Title: Ebay butterfly rig scams?
Post by: greyhaze on April 09, 2013, 06:36:01 PM
Hi guys,

ive noticed a lot of people advertising there pre order butterfly ASICs  on ebay ,
now ive heard the storys so far on butterfly not sending out there rigs yet,
But what was really bothering was that people were asking for only BTC payments.
im very new to the whole bitcoin community and was wanting to buy a rig ,but how am i covered if i pay to someones
Bit wallet?
Like when you pay with paypal through ebay, they cover you if the guys a scammer or something,
but if i payed 50 coins into someones wallet and they chose to not send the device, is there any way of proving I sent the coins to him? Well proving to ebay so they would open up a fraud case?

i would really appreciate any feedback .   :)

Think about it: they want you to pay in bitcoins so they can scam you easier!

I've been seeing a ton of these lately, I'd definitely stay away, as there's no telling when it might actually ship, and by then you cannot get your money abck.

Smells like a scam.

Things like this always pop up more when the price is rising as people tend to have a fear of missing out.

Bitcoin mining is a poor investment. Look into forex trading(scalping), its actually got something called a stop loss that follows your price so you are covered, and can't loose money a few minutes after starting a running trade.
