Title: Ubuntu mining rig.
Post by: pvx on April 09, 2013, 12:19:50 PM
Hey guys.

Glad to have finally joined the digital revolution that is bit coin.

Been reading up on the different threads trying to blunder my way through the ocean of different instructions on setting up a mining rig.

So I have set up cg-miner on a windows OS no problem. But I'm having trouble installing cg-miner on Ubuntu. I know there are several step by step instructions out there but I'm hoping someone here would show me an updated one. I was looking for a simple step by step command line tutorial. Showing exactly how to install the catalyst drivers, open-cl drivers, prerequisites, dependencies, etc.

Also at this time which version of Ubuntu is more stable for bit coin mining?

If someone can point me in the right direction, It would be much appreciated.

Looking forward to interacting with you all.

Hi,
I would like to point you to BAMT a specialized distro optimized for mining. It includes everything you need in terms of drivers and mining software to get started.

Good Luck
