Title: Is running a bitcoin faucet still worth it?
Post by: AdolfinWolf on December 26, 2016, 02:56:01 PM
Is it still worth it to own a bitcoin faucet, are people still using it? If i would make one, is it possible to add my site to some kind of rotator or not? Anyone who could give some info about this?

I would say it's not, the question sounds like "is it still profitable to make a altcoin and collect a lot money from the ICO", if you want to make money, do something else, do something news, be the first.

Starting a Bitcoin faucet is not worth your time. there are several of those out there and they are all losing revenue from the botting, or cometetion from other faucets. faucets don't psy their users a lot anyway and it makes it not worth it to spend 5 seconds with fauets. If you want to make maknoey using Bitcoin, I would suggest learning a skilol, even if it means learning a second language. at least then you would be able to translate.

Depends on what kind of faucet you want to start, if you go with one that includes advertisements, you may not lose money as long as the ad revenue payout is more than you lose from the faucet payout.

Don't think so, maybe some "faucet" with some twist. Rather than a regular faucet, combine faucet with watching ads and the more ads one opens more will earn from the next withdraw. I don't know, think of something. :D

If you can build large traffic from good countries bitcoin faucet can be still profitable all depends how you monetize your faucet.. since many faucet owners are not succeed because many bots are draining their faucet i think for now better to study the security just to decrease or prevent bots in your site.. and if you can do that it can be profitable..

It depends:
Worth for the users...certainly if you manage well.
Worth for the owner...yes if you have fun like me to programme it and to manage it.
it's worth for me to own my UNIQUE faucet because I have fun  and it is worth for my user to use an unique kind of faucet which is one of the best rewarding faucet nowadays.(i do not know many faucets rewarding over 1000 satoshi per claim)

I say is not worth.
And I say it like a faucet owner with 2 years experience in this niche.
Since Adsense blocked all bitcoin faucets, there is no way to offer high rewards. Sure .. you can offer 100 Satoshis but this won't bring you any benefits.

Yeah, sure we all believe you :)
Read my words: it is not possible to offer 1000 Satoshis every hour atm.  Because you can't earn that much.

Read my words:
I have never said every hour...it's every 12 hours.
it's sometimes more and it's sometimes less because my system is market regulated.it is what is making the system UNIQUE.
Why asking members to claim 24 times a day if it is possible to earn the same with twice a day?

Read my words:I said nowadays...

In this case ... 2000 Satoshis in 24 hours it is a very low amount ...
I was giving 1000 Satoshis every 2 hours on CoinDrip.

It depends  no traffic quality now days. If you have good quality traffic e.g. traffic from United states, United Kingdom, Canada, Brazil etc than you maybe in profit but if your  faucet gets traffic from countries like Ukraine, India, China than you will be in loss or may be you can break even but profit would be far thing.

My faucet is market regulated:
The profit is set by members themself...and the members claim if they believe it is worth...
Why claim by winspiral if a claim is better other where?
Why not claim by winspiral if it is better by winspiral?
It is so easy  to understand this:go where you feel it is more profitable:
it's clear for my members:they know instant earning and global earning of the site...the game is to manage for the best...i said you:my faucet is UNIQUE.
i'm the first saying:do not claim by winspiral if you have better to do...but if next days only one or two claimer per week...the reward per claim will certainly be 10000 satoshi and then believe me more than 2 people will claim by winspiral.

You should try something new instead of going the old faucet script thing.
Rewarding people in bitcoins is not dying. But rewarding them simply for filling a captcha is always prone to bots.

Maybe if you can create some game or something interesting where people might want to spend time and get rewarded in bitcoins. That can be profitable.

We are creating Mobile games with bitcoin Rewards.  See "Spacey The Bird" in my signature :)

In the past faucets were an amazing way to monetize traffic and owners and faucet claimers, i do remember to had claiming between 10 minutes and i were able to earn something like 300-700 satoshis, this faucets are dead, since adsense and others networks after a long period allowing to monetize the traffic, even going agaisnt their tools, there were a group interested into those traffic, but they arent anymore supporting faucets, since its an incentive game.
If still being profitable i dont know, i were able to manage one faucet long time ago and i werent getting nothing more then 100-200k daily of proof, but from one moment to another it went into 30-50k daily. Too many bots draining the faucet that had antiblocker, anyway bots will always kill faucets.
