There are a ton of resources available for Bitcoin developers, I'll share a few links. But it really depends on the language you want to program in, it would be easier to just look for a tutorial (on Youtube for example) on how to implement certain aspects of Bitcoin in your language of choice.

If you want to work on bitcoin projects, you need to master the basics of Bitcoin and have good skills in programming, using APIs and SDKs is way better.
If you want to work on blockchain based projects, then you need to spend time and study the bitcoin / ether eco-system.

First of all i recommend you to reading this book in order to understand the technology behind bitcoin, the blockchain.

This ebook is suitable for those who want to learn blockchain programming as well as bitcoin development, also basic information like bitcoin address, public key, priv key and many more, so far the book is understandable for me. Goodluck for you.
