the goal here is:

A. discovery of simple but functional POS projects
(preferably all run on the same standard CORE code)
for POS miners, devs, and related support networks

B. definitive mission statement for investors ...  finding the smaller cap POS coins that are still moving and offer higher return/risk potential than more the established/marketed projects.

if you would like any POS coin considered for review please just post.
NO COIN with less than 1 year of age is eligible

I/O
Cap = $5.93 M
Will pass on I/O  https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ioc
You've raised $6M in cap, and this project is looking for under $1M, yet decent POS networks.
Good luck with remaining on Polo.

key points in discussion

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=864994.msg17533557#msg17533557
Butters makes some KEY points on why POS systems are fundamentally superior for the investor (HODLrs).
It will take time, POW matrix still has captured the general attention.  Yet POS offers something completely different.

Great list of PoS coins you got there BitcoinNational! It helps me keep track of the most popular coins to stake, especially the ones with high stake rates which are my favorite.

Speaking of PoS coins, I have found out a very interesting coin called XDE II. It has a 20% stake rate and it is only being traded at Yobit exchange. Also, you can upgrade your stake rates up to 120% annually by paying a fee in BTC.

More info can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1310435.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1310435.0)

It has been since 2015 and it has been doing really good. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward for more interesting PoS coins to stake. If you or anybody else know of any good and new PoS coin on the market, please let me know. :)

because market cap +1 M

but mostly because NXT is a different kind of project (asset platform)
the goal here is discovery of simple but functional POS projects (preferably all run on the same standard CORE code)

Nice thread.
if you would like any POS coin considered for review please just post below.

NO COIN with less than 1 year of age is eligible
Nice thread.Should staking period be 1 year or coin should be 1 year old to get listed here?

the project needs to be at least 1 year old.
No N00bs.

LEO this is why you are being told to take all your sock puppets and GET THE FUCK out of 'decentralized' crypto:

LEO is a SCAM ... a scheme to cheat people out of their money.

50 out of 85 coins are premined ... and collect special x2 POS rate ... again the scammers started out with all 50M ... pow/pos have only created 35M new coins ... and you are safe to assume that these LEO cons hold at least 3 0f every 4 coins.

PAYCOIN has a better chance in HELL of recovering and becoming a legit and reputable project.

[i will only be polite here once ... All LEO puppets please leave this vicinity ... immediately]

You have been given the only polite warning you will get no more.

----
I don't know if this is solely posted to advertise for leocoin or what? you can visit poswallet.com to check their staking and even try to stake the best coins in terms of having the best volumes.
One thing I know there is no profit in staking coins really because their price needs 10% drop to make half a year of staking completely wasted :D and we all know how altcoins price are changing (pumped and dumped) all the time.

i buy LEOcoin in feb and march 2016 at price 0.067$ and 0.10$...now coin is approx 0.50$ and stable..i sale my stake..i got 200k so i am great..already sold all and my 200k are free and get me approx 110 LEOcoin a day free so its 50$...;) not bad at all... 1500$ month for nothing..just buy coin on time ;)

please,
help me understand.

you are spamming leocock in every possible thread but you admit you already sold your stake and did 200k

you get 110 leococks even if you already sold your stake? how does this works? do you stake even after sale?

do you realize POS with 20% will bring price to 1 satoshi on the long run? oh right, you already sold your stash, who cares?

and according to this page: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/leocoin/#markets
you notice leocoin has very low volumes. low volume + high POS + large premine + not transparent system = 100% money loss, do not invest!

write it of as dead. Ardor is coming up and I feel that by the end of 2017, we can see some progress made.

;P Blackcoin reward isn't 1% per year

it's more!

Blackcoin has removed coinage and has constant reward of 1.5 BLK + fees.

Block reward of 1.5 BLK results in an inflation rate of about 0.95% which is distributed
only to the fraction of the shareholders.

This means up to nearly 5% expected reward/interest rate for continuous staking!

Hi TALK community! Thank you so much for the nomination!

For those of you not familiar with BERN, please have a look at our thread. For those here that may have some doubts already because of the politics involved or that may be in disagreement with Bernie Sanders for whatever reason, I ask you to please look past that and not let that cloud your judgment of the project. I think you will find it is an honest grass-roots crypto project, paying 10% PoS annual, that will not be quitting... even if Bernie... did.  ???

It would be an honour for BERN to be included in your list of POS coins and, of course, FEEL THE BERN!!!  :D

Thanks for adding Magi to the list, its a great coin with an awesome community - I'm sure one of the dev team will help wth the PoS amount - its running off its own algorithm and it a bit more complex than most other coins.

You might also want to consider EGC on your list, its a PoS with a nice 7% pa reward, the community is very active there (albeit mostly on slack)

came across this problem with Stronghands,
100 % POS
current coinsupply around 70,016,993,565

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1195510.msg17710015#msg17710015

basic issue is that Stronghands has a transaction limit of 2,000,000,000 coins, and at least one user has over that amount.
when they attempted to send 2.4 billion in one go, their client shat itself, and will not start up anymore.

yet to see if they manage to reclaim their coins :)

i have no idea if fixing that requires a fork or if it's purely wallet specific.
It will require fork.

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/c0ddd32bf629bb48426b0651def497ca1a78e6b1/src/amount.h#L22
Code:
/** No amount larger than this (in satoshi) is valid.
 *
 * Note that this constant is *not* the total money supply, which in Bitcoin
 * currently happens to be less than 21,000,000 BTC for various reasons, but
 * rather a sanity check. As this sanity check is used by consensus-critical
 * validation code, the exact value of the MAX_MONEY constant is consensus
 * critical; in unusual circumstances like a(nother) overflow bug that allowed
 * for the creation of coins out of thin air modification could lead to a fork.
 * */
static const CAmount MAX_MONEY = 21000000 * COIN;
inline bool MoneyRange(const CAmount& nValue) { return (nValue >= 0 && nValue <= MAX_MONEY); }

i also tried changing max_money in stronghands just to see.

i'm helping with Stronghands, just wondering if anyone has seen anything similar ??
transactions over 2billion corrupt wallet.

see two posts above, by Pineapples.

another coin which might suffer from the same is PAC.
ppc code base, mega coinsupply, 2billion MAX_MONEY which is easily acheivable balance for an individual..

EDIT
have replicated the same problem in PPC,
so likely to exist in other PPC clones.
obviously only a problem where it is possible for a user to hold MAX_MONEY

PAC ... nice trading trend, and I see the network #s are up!

i see PAC also has MAX_MONEY of 1 trillion,
and i will have to see how PAC handles limited tx to that value ...

further checking the code base makes it look like the issue breaking wallets is when combined outputs exceed MAX_MONEY,
so you could possibly still break the wallet by setting a high enough TX fee :)

seems that atomcoin, is a strong good poscoin, i bought something and i'm trying to stake, it work good, the interest is 100% annual, which is not low at all if you buy 1 btc now you get 1 btc more in one years, plus the staking of the minted coins, but i would prefer if it has also a pow phase so i can generate with my mining mahcine too

Hey guys!

Been watching NAV for a few months now and I must say I'm impressed about how things are going. I heard somewhere that the team is going to implement a masternode system. Is that true? Thanks!

If it's true this coin will go to the moon

We are planning to implement something similar to, but better than masternodes. It's still in the planning phases right now, but we are looking to combine the NAV & SUB chains into 1 wallet, bring the NAVTech scripts into the wallet core itself and offer an all in one solution for anyone who wants to participate in processing NAVTech transactions.

Keep your eyes peeled for more about this as we release whitepapers / information.

I would say RDD, I like their development team and whoever is in charge of PR, they have been really active again lately after a long time of pause, considering their prices are low because of the dead period if the team could improve it again and make it known around the cryptocurrency exchanges than anyone who gets in now would be fairly compensated in the return.

Overview Of BitBean Services & Applications -- Current & Planned Over The Next Few Months

A Web-site (www.bitbean.org (http://www.bitbean.org)) update & overhaul is in the works. As part of this, we'll be updating the Menu and associated links.

The following is a sketch of a mock up for the proposed menu & links:

Some of these services are already existing, with some currently being developed. This mock-up also represents additional services and developments that we expect to see implemented in the next few days, weeks and months, as more pieces are developed and deployed. If you have a BitBean Service or Application you would like us to link to, let us know by dropping by our Live Community Hangout (http://teamchat.bitbean.org) (Firefox is recommended until we get a new CA) and letting us know.

You can view the latest updates to this Mock-up by typing the command "/sketch WebSite Menu" (without quotes) when you are in the Live Chat Hangout (http://teamchat.bitbean.org).

If you have recommendations or improvements to the Web-site, or that you think would benefit BitBean and the Community, let us know.

TOR is back  :D

not exactly

What Happened to the Original TORCOIN?
>>> Your guess is as good as ours. There was a TORCOIN developed in 2013 by some graduate students; the project was soon abandoned. The original TORCOIN contained vulnerabilities and poor coding. The new TorCoin bears no resemblance to its predecessor, nor did we use any of the code from the original TorCoin. The 2013 TorCoin is still listed on CoinMarketcap, but it has zero trade volume, a market cap of 9 BTC, and completely outdated code; the project was entirely abandoned. We intend to get our new TorCoin listed and the old TorCoin fully de-listed.

WHAT IS TORCOIN?
>>> Torcoin is a cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin featuring numerous improvements and innovations, such as full integration with the TOR network, stealth sending technology, and complete anonymity.

WHY USE TORCOIN?
>>> TorCoin offers several important features that Bitcoin does not. First, TorCoin rewards people for running a TOR node. Whereas Bitcoin transactions are completely traceable, TorCoin enables you to send coins anonymously. There is never any need to 'mix' or 'anonymize' your TorCoins - they are anonymous by default. TOR is fully integrated with TorCoin, which means that a snoop or attacker watching your internet connection will not know if you are using TorCoin - and other TorCoin users cannot determine the physical location of your Torcoin node. TorCoin also offers encrypted end-to-end messaging between TorCoin users.

HOW ANONYMOUS IS TORCOIN?
>>> It is the most anonymous cryptocurrency yet developed. Because TOR is integrated with TorCoin, all TorCoin nodes are completely anonymous; no one will ever know that you are running a TorCoin node, or trace your location. TorCoin protects you by re-routing your connection to other TorCoin nodes running TOR.

WHAT CONSENSUS ALGORITHM DOES TORCOIN USE?
>>> Like Bitcoin, TorCoin uses Proof-of-Work, but unlike Bitcoin it is configured to transition to Proof-of-Stake after two years, when small numbers of coins will be issued yearly for staking. Staking will be 5% per year. The advantage of transitioning to Proof-of-Stake is to avoid the centralized mining pools that may eventually threaten Bitcoin with a 51% attack. Most Bitcoin mining has been centralized in China, which is not necessarily a good thing for the currency. Proof-of-Stake is known to discourage centralized mining pools.

HOW MANY COINS WILL BE CREATED?

>>> Twelve million coins will be created during the two-year Proof-of-Work phase, with small emissions of coins issued thereafter for staking purposes. The total number of coins will be less than Bitcoin and significantly less than Ethereum.

IS TORCOIN A PREMINE OR INSTAMINE?
>>> We created the genesis block with approximately 10% of all coins to be issued - around 1.2 million. Whether this qualifies as a 'pre-mine' is up to interpretation. Bitcoin was 'instamined' to the tune of 1 million Bitcoins, while Ethereum was 'pre-sold' in a huge crowdfunding effort at almost 20% of its total issuance. Dash was instamined for 1.9 million coins (27% of the current supply!), although its creator calls it an 'accident' rather than an 'instamine.' Call it whatever you want, but we think allocating 10% of the coins to the creator will be good for the coin for the following reasons: A. The creator has an incentive to push for the coin's success. If the creator had no coins, he may abandon the project entirely. B. The creator has an incentive and financial ability to pay a development team to continue working on the software. C. The creator has the option of 'staking' exchanges to list the coin; essentially offering them a fair amount of TorCoin to list coin on their exchange. Getting a coin listed on multiple exchanges is the key to success of the coin. D. As the coin rises in value, the creator has the financial ability to fund projects related to the expansion of the market for the coin, such as creating exchanges or funding startups.

IS TORCOIN A SCAMCOIN OR PUMP AND DUMP?
>>> No. We believe strongly in anonymity and have developed this coin to help bolster the TOR network by creating more nodes and to increase anonymity in the cryptocurrency space by enabling people to send coins anonymously. While we hope TorCoin rises in value, we are in it for the long haul with TorCoin and have no desire to dump large amounts of the coin on the market.

WHO CREATED TORCOIN?
>>> God. Aliens. Elvis Presley. Who cares? TorCoin is open-sourced and de-centralized; the creator is already irrelevant.

TECHNICAL INFO
>>> Torcoin is a hybrid cryptocurrency utilizing the X11 hashing algorithm (11 rounds of different hashing functions) with the Proof-Of-Work consensus, transitioning to Proof-Of-Stake after 2 years. Torcoin provides full Tor integration with the Tor Onion network. Stealth addresses are available for the anonymous sending of currency through the network. Encrypted messsaging is also available in Torcoin, enabling users to send encrypted messages to other Torcoin users. A total of 12 million TOR will be created before the Proof-Of-Work phase ends and Proof-Of-Stake begins. During the Proof-of-Stake phase, small emissions of coins will be issued each year for the purposes of staking. Staking will be 5% per year. Block Times in the Torcoin network occur at 60 second intervals. The Block Reward schedule is set to halve every 6 months from the start with a reward of 1 TOR per block.

WHY USE TORCOIN?

*** Completely Untraceable
No one will ever know you are running a TorCoin node - your real IP is never broadcast to the network because TorCoin runs over Tor.

*** Anonymous Payments
Using stealth addresses, TorCoin payments are completely anonymous and untraceable by attackers, government agencies or anyone else.

*** Fast Confirmation Times
TorCoin provides extremely rapid confirmation times, meaning you can send and receive funds almost instantly, without the slow confirmation times of Bitcoin.

*** Encrypted End-to-end Messaging
You can send encrypted end-to-end messages to other TorCoin users.

*** Helping the TOR Network
By running TorCoin, you are increasing the number of nodes on the TOR network, and thereby helping people across the world remain anonymous.

Are You Affiliated With the TOR Project?

>>> Not officially, though we are huge supporters of the Tor Project (http://torproject.org).

DOES TORCOIN OFFER END-TO-END ENCRYPTED MESSAGING?
>>> Yes! With TorCoin, users can send encrypted end-to-end messages to other TorCoin users.

WILL TORCOIN COMPETE WITH BITCOIN?
>>> We believe Bitcoin to be the GOLD STANDARD of cryptocurrency, much like gold is - literally - the gold standard of metals. Silver, Palladium and Platinum all have value - they just don't have as much value as gold. Bitcoin is the crypto against which all other cryptos should be - and will always be - measured. TorCoin is not intended to 'compete' with Bitcoin, but TorCoin offers certain features that Bitcoin notably lacks, such as integration with TOR, encrypted end-to-end messaging between TorCoin users, untraceable payments and fast confirmation times. We hope TorCoin becomes a useful cryptocurrency for those concerned about personal privacy online. Because of its native anonymity, TorCoin offers a much better alternative than Bitcoin for many activities.

WILL TORCOIN PROVE VULNERABLE TO 51% ATTACKS OR CENTRALIZED MINING POOLS?

>>> We hope not. Because TorCoin will transition to a Proof-of-Stake consensus after two years, centralization of mining will be less appealing, and 51% attacks will therefore prove more challenging. Mining centralization and the potential for 51% attacks are a major weakness of Bitcoin's Proof-of-Work consensus model, which has led to centralization of mining in China (due to bottoming electricity costs) and even the mining company Ghash.io controlling more than 51% of mining for a brief moment, sparking fears of an attack.

WHAT SETS TORCOIN APART FROM OTHER CRYPTOS?
>>> Unlike most other cryptos (excluding Monero and a few others), TorCoin offers completely anonymous sending. Apart from all other cryptos, TorCoin is fully integrated with TOR and therefore 100% anonymous; an attacker or government snoop can never see if you are running a TorCoin node or not. Your IP address is therefore never broadcast on TorCoin. Unlike Bitcoin and some of the older currencies, TorCoin offers much faster confirmation times, meaning you can send and receive funds almost instantly. TorCoin is also designed to transition to Proof-of-Stake consensus, meaning it will discourage centralized mining pools from cropping up, which is a major problem for Bitcoin and other exclusively proof-of-work currencies. TorCoin also offers encrypted end-to-end messaging between TorCoin users. And finally .. we think the name is just really cool :-)

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
>>> The major focus on future development will be improvement of end-usability of the coin (making it easier for average people to use), smoothly transitioning to Proof of Stake (possibly incorporating Serenity/Casper), development of an Android wallet, and improving efficiency of the network online.

IS TORCOIN OPEN SOURCE?
>>> Of course. https://github.com/carsenk/torcoin

Linux Compile guide to compile torcoin-qt on Ubuntu 14.04/16.04

Run these commands to install the required dependencies in general for compiling torcoind/torcoin-qt:

Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool git autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev libzmq3-dev

Then do this command:

Code:
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev

Then install QT 4 so you can use the command qmake in the next steps:
Code:
sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler libqrencode-dev

Then clone the github directory of torcoin onto your machine, cd into the folder and use the following commands to build the QT for Linux:

Code:
sudo qmake "USE_QRCODE=1" "USE_UPNP=-" torcoin-qt.pro

Then:

Code:
sudo make -f Makefile.Release

You may need to remove lines 19 through 34 from the torcoin-qt.pro file since you are building on linux, since currently the windows compiling deps are hardcoded in.

CoExistCoin is a decentralized digital currency that is run on blockchain technology. CoExistCoin's goal is to be synonymous with charity and donations. We are THE digital charity currency.

Using CoExistCoin, all transactions are recorded on the blockchain and cannot be altered or tampered with. Anyone and everyone have access to see all transactions on the blockchain by using the block explorer.  You can trace and follow exactly where your donated money is going. This is great!! It gives charity checks and balances for the first time. Foundations and organizations can no longer hide where the funds are going. No more abuse like only 10% of each dollar being used toward the cause. Now the proof is out there for all to see at any time.

Our mission is to help the less fortunate. So many people in the world are in desperate and horrible circumstances. Simple things like clean water make a world of difference to those in need. If you’re reading this, YOU have clean water and most probably don’t think about clean water. We take things for granted in the developed world. We can help those people in desperate need!

To find more information and how you can help visit us at CoExistCoin.com (http://CoExistCoin.com)

A monthly fund that goes to http://www.water4.org/fightfortheforgotten . They work very hard to provide basic human needs to communities that have been decimated because of lack of access to clean potable water. 1 of 3 of their children were dying, all because of dirty or no water. Read Justin Wrens story at above link. It is a very inspirational tale.

FIRST DONATION  :)

http://www.water4.org/fightfortheforgotten   is run by a great organization water4.org  . A portion of our collected donations will be used to go toward the water4.org. They empower locals to build and maintain their own water well. Educate and supply all that’s needed to bring clean water to those communities that need it.

Coexist.org is a special organization. They are helping break the cycle of conflict by creating opportunities for people to work and learn together. Coexist.org is in more than 33 countries helping people come together.

http://www.preranaantitrafficking.org (http://www.preranaantitrafficking.org)/  -  Prerana works to end intergenerational prostitution and to protect women and children from the threats of human trafficking by defending their rights and dignity, providing a safe environment, supporting their education and health and leading major advocacy efforts. Prerana strives to ensure optimum protection of children. This is reflected in the broad spectrum of interventions that provide a continuum of care by addressing issues of child sexual abuse in parallel with anti-human trafficking. Since its establishment in 1986, Prerana’s pioneering efforts have been instrumental in supporting victims through the entire cycle from prevention to repatriation.Prerana is registered under the Societies Registration Act (Registration No: 372/1990) and the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (Registration No: 83780710).

https://theexodusroad.com/ (https://theexodusroad.com/)   - We find and free slaves through strategic action.  Our primary focus lies in ushering in strategic, holistic rescue for current victims of slavery. We vet, train, fund and equip operatives to collect evidence of trafficking and then work with police to bring freedom. We also support victim services throughout the rescue and transition process.

Coin Explorer

Coin explorer will be out very soon! There has been a slight delay.

Roadmap

Coming shortly! Stay tuned. All our work will be public and transparent.

Introducing ClubCoin
ClubCoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency that has a decentralized and consensus based system where all transactions are viewed in a public ledger. Which means nobody has control and everything is completely transparent to everyone on the network.

This type of distributed network allows the coin to function without having to rely on a central authority. The concept of all digital currency is taking the control out of a central authority and putting it where it belongs... In the hands of the people!

With ClubCoin you can transfer money between accounts with ease. You can send any amount to any other person and they will receive it quickly and be able to spend it once the transaction is confirmed by the network.

ClubCoin uses the Proof of Stake method to secure all transactions. This means whoever is holding ClubCoin can decide to use the coin to help verify the transactions in the ledger. This process is called staking and this is how newly issued coins are introduced to the network.

Anyone can stake coins and be rewarded with newly issued ClubCoin. All you have to do is download a wallet and keep the wallet online to process the transactions. This uses your computing power to distribute and verify the network and you get rewarded.

ClubCoin uses open source code, which means everything is public and can be checked, this is what makes digital currency so powerful. Everything is transparent and available for viewing and nobody has any more authority than anyone else. Your authority only comes based on how much ClubCoin you are holding and staking and anyone can be part of this network.

Large Distribution & Low Inflation
78.5 million ClubCoin was mined to start and these coins are being distributed to BitClub Network members. See disclaimer below. No new coins will be created using Proof-of-Work method, all new coins will be issued from the 20% yearly interest paid to holders of ClubCoin who are staking their coins. This drops in half every 2 years.

Built-in Users = Adoption
ClubCoin was first introduced to BitClub Network members as a strategic way to distribute the coins across a global network of users. This model gives ClubCoin a unique advantage over most coins in the market as it will continue to be issued and distributed worldwide to a fast growing user base.

Blockchain Security
ClubCoin has it's own Blockchain and distributed network of nodes that make it very secure against attacks and hard to get 51% consensus. Other digital currencies that are only Proof-of-work face issues due to their reliability on large-scale mining operations. ClubCoin also boasts a powerful Block Explorer.

Merchant Platform
A new Merchant Platform is being built that will allow online and brick & mortar businesses to accept ClubCoin risk free, within a secure and reliable environment. Since many members will be eager to use this platform we have created a very strategic way to sign up new merchants. We have big plans for ongoing development of the entire ClubCoin ecosystem.

If you would like to know more or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

*Disclaimer: Though initially distributed to Bitclub Network members, Bitclub Network does not influence ClubCoin nor do either ClubCoin or Bitclub Network work solely hand in hand. The choice was made to ensure that as many ClubCoins as possible are distributed across a large network. Not in any form is ClubCoin a tool of the Bitclub Network and should not be treated as such. Use the software at your own discretion. ClubCoin is specifically community ran from the ground up to serve the community and ClubCoin stakeholders.

FIRST CRYPTO-CURRENCY TRADING COLORED COINS

The BTG wallet allows you to create colored gems with various characteristics and qualities. These new gems can easily be created in the wallet and the new gems can be sent to other BTG users. There are four broad types of gems you can create, Diamonds, Rubies, Saphires and Emeralds.

BITGEM: TRADING COLORED GEMS

Launched new version 0.4.9_ALPHA1, providing gem trading features. This is still in ALPHA stage, please use it at your own risk and always backup your wallet.

UPDATED JUN 14 2014 Download NEW ALPHA Release v.0.4.9-ALPHA1: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9-QvC1XNoslUUpDZUk0U1EwM0E/edit?usp=sharing

BTG can be converted into Diamonds (DMD), Rubys (RBY), Sapphires (SPH) or Emeralds (EMD). There are two processes involved:

1) Create gems. Gem-creation is symbolized BTG -> {DMD, RBY, SPH, EMD}. It is the process of making  DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD with specific carat, color, clarity, cut and shape properties.

http://s3.postimg.org/4627hk0vn/coloredgems5.png (http://postimage.org/)

Modular Wallet

It is done extending bitcoin original wallet, by means of an extension of wallet source. So, extending original wallet (wallet.dat), it is possible to storing gem creation information into extended wallet (gemwallet.dat). The BTG wallet has been created by extending the functions of the bitcoin wallet. All of your gems are stored in your wallet.dat file, which is the wallet backup file.

WARNING:  If you delete or lose your gemwallet.dat file you will lose your gems. Always backup your wallets.

2) Sending gems. 2) Sending gems. Bitgeminization is symbolized {DMD, RBY, SPR, EMD} -> BTG. It is the opposite of gem creation, and it is carried out when an incoming BTG transaction is converted to existing gems.

http://s3.postimg.org/4k3jh5kz7/coloredgems4.png (http://postimage.org/)

The aim of current development is to provide a native method for sending colored gems, ie. DMD, RBY, SPH, EMD.

Gem creation and Bitgeminization (sending gems) processes are being developed and refined for a future wallet.

DISCUSSION: BITGEM NEW PATHS

BitGem https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=207008.msg2166865 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=207008.msg2166865) is a scarce crypto, just about 32,000 BTGs are out there. For future development and to provide added-value, I am planning 3 mainlines, not mutually exclusive, embodying gem properties into any transaction: granularity, tagging and color.

- transaction granularity: because gems are traded like raw gems, "sticky" transactions would allow trading whole gems, rather than fractional amounts of BitGems. This "packing" of gems could be rewarded with an additional stake reward, to encourage the staking of big gems.

- tagged coins: relates to granularity. It would allow you to tag the gem with all 4Cs properties and store the gem in the blockchain.

- colored coins: provide true colored coins (diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald), with an independent or modified exchange, so it could be automatically exchanged in a secondary market.

I am planning an update allowing sending of bitgems through the BitGem Wallet. => DONE !

You can take advantage of future development for making contributions supporting this project 1BTGghTiiqz2mQCYP2AiSv5ec5kcvkaJXu (https://blockchain.info/address/1BTGghTiiqz2mQCYP2AiSv5ec5kcvkaJXu)

SIMPE 4C's GEMSTONE MODEL

http://s10.postimg.org/aja3vdo2x/4cs.png

Lets you transform your BTGs into the different type of gemstones, diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald. 4Cs model take the 4 gemstone properties: Carat, Clarity, Color and Cut and modifies your gems using those parameters.

General information about 4Cs model is based on http://www.collectorfinejewelry.com/quality_4cs.htm.

CARAT

A carat is a weight unit and is equal to 0.2 grams. Usually, there is an exponential relation of value with carats.

COLOR

Is a graded scale, from 'D' to 'Z', with D being the best grade and Z the worst.

In diamonds, colorless is better and perfectly colorless would be D.

In rubies, sapphires and emeralds, more defined hue colors are more valued, and more intense colors (saturated) are more valued too. Well defined, intense, brilliant  colors are graded from D (best) to Z.

CLARITY

Clarity refers to the lack of inclusions or flaws in a gem. The Clarity Scale contains 11 grades,

FL: Flawless  - No inclusions or blemishes are visible to a skilled grader using 10× magnification
IF: Internally Flawless - No inclusions and only blemishes are visible to a skilled grader using 10× magnification
VVS1, VVS2: Very, Very Slightly Included - Inclusions are difficult for a skilled grader to see under 10× magnification
VS1,  VS2:  Very Slightly Included () - Inclusions are minor and range from difficult to somewhat easy for a skilled grader to see under 10x magnification
SI1, SI2:  - Inclusions are noticeable to a skilled grader under 10x magnification
I1, I2, and I3 - Inclusions are obvious under 10× magnification and may affect transparency and brilliance

CUT

Cut refers to the symmetry, finish, style and proportion of cut. Just graded as EXCELLENT, VERY_GOOD, GOOD, FAIR, POOR.

http://www.collectorfinejewelry.com/Images/quality_4cs/parts_of_gem.jpg

SHAPE

While round shapes are generally more valued, shape preference is a a personal choice.

Shapes included are :

    ROUND,
    OVAL,
    PEAR,
    MARQUISE,
    HEART,
    SQUARE,

BTG BITGEM AWARENESS

A new logo embodying the symbol of BitGem is shown here. The current ruby gem logo is nice, but this one is simple, minimalistic and can reach more people. If it is widely adopted, it will be added into next BitGem GemWallet release.

If you are an BitGem enthusiastic, feel free to use the logo anywhere.

Additionally a hybrid logo would be nice. Any suggestions are welcome.

Nice picture  ;D

I'm heartened that the price of humble #RussiaCoin has jumped over the last two to three weeks to be at 1,475 sats at Cryptopia heading towards the 1,500 mark and beyond.  Check us out over at Coin Market Cap: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/russiacoin/

Keeping #RussiaCoin going has been a labor of love over the last few years with a small, but dedicated group behind the scenes helping out.

I really must chase up (from Cryptopia)   Yannic and jtnalvarado who was talking about updating our interim website (thanks for the help there too BTW)  -  Then there's NoobKidOnTheBlock who looks in from time to time.

Plus     marcetin for providing the crowd funded nodes - they weren't maintained as highly as we'd hoped, but they got us through a rough patch.  Not to forget the SexCoin group for actually putting their hands in their pockets to crowd fund the nodes while their Dev lavajumper worked behind the screen to provide us with a working node and block explorer.  http://explorer.russiacoin.info/ http://archive.is/CJFiW#selection-159.0-189.3

Donations to lavajumper can be made in SXC or BTC via the explorer page - lavajumper _was_ working on our new RC Wallet, however, he's gone MIA on or around the 17th of November 2016 (18th of November 2017 depending on your time zone) I hope he's all right.

Then there's been the usual round of chasing up faucets, the endless giveaways of #RC over at Cryptopia and the like, so as you can see we may not have may boots on the ground, but we're a dedicated group who believe in #RussiaCoin's long term viability.

Year Three is definitely shaping up to be a great year.

GCR
Garbage you Can buy on Rex

The OP in this ANN has me a bit skeptical - it doesn't come off as being backed with loads of money, and lacks that "professional" look. I could have put something together much better than the OP, and I can't quite figure out if that is a good or bad thing..

On one hand, the coins current lowest bid on Bittrex at time of this post is BTC0.00003597 with a volume of BTC3.77057126, and perhaps it was created by somebody who knows what they're doing when it comes to crypto, but maybe lacks on the business/marketing side a bit.

I'm always on the lookout for good PoS coins and I came across this one today, but am still skeptical. If anyone can help shed some light on this coin (in particular info about the dev/backers), I would truly appreciate it!

Couldn't have said it better but something about this coin makes me want to believe!

Full disclosure, not invested yet.

It's been SEVERAL Months now since my Post on 2016 DECEMBER 23 asking for more information about this Coin - Not one single reply from any devs or GCR team members. Guess that answers my own question, but leaves me wondering why the price remains BTC0.00001995 with a trade volume of BTC4.41936244 on Bittrex.

Is there any dev, backer, staff, and/or team member that can help shed some light on the status of this Coin before they lose any more potential investors or is this Coin simply no longer relevant, which explains the drastic fall in price from my December Post?

It ranks on coinmarketcap with about 1.7 M was trying to find out whether they are still active. Their site by the way is this http://gcrcoin.com/ I don't see any dev of this project being active here. Thread looks dead but there's volume, I also visited their facebook page but page is not found anymore.

[ANN] Particl/ShadowCash- SCAM EXPOSED ALERT -DETAILS INSIDE - COMMUNITY WARNING
also no one buys the coin / ZERO btc trade on not polo Ex

Stringing people along over and over in a endless cycle. Now they are capitalizing on this stupidity and it is up to us vet traders to stomp them out.

ShadowCash has been a long running pump and dump operation for the past 3-4 years here on Bitcointalk. They told folks they would be creating a "decentralized darknet market in wallet" .... they strang many people along for years. Then some months back after the XMR massive rise from .50 cents they rebranded as "UMBRA" (They rebranded to UMBRA on August 8th) - to PUMP their coin again right around the time XMR took off. Only to let everyone know they are abandoning the shadow UBMRA project in its entirety (keep in mind UMBRA market never came to light) and moved to a new project called Particl. They wrecked many poor n00b souls to this crypt0 space. Stringing people along over and over in a endless cycle. Now they are capitalizing on this stupidity and it is up to us vet traders to stomp them out. A few months ago a channel trying to establish itself in this space known as Cryptocurrency Market started a new series of videos claiming they had some mysterious "sponsor" who was funding their channel and would provide us more details later. They then did a privacy coin special...and made subtle hints to buy SHADOWCASH before they abandoned the project and started particl. If you take a look at the SDC charts and compare to their privacy coin video series you will see the pumps that were created due to their "privacy bucket" video series. Shortly after the SDC project was abandoned Cryptocurrency Market has come out and revealed who has been sponsoring them this entire time! - SHADOWCASH /UBRA or w.e. AKA PARTICL. ....This entire thing stinks. The crypt0 space is maturing and it is time for original blockchains that bring innovation - no more of this copy paste rebranded recycled garbage.

Please see the video here and follow your gut: (you can tell starting @ 6:00 in the video Ryn0 is up to something reading his face and replies regarding the rebrand of SDC to "Shadowbanking?"...)

THE VEGAN INITIATIVE IS FEATURED ON BITCOINIST.COM - http://bitcoinist.com/vegan-initiative-cryptocurrency-project/

https://i.imgur.com/W3QcRPS.jpg

Hello, I am the developer of a new project called "The Vegan Initiative".
The Vegan Initiative (XVE) is not only a cryptocurrency, but an ambitious project involving the world of Veganism, that I will briefly illustrate now.
My idea about XVE cryptocurrency is about creating a new reward system for those who practice and embrace the Vegan philosophy.
A new system as I said, based on self-published reviews of new cosmetic products, food and so on.
Everyone can test, review and be paid through The Vegan Initiative, thanks to an advertisement marketing program.
I like to think about "The Vegan Initiative" as one idea that grows, like a plant, through community participation and enthusiasm. All of this, without being slave of the old, governments based money (recent news made Vegan practitioners even more disgusted about ordinary currencies - https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/nov/29/bank-of-england-urged-to-make-new-5-note-vegan-friendly).

NOTICE: If you are holding old PINK on poloniex, or in a wallet, you will need to swap them to the new coin. To do this, navigate to http://swap.with.pink/ (http://swap.with.pink/) and follow the instructions.

i fuking hate swaps ... they need to be banned after a certain point of maturity ... reboot hiJack malarkee OR straight fraud tends to happen!

the goal here is:

A. discovery of simple but functional POS projects
(preferably all run on the same standard CORE code)
for POS miners, devs, and related support networks

B. definitive mission statement for investors ...  finding the smaller cap POS coins that are still moving and offer higher return/risk potential than more the established/marketed projects.

I was into POS, really thinking it was great but as an investor why would I chose a POS coin? I CAN EASILY buy shares of Ford or Coca-Cola and not run any client and get ~5% a year with zero worries of the stock up and dying while prices still increase in value.

What POS coin is better than a reliable company stock?

Why are you even in crypto then?

If you prefer the classical stock market corp Borg fueled by banksters farting out paper decrees all day everyday since 1913.

And you is 100% incorrect no stock issues you more stock (they do divids which is cash not stock and most ROI are 30+ years for the fortune 500, that's no 5% yield).

POS is better than POW because the burden of labor is placed on the equity holder, thus it is in their best interest to support the network.

I repeat myself

... lend forward investing not lean back.
... we are seeking the small/mid Caps.

@kingcolex

Your the other kind of investor, you are looking for a solid will not fail making profits this very week and for years past.

So for 300 TALK can you tell me what crypto coin is that?

BTC costs several million$/day to operate, where's their revenue statement.

The only success of any crypto thus far is "store of value" and only with a great deal of volatility.

POS are the least volital ... because inflation goes to the share holders (who participate in mining) ... this concept is much the same as 'master nodes' which are so so sexy on the market this week.

POS right now are minature credit unions, that scale.

HINT ... as chains get older and raise more capital ... you don't need to stake ... professionals tend to industrialize that sector ... just as they have control of all the +$50M caps mining.

This thread is beta level small caps, high risk, HYIP stuff for DIYS early adopters.

Post by: BitcoinNational on April 20, 2017, 05:18:54 PM
I'm looking for a coin that will be around tomorrow and the next day not one that will always be making profits as that is just unrealistic. The idea with POS is to invest and have your investments grow, the more you invest the more your return and if you ignore the cash value 1 coin always equals 1 coin and if you have 100 coin and every year you net 2 coins for keeping the network running that's great as it compounds. The issue is most of these coins aren't working, most die and in 3 years how many have died you may have had earned 6% + due to compounding but if the coin is now delisted and have 5% the userbase the coin is essentially dead. The issue is what will stick around as the interest for most isn't good enough for short lifespans and encourages dumps and fools getting stuck with the bags.

I'm looking for the same.

What was here yesterday, still here today, likely going to be here tomorrow, and years after.

The rule is must exist for 1 year before you get on the list.

I do post new coins in the thread, that spark my interest.  But no POS project is listed in the official table without surviving at least 1 year in the wild.

The high inflation coins don't bother me much, because you look at capital, not price on the chart.  However, very few of the +50% interest coins have faired well.

I am representing TALK primarily here, 15% annual, and if you review the data cost of operation is under $5/day.  BLK is a more established stakes and costs less than $25/day.

These are ultra cost efficient networks.

Hi! I am from BITS forum and love to hear excatly what you and your group is doing? What are benfits for coins that are on your list? Recently we were decided by polo to get delisted and after that BITS price decline has been very strong. Its very frustrating since bits price had slowely over years done very well and was on good run up when this announcement came.

SQL PINK CACHE is coming back.
NOBL MAR CNN 808 PAC  ;D

POS coins are going to go huge after n00bies like me figure out that mining any top of the page coins is IMPOSSIBLE.  And the only way to still mine is with under $1M pos coins.  yuge!   Because only NAV, POT, BLK are even noticed by traders, SDC and RUBY were trash value.

There is still months left to get a hold of the Top50 pos projects before the time is 2late.  MOONTIME when ETH goes POS and promotes staking to the mass.

So is that the goal here?

Finding the Top50 pos coins.

Massive ROI potential for participants.   Next key idea.

This experiment needs to help steward, most all of the suggested POS coins.   That means talented coders updating source code with necessary up-dates.  Nodes and Block Explorers, and finally marketing teams.

Could work!  There is something here!

How?  TALK is a stake in all Top50 POS coins.  It is a fund, correct?

There is something meaningful and potential.
