get rid of some of my stuff and build up a reputation here. I usually unload my stuff on eBay, but if I can avoid paying 10%+ in fee's that seems like a plan to me. Link  (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=websitesnc&ftab=AllFeedback)to my eBay profile.

Only interested in BTC for the items (current Mt. Gox). Will update the thread as items sell to keep things straight.

Here is what I've got:

Would you ship to the UK cheaply? I would really like that Supermicro SAS card :)

It being software RAID I would expect that it works as 8 SAS interfaces?

Yes. I have the SAS breakout to SATA cables as well if you need those (2 of them with 4 SATA breakouts each). A small priority mail sent box is about $25 to the UK for me, but doesn't leave a lot of room to put padding in the box. Not sure of another inexpensive way to ship stuff over there unless you have a thought on that.

How much shipping to Canada for a few HDDs?

Where abouts in Canada? Shipping to Quebec (for example) is only $22 for a 5lbs box that could have a few HDDs in it via UPS.

Your GUIminer is what I'm using to mine LTC on right now (and it's been super helpful to get me started) so for you I'll ship up north free of charge. You're shipping BTCs are no good here :) Which ones were you interested in?

If that Seagate 7200rpm drive is new, I will take it. If it's used, please send me a PM and we can discuss the details. I'm in need of a new drive (one of my current 1TB drives is in the process of kicking the bucket, and I'd like to save my data before then). Thanks in advance.

Would you use and Escrow service?

None of the drives are new, I should have put that in the original thread. The seagate ones are about a year old (bought them for my media server from Microcenter, have since upgraded to larger drives). It was used in a large flexraid array, so it didn't get spun up much (I'd say it likely averaged out to two or three hours a week of use, excluding the day I loaded it up!). I am open to escrow but have never used it before through this site so you'll have to bear with me as I figure it out.

Sending you a PM.

Here is a list of the well known escrow users on the site. I've actually not used escrow before even though I've made a few transactions on the forum. Responding to your pm.

OK, I'll have the card. Can you throw in the breakout cables?

Please send me the total including shipping to the UK and the payment address.

By the way, do you have any experience with the card in Linux? I want to use it as plain controller for md RAID.

I sure can, don't need them anymore. I'll need an address in the UK to get the correct shipping. I'll drop you a PM.

I only ran it using WHS 2011, and for that (I used it with Flexraid and all these HDDs I'm unloading) it worked perfectly. I don't have any experience using it with Linux.

Received my drive in great working condition today. Shipping was fast, the price was low, communication was prompt and easy to understand. But most importantly, the product (1.5TB Samsung drive) was packaged superbly. You guys have no idea how many times I have either seen or received expensive computer hardware without anti-static bags, or bouncing around inside the box. This drive was in an anti-static and VERY well padded. I asked for escrow, and I know now that if I ever need to work with him again, that won't be necessary. Great seller here, folks.

Thanks Chance, I appreciate it! Chance was a great buyer who was super easy to work with and was very fair with his pricing USD / BTC, and this was my first escrow experience which seems to have gone very smoothly so far.

Still looking to unload some more stuff so I can build up my savings :) All this volatility in price has caused people to really hold on to their BTC. Here's to hoping it gets stable again soon..

Any warranty left ?

I bought them at the end of April of last year (all at the same time) from a local Microcenter.

From what I recall they came with 3 year warranties, so yes they should still be covered. I do not know if these warranties transfer to a new buyer though unless you know more about the subject?

Got the drives in the mail today... unfortunately didn't have as good luck as the other customer.
1) UPS charged me an extra $45 for brokerage fees at the border (should have mentioned to never ship to Canada with UPS, was partly my fault.  For future reference only use USPS to Canada).
2) Drives were in really bad shape, anti-static bags are nearly torn and heavily perforated from being banged around so much.  One of the PCBs on one of the WD drives is actually scratched deeply.  It looks like they were shipped with air-filled plastic baggies, but these all popped from rough handling by UPS which let the drives bounce around like crazy in the foam peanuts that filled the remaining half of the box.

I will test them out next week sometime, hopefully they're okay.

I apologize, it was never mentioned to me by UPS that they would charge a 'fee' for getting it across the border when shipping the package, all that was told to me was the rate to ship the box. This is my first time shipping to Canada, now I know too I guess.

As for the condition of the box, this is the second time (just this week) that UPS has destroyed a box with electronics in it on me. Let me know how things go with the drives and if it doesn't work out well I'll make it right the best I can. Thanks.

Yeah, it's a big problem here.  My roommate bought some motorcycle parts online from the US for $70 and UPS charged him $120 in non-specific "customs brokerage fees".  FedEx charges these fees here, there's basically a shipping cartel up here as far as getting stuff across the border is concerned.  The only company without charges is USPS/Canada Post.
