Title: New member question
Post by: krs2 on December 16, 2016, 01:17:35 AM
Some of the people on here are really great. Others not so much here is my problem. I purchased an item from a member and received nothing. can not leave a reply or anything for that member. His thread is locked. He continues to have his thread up and selling. How is it that nobody takes it down to stop others from getting ripped off. once he received money no more communication. Contacted him through another way and answered right away but when he realized it was me asking for what I paid for no more communications. How do you continue to allow him to sell.

He is:

Acerka

Open a scam accusation against that user in this section (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0) using this format (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0).

Unfortunately scams are not moderated so no one will get banned for scamming. We do have some users that tries to stop others from getting ripped off but there's only so much that normal users' warning can do. Some would even ignore the warnings.

You should always practice caution in transactions like that.. Next time ask an escrow to act as a middle man for the two of you to make sure
that you don't lose your money once it's handed over :)

I Suggest you don't trade with anyone unknown in this forum because if you do this then you will got scammed by them or if you want to trade with them then always hire an escrow for the deal to prevent scams and you can trade with confidence and having safety when you use an escrow to do trades in forum.

You can leave him a red trust on his profile and open a thread on scam accusation on the issue as how did the deal go through and how did you get scam by him.

You need to be very careful while doing any transaction with the person you don't know because you will loose your money. Every time when you are doing any transaction with bitcointalk forum user we have best option here is escrow. You can also post a relevant discussion so your question will be answered many people here. Don't do it hurry before doing any transaction be careful.

You can complain at the scam accussations section and create a thread there. Before doing that. Make sure you are doing the right format. Together with some evidence, they will review your complain. And if they find it guilty. They will put a negative trust to that accused user. About your loss. Only the accused user is the person that can help you because we cant do anything about that. Next time you should hire an escrow to trade your goods safely. Theres are many escrow here. They are free of charge.

I think what you said is the only option left for him because now nothing can get reversed and your loss wont be returned but next time be carefull when you deal with anyone.

Scams aren't moderated by staff, but I left him negative feedback days ago so not sure why you sent him your money.

This guy has at least 3 accounts here and they are all red marked, even account "acerka" has more than 25 negative feedbacks. Locked threads, no escrow, red trust  - is it really that hard to read? Did you read his other posts, because he is selling 72000 emails for 60$ which is more than enough to tell you he is just another scammer.

The problem is unregistered user cannot see the trust level of the user on the forum..
Most probably he scammed many unregistered user with his method of locking the thread so scammed user can't leave negative post there and unregistered user forced to add the skype to ask for details..

So yeah, he cannot scammed bitcoin forum member but he got load of profit scamming the non-user (which most traffic on the forum are)

Mod should ban this kind of locking thread behaviour

Yeah you most certainly have to check a person's trust page.  I think a lot of people don't do that.  Perhaps newbies don't know about the system or to what extent it's useful.  It seems like it's always them that get scammed, or at least what I've seen thus far.
