Yeah I was thinking of investing in this ICO lucky my payment in my sig campaign is temporarily disabled so i was unable to withdraw my BTC.  To OCMiner, thank you for spotting this scam devs.  I think they are also the people behind those many scams in the past.

Was chatting right yesterday, cause i've invested in CORALPAY ico and they rasied "only" 7 btc till now, then i look at ebitz with thread like "90000 btc raised in 3 hours".
Taht's why i don't invest in ico where dev sponsored huge amount on first hours. better small ico and legit.

7. Aggressively Deleting any post that flags the above concerns- Yes

8. Promising Dark Market and saying deal is already in place but need money first- Yes

9. Saying it will be traded on the biggest exchanges at launch- Yes

10- Similarities with the Zcrypt Scam- Yes

11. ICO- Yes

12. Placebo the Scammer actively shilling for this ICO- Yes


These are just a few of the WARNING SIGNS that were there.

Now if you consciously chose to IGNORE ALL THESE, then quite frankly, you are either filthy rich and don't give a fuck about losing your BTC or you're just a gambler and you should go to the casino instead.

At least in case of Declouds, a big portion of the BTC turned out to be invested by the scammer to bait others. Maybe this is true for opair and ebitz as well.

I think it's not easy to find this out, since the amount of people willing to admit that they got scammed is probably very small. Still, it would be interesting to have this information

Yup, I absolutely agree, well I have placebo on ignore for quite some time, as he's the major king of shilling for "his" ICO's and he's also a master chief in badmouthing all POW coins, he does that badmouthing on a regular basis before he starts an ICO. I saw some posts from placebo the last days in a lot of threads but due to the fact I'm ignoring him, I didn't actually see/read what he wrote, usually he's calling me Mr. POW Scammer - ZEC, ZCL, ZDASH etc. are all invented by me and I made tons of money with it would be his opinion or at at least the story he'd be trying to sell :)

He has a looooong history in this forum, just type "placebo bitcointalk" on google and you'll also find his real name, his address and also a picture from him. He could be very well at least connected to those ICO's somehow, but from what I know he's only a poor sucker, hey but that shouldn't allow him to do anything of this of course.

Yeah bitcointalk is like wild west - moderation is very low, trojans/viruses aren't removed as so aren't obvious scams.. It's up to the community to get those scams revealed but unfortunately most of the users happily trust the scammers but not the legendary's :-(

Well... After a few days these threads will be somewhere at page 10-15 and those scammers will just start a new ICO. Rinse and Repeat, thats how it is for the last 3-4 years.

That is always the problem with coins without escrow, in fact it doesn't really matter if there was a escrow or not. Look at TEAM and FOREX on Yobit. Yobit even had a rule that 30% of ICO funds will be locked for one month, but still devs disappear...

this problem can easily be solved. People should not buy any ico coins at all, or they should know that there are risks and when they lose money they don't have to complain.... In fact scams has been changing, the so-called premine coins of only 1% but in reality they are 100% premine.... BEEP, ASAFE, JOBS, JW, IFLT,.... all hit Yobit and dev all dumped his coins on investors.... that are all smaller scams, but check the list of new coins added on Yobit lately and check how many of those coins are 100% premine. They hire Indian people and start spamming the trollbox. People are just buying without checking the coin configuration and then they are surprised that it hit 1 sat and they hold all bag of shitcoins.

ZEC is in fact also 20% premine... and what is dev doing with the coin.... nothing
LISK dev had so much money... and what is he doing with that money... visiting places and fuck some hookers...

I know the risks when investing in cryptocoins, I made some good crazy money on POT pumps etc, and I lost crazy money on ZEC (for example). Every coin is for me useless as you cannot use it in real life, only Bitcoin is a coin with value, and if people don't want to take any risks of being scammed then they need to trade Bitcoin...

Escrow doesn't fix the problem... OPair had a escrow... SebastianJU one of the most dedicated escrows of BCT...the issue is easy fixed by stopping investing in new coins. As mining coins are also scam in certain why... those so-called no premine coins all have hidden blocks or were instamine so that it was in fact not no premine...

The biggest problem is the huge profit that you can make in joining those coins... Lisk x7, even waves that really sucks in the beginning x2... then those topical Yobit ICO coins that are being pumped in the first hours and dumped in buy wall.

Yes, I am a victim of OPAIR. I think the best way to judge an ICO is to ask what is the purpose of the coin and how far are the developers ready to reveal their identity and come out for a google hangout section. Most scammers don't do this.

Best way is to stick with legit projects and stay invested in bitcoin largely. In fact don't invest in ICO at all. Wait for it to hit the market and see how things develop and the way the team handles it. Most coins correct after hitting the market. You get to buy them cheaper, even if it costly it still worth the time and cost.

NODIO crowdsale looks very professional and their graphics seem done by individuals who knew what they are doing. they were asked to show themselves on the youtube and they did show but no their faces. and so why?  While they wanna prove themselves to the public, they should by then try to show up while they are at it. if not then its going to be a sign.

We need to keep this thread alive,this is  a reminder to all investors to do a full research on the personalities involve,the group are now maybe thinking of their next scam coin so we to be very careful,the people that exposed are now trustworthy person capable of guiding us from would be scam coin.

Indeed, this was the prime reason I made a post in the thread attempting to advise caution...without wading in like a bull in a china shop and looking unprofessional.

Quite frankly, any project where the developer suggests, or infers that these kind of debit cards are possible on a block chain should be avoided.  It's not possible to do, if it was we would have them already, and any developer worth any kind of salt would know why we don't!  Using the Zcash protocol brings even more difficulties to pulling it off successfully.

The ONLY way to do it is with a complete and total redesign of the underlying ledger architecture itself with support for them designed into it from the beginning.

I feel sad because LEGIT projects like JANUS TOKEN barely got a look in and scams manage to collect huge amounts of BTC..So I think we really need to be more mindful in future where we invest both our time and money.

Fortunately we had our campaign funds escrowed by Lutpin this time and it wasn't long before that the scam was discovered. Otherwise the ICO investors as well as the sig campaign participants would have to suffer way more than we did.

A simple solution to help against these bought legendary accounts promoting scams would be to have a warning on the mini profile

that the email address changed recently.

Leave that warning there for like 3 months for all to see instead of it being buried in the Trust section of that account where no one ever looks.

That's a good idea I have added it to my list of scam coin guide,if any coin that will post an announcement coming from an account whose email has recently change could be a candidate for red flag ,there are a lot of things to be consider but this scam coin always prefer legendary or hero account.

Also be cautious of senior member, wasserman and kooke were also bought senior accounts. Don't invest a project without escrow, or with easy escrow terms-escrow releases fund only requiring blockchain and wallet.

I feel bad for those who lost out. Next time only invest in reputable ico's with reputable devs or solid escrow agreements.
