But it really depends on the language you want to program in, it would be easier to just look for a tutorial (on Youtube for example) on how to implement certain aspects of Bitcoin in your language of choice.

If you want to work on blockchain based projects, then you need to spend time and study the bitcoin / ether eco-system.
