Title: So you thought Bitcoin is dead, huh? NEVER!
Post by: Techie5879 on December 25, 2016, 10:30:47 AM
Well, People were almost too sure that bitcoin was going to be revolutionary in 2013, when it reached its peak price. However, since then, there was a huge crash, when the price came down quite close to an all time low. Thats when stuff like 'BTC is dead again', and 'Bitcoin is dead again' stuff started coming up. Since then, it has made quite a comeback, despite all criminals using it, and stuff like Silk Route and drug markets which relied on Bitcoins. Experts say that it might be onto a very big price, which it can reach quite soon, and also that bitcoin has reached its mainstream this year, right after the July, 2016 halving.

Now the estimated transaction volume of bitcoin is around $200,327,041 BTC, which is quite a value for something supposedly 'dead', with an average of 240,820 transactions per day, according to blockchain.info. And there are still more than 70% of the people who havent even used bitcoin ever. In recent months, bitcoin grabbed tremendous attention because its underlying technology, the blockchain, also can be used to reinvent the exchange of stock and other financial securities.

bitcoin didn't crash, it is not technically correct to say that the same way it is never right to say bitcoin is dead or going to die.
what happened was a bubble and like any other market in the whole world when a bubble takes shape, there is always a burst coming after it and none of those bubble bursts in other markets are called "crash" so it shouldn't be called crash here either.

and about being dead or going to die, yeah i have been saying it is bullshit when price was down and am still saying it when price went up nothing has changed bitcoin is still strong.

It's incredible how easy people use this phrase: ''Bitcoin is death''.
I heard it many times :)
Well, such statements didn't come based on some concrete facts but more based on  feelings.
When price of BTC went down from 1100 $ to 300-400 $ many users was unhappy but it's natural, nothing to worry about.
Look at the market, it's happens all the time.
More important is not present moment but future, and I'm confident that future will bring us a lot happy moments soon!

I personally never think Bitcoin is dead. Even if the price fall way below that our lowest after the 2013-14 bubble, Bitcoin is still never dead. Bitcoin (and others similar cryptocurrency) is only death when the developers stop developing the coin and no one controls the network. Take a look at some other altcoin. Most of them failed because developers stop responding or when no one have interest to help the network. An example will be HYPER, even though the developers stop giving updates and the price keep falling lower and lower, there is a 'big' interest for a community-takeover.

It is good to see Bitcoin going into the 900 range again. It looks like it is dropping back to the 700 range now. However ...

Yes, the same thing happens to stock markets. But I've never seen people saying 'the stock market is dead', meh. Even the media are trying to find something always just so that they can say 'Bitcoin is DEAD!'. What the hell, why do they want to humiliate it?

Even if the same scenario will happen again, I would not lose hopr in bitcoin even if it were to dump to below 300$ or 200$. I sill just buy and hoard coins by that time and wait for it to rise so high again since I have hope that even if the same thing will happen again in the near future, bitcoin will climb up and will give it's users profit again especially those who have lots of bitcoin.

Same here. If the price crashes we'll buy loads more.

hush hush!
we have been doing it for ages. whenever there is a crash happening that day is the best day of my life. i already had a couple of these days. but 2 of them stand out:
1) the day price went down to $170
2) the day bitfinex was hacked and price went down to ~500

Bitcoin will never be dead .and if the price of bitcoins goes down, we will buy lots of more bitcoins and then we will sell it when the price will be much more and have a better profit.

That scenario can never happen again. People are well-aware of block-chain technology and bitcoin now, it's not possible at all. Even if any exchange gets hack or something, there might be a temporary "small" crash in value of bitcoin, but there are absolutely no chances of big crash anymore.

Bitcoin is becoming as precious as gold now. ;)

It cannot go down as soon as there are miners, traders and other people interested in it. If miners will stop, the price will go down instantly because it would show us how much is the world interested in using Bitcoin, and in that case it would look like way less people are going to buy Bitcoin. The price is also widely manipulated by traders.

i like that slogan keep calm and trust in bitcoin, i think its definitely true, we should give our trust to bitcoin, because bitcoin is new crypto currency and needs time before people in all of the country know and using bitcoin. as long as we still use bitcoin, then bitcoin become stronger than before and could grow more.

The media is so stupid, you can tell they only pay attention to bitcoin when it's soaring, instead of realizing how undervalued it is when it's going down and report the low price as a great buying opportunity, but this is why people never get rich, they only look at assets when they are flying high instead of picking them up on the floor.

The best is not listen to the noise from the news and the speculation out there. The bitcoin will not be dead if the price will claim to 900USD and then crash to 500USD. The news is always looking for news that will permit to have the much audience possible.

The best, see the bitcoin the same way even the price claim and claim or go lower ;). The more the price will claim, the more you see news out there, both are in correlation.

The only reason people say that bitcoin is dead is because they want to trick people in to selling their bitcoin , since its huge success and the increase in both people using it and investment we have seen many haters since the price has gone up very high it became for those who didn't trust it unabe to get their hands on it so instead they want to make the ones who did give up on it.

I don't think that I've ever had a serious doubt as to whether or not Bitcoin was going to be able to keep itself alive. If anything, I've cared a lot more about the potential for government regulations and taxes to kill it. It is highly unlikely for Bitcoin to die on its own volition, and chances are outside forces are going to have to exert a lot of influence to do anything.

Bitcoin will never die because there are many people using it and it's very popular as the Gold.
I sold gold to buy BTC for storage for long term . it's very safe and easy to move to anywhere.

We need information about hype and FUD (noise) about bitcoin and check the current updates and development  then analyze the situation before taking decision in every buy or sell we are making.  This factors are needed in order to predict the next trend of bitcoin price and what to do with it.

I never thought that bitcoin is dead even though the price keep declining way back 2014 after the bubble in Dec. 2013 burst.  It was manipulated so the price need to correct itself at that time's current value of Bitcoin, and it was way overpriced so a decline in price is expected.  Clever people took the opportunity and spread FUD to buy Bitcoin at even more cheaper price. So that was  the Bitcoin is Dead About.

same thing i prefer bitcoin over gold, because it offer some sort of anonymity, and it's less "cumbersome" than gold, if gold was not used in real life in the industry it would have no meaning to exist anymore, it's no like in the past where the value were based on gold, and bitcoin is actually a match to fiat unlike gold
