Title: Panic deficit
Post by: Grant on June 15, 2011, 11:34:14 AM
This is an interesting situation, there seems to be a panic deficit, something no money can buy.

All technical indicators show a "need" for a correction. For example s3052's: http://chart.ly/bkh9bpa

That's in addition to the many roumors of hacked accounts, Buttsec lulzing the exchanges security and what not.

Where are you mr. Panic ? Volume is low, we're awaiting you ;)

never seen MtGox so flat, it's getting boring

MtGox is down. I can't reach the site, the tickers are getting buggy too. Either DoS or some kind of trouble on their side.

But yea, even with serious downtimes, volume is too low. People just don't want to make a decision. But the price can't just be fixed to 20, so I'm also waiting for someone to finally pull the trigger.

Calm before the storm. This is a great time to buy.

The sellside orderbook is growing. We need either a large buy through 24 or a sell through 16 to get going...

Comon Panic sell or panic buy! ;)

Calm before the storm. This is a great time to buy.

I bought yesterday when it was at 18.50. I hope it was a smart idea.

I'd love to buy, its a shame the entire process of buying takes over a week to process. Especially since the difficulty is about to increase.

I've not even done test-trades yet. I want to try trading just 1-2 bitcoins to see how it works and try and gain a small amount of day-trade cash before I do any serious investments, but when it takes over a week to clear and go through the whole process....

Ugh. Makes me feel like I'll be missing out on a real opportunity to invest.

You might be surprised to find that next week you can buy more bitcoins with your money than you can now.

Why is that? People are saying it'll only go up, and with the difficulty increase I can see that happening.

Price does NOT follow difficulty.

Price does NOT follow difficulty.

Well that still doesn't answer the question why I should hold off on buying for 7 days

Right now it's easier to move the market down than rising the price.

How so? I'm no economics expert so I'm interested in knowing why.

Do you think the market WOULD be moved down? Just because it is easier for it to go down doesn't mean it does.
