Title: Bitcoins price bump
Post by: NyeFe on December 02, 2016, 07:56:08 AM
I've been looking and tracking bitcoins price movement for weeks now. There's not doubt that its been bumped. The question is, at what point will they dump? - Are you still willing to invest your money?

what makes you think that there is no doubt that an artificial pump happened?

I personally can't see this as clearly as you

You're right, there's no evidence that it was an artificial pump. In my opinion, the market had been waiting to get out of the berish market sentiment for quite some time so just a few buy orders could have shifted the general mood.

pump or not, i have been hearing the same argument for over 2 years now. and i have also been investing money in bitcoin. and in the past year or so price has been going up from $200 and now it is $700+ and i have been making profit.

so yeah i am still willing to invest more and more of my money.

I have paused investing for a bit maybe for a month or so and about the maximum dump I think it should be 700 even though it is a little bit high but we want to see it lower than that.

It all depends on how long rookies and other noobs are willing to buy up expensive coins. As long as that is the case, we might see the price go up further. If large players notice that things are calming down, then that will most likely be the time a correction will happen. And no, beside buying and selling for trading purposes, I am not investing any of my money into Bitcoin for long term holding purposes. I have bought my long term holding coins significantly below the $300 level last year. I am good now.

But there is no evidence that this is an organic growth too, I would love to see organic growth of bitcoin but we all know that bitcoin had been manipulated ever since.  We should capitalize in this move instead rather than discussing whether it is a pump or a dump because either way, bitcoin price will be corrected at the end.  Is there a major event happening at this point to move the price of bitcoin higher?

They might not dump at all. Who knows mate. It's like people saying when BTC got above $100 this thing is going down real soon, but it actually never came down and stayed above $100 this entire time. Maybe $770 is the new floor.

Price just reached $777 on coinmarketcap. This superstitious number must bring good things to bitcoin :)

Till new year you can make profit ny bitcoins I think because if you notice every year's price chart from November to January value use to get increase only. If dump comes also it would be for very few amount only. Already this year halving done its part and pushed the value up and still raising. No doubts you could invest on it. Check before investing, there are many ponzi schemes are there.

OP zoom out your chart a bit and you'll see bitcoin has been making higher highs and higher lows for a year now

Wouldn't have noticed that if you did not mention it.
It is a good sign if you believe in that sort of stuff.
I think the chinese view that number as something more different than luck. Such as they see the number 13 as lucky or prosperous. But I do know they are heavy into thinking numbers in situations like this mean something more than they are just that... numbers. ::)

Exactly. I wouldnt be too excited if there is a $20-30 rise or drop in btc price, its been a common thing for some while now BTC will rise then drop or get stable for some time and then again after some weeks same thing will happen. But if the same $20-30 hike came 1 year ago I would be panic selling or buying lol  :D

there may be some small dumps as we near new year and Christmas because of the amount of liquidity people usually need these days. but OP really needs to start looking at the charts for longer periods than what he was seeing at the time of writing his comment.

Absolutely right. We are in a bull market since september 2015!
And so far it has been a healthy ride.We went up, corrected and continued moving up.
This is how sustainable growth should look like. I don't care what some guys here may see in some shorter timeframes.
I'm in for long. And that picture looks really promising to.

This is a great day that we are seen that the price are touch in $770 value. bitcoin is unpredictable we do not know if the price will continues to increase or not. but it is still good to always buy bitcoins since the price is gradually increase but there is different from price fluctuate last year and the price right now the movement is not the same but they are same increasing..

No one knows at what point there will be dump but after huge price pump for several days like this, there will be small price correction but not dump.

Few weeks ago any price under $700 was considered good price to buy and now <$800 price are being considered best price to buy. So it will never be late to buy more bitcoin, yes i am willing to invest more money when there will be small price correction.  :D

Do you believe there will be a correction of the price soon?
If so I will just wait this one out until that happens to start to buy again.
I am a little low right now. :-\

i agree and i don't think it's artifical, the increase is very slow and it happen each time after a small correction, also all the increases were very small small $40-$50 boost, nothing to do with the first rally to $1200

The market cap of bitcoins is now at $12bn, it's too much for bitcoin whales to manipulate - unless maybe they form a group, which is highly unlikely.

Seems bitcoin prices have broken its strong resistance levels around $760 price levels so this rally may continue till $820 to $850 price levels of next resistances. I predict by January 2nd week, we may see again four digit prices for bitcoins. Hope those four digit levels will hold up at least this time.

I believe its not a typical pump as bitcoin prices are slowly up surging, maybe heading toward $800 or even $850 price levels, hopefully. I am just getting ready for bitcoin's ATH prices by 2017 or well before also.

This does seem to look promising that the price will stabilize and stay this way and possibly get to that point again as it did several years before.
I thought I saw on another thread that the ATH was $953 or around there. Maybe in the past 1 year it reached that but I do remember 1 btc being worth $1200 at one point.

I think that since this is the first year since bitcoin as become an etf we will see an usual high surge in december, obviously done for tax reasons 8) but then once the new year hits there will be a mass sell off. I am more interested in the volume of the etf than of the price of coins on coinbase

It's not done yet  ;) we can see more bumps since the price keeps rising at this time and maybe the 1000$ long time speculated will be achieved on january or on the year 2017 d
Since the surge is continously occuring, and hope there will be no human intervention and bad events wi be happen so the price well unstoppable and keeps rising, and if the 1000$ will occur surely we are the luckiest person on planet since we know bitcoin and we earn good profits by it.

It has been ranging most of the time. It takes from few days to one week to rise dramatically when its ready to bump. Often the progress it does during a week accounts for a few months delay. Remember bitcoin had been trading at 400 USD by the end of 2015, so doubling withing a year isnt really a huge progress.

When will it officially be an etf? By who? The Winklevoss with Genesis will release it as such?
