Title: Crypto profit of the 2016 - Final version
Post by: Febo on December 29, 2016, 12:12:09 PM
Only coins with more then $500k market capitalisation are listed here and only the one that were listed on Poloniex from January 2016.  So for sure there are few more suitable coins that should also be listed here.
And this is not an investment advice. I am sure many of this coins have huge disabilities.

It is always the same coins who stays on the top, no need to add leocoin, she is not worth the bytes needed to be added to the table.
Great job, what i think is the most choking here is the value of the bitcoin, so, if i understand well, it gained 400$ right ?

Thanks for putting the list together Op,I'm still surprised by the fact ripple is above Monero, overall.

I didn't noticed this point, how a coin with so much supply can overcome monero, i don't really believei n monero as a currency, but ripple completly centralised, and the supply is simply HUGE. the guys there know they are doing, not like these cryptonotes.

Yes price of Bitcoin more then doubled in 2016. But that is little comparing to some other coins.

Now when I read what you said I am not sure if you understood me. Those prices are of those coins in BTC and in $ one year ago on 1st January 2016. In 2 days we will get new numbers in BTC and $ and will be able to calculate how much each coin gained.

List is made by https://coinmarketcap.com/   There are listed coins with biggest capitalisation. Ripple is high because of lots of coins. Capitalisation is price* number of coins.

Please this article is not as an investment advice, but solely to see who made best investment 1 year ago.
Is more for fun, since if we look period of time from October 2015 to October 2016 we would most likely get totally different numbers.

Bitcoin still king of all cryptos. No doubt. Its very obvious and its still no serious competition.
Dash, ethereum, litecoin are doing just fine. Maybe ethereum just fail a bit. But i still believe in this crypto. Maybe these coins will be the problem of bitcoin in the future. So for now, just hold and sleep tight.

Ether it's not a problem, and ether is altcoin has made by Vitalik butter and he has the different ecosystem with bitcoin.

I cannot disregard the fact that ETH had an amazing, amazing year in 2016 (Even with all the issues having taken place). On paper, it still showed the success its reached in such time.

Haha I did not actually mean it in that sense but even by technical specifications and algos used,Monero seems to be a much professionally organized project.I have not encountered a single crypto service wherein ripple is accepted actively.Speaking of Monero, you know it's everywhere!I'd not hesitate to say that Monero would be my bitcoin alternative!

yes its true, eth have a good time in 2016 and don't forget with etc too because etc now is a good time to get up while we can see on the market, the volume is up and they are a good movements from the buyer and the seller. i think the other coins like xmr, ltc, dash, doge is on the way to give us some profit in the last days of 2016.

Interesting list and thread.
It will give the opportunity for many to get a glimpse of what the market loves or hates and the opportunity for some to advertise or bash certain coins.

Yea Monero cam be some kind of competition to BTC.
But 1st need fast and clean GUI today it offers many promises and people bet on it.
If i want chose some coin monero is my pick distribution unique and independent.
Coin that can be serius one vs BTC is monero for sure in few years.
But if they fail in development it can be easy swamped by another unknown coin yet.

BTC as store of value is King

Among those listed cryptocoins the most meaningful growth in value of market capitalization are Ethereum and Monero. The volume that it had speaks for itself. We have all seen that it reached in the amount of hundreds of millions worth of trades. All the others only reached a fraction of that volume.

I generally use https://coinmarketcap.com/
to look at market cap, price, volume, etc

They have a "Historical Snapshot" section but I don't see anything that tracks yearly gains.

You are all scammy ass fuckheads.

All i ever see and hear is how much can i make off of XYZ shitcoin.

None of you give two shits if it's scammy or not.
Which makes YOU scammy !

You supporting them is just as bad as the dev making them.

None of you exercise a shred of integrity.
You simply wander around like stupid little bafoons clutching BTC looking for your ROI's.

Oh it's listed on an exchange somewhere ?
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It must be legit then huh ?
Otherwise why would it be on Poloniex right ?

Take.. my.. money.. NOW !

90% of you are worthless little pieces of shit and have no right being in Crypto.
You are pathetic little victims waiting to be preyed on so you can whine about it.
You shouldn't be here in the first place and you should just GTFO.

These are not penny stocks.
These are not companies.
This bullshit does not exist to pad your wallet with luscious sweet BTC ROI's.

You are all fucking little cancer heads that should leave.
Your presence contributes absolutely nothing what so ever to Crypto.

Tell me 1 single thing the typical little spineless greedy little kidiot contributes to the scene
when he wanders around looking for what ever the fuck is listed on Polo for profits.
Seriously people..
Tell me what that type of user does for the advancement of a crypto currency.

Seriously tell me how these cancer-head fucking leeches further adoption.
Or ANYTHING constructive / positive or meaningful.

What does your list her mean FEBO ?
Not a fucking god damn thing.

And yeah Monero is a scammy ass pile of fucking bullshit i would not "invest" in with YOUR money.

Good luck being the worlds stupidest little greedy vampires.
I am sure it will work out brilliantly for ya all.

Trust me i WILL be laughing.. not you idiots.

Only 7.  there were many top5-20 list made in last few days, this will be  with almost 50. and will be with GTM timing.

On second look that article is bad, since they added ETC that did not exist on 1st January. How they calculated their gain in 2016 is a mystery to me. Also they are not listed by winners, but just by market cap.
Much better list is the one that forced me to start this.
https://i.imgur.com/z5PVTp9.png

And is still so bad that I decided to do this.

sorry, Guldens must first get listed on Poloniex. I should probably also include Bittrex, but decided not to to finish it faster. Maybe next year I will include more coins. Would love to weed them by overall volume then by exchange. But for this year this is what I got.  Well Gulden might still be excluded from my next years list because of ** Significantly Premined.

Look around seen a backlash to ICO scams etc ?
Yup you do. morality changed and i called it in advance.

THIS was a heavy contributor to people turning their attention away from stupid fucking shitcoins and towards a Bitcoin worth a thousand dollars.

THIS was a heavy contributor to people turning their attention away from stupid fucking shitcoins and towards a Bitcoin worth a thousand dollars.

Notice how i predict EVERYTHING NON STOP and i am always 100% right ?

Take my word for it or i can go dig up my old posts from months ago with my predictions.

The altcoin section is the bridge and i am waiting under it.
You shit stains can't get out of the ANN section with out crossing the bridge
..and i am waiting for you  ;D  8)

I did the work.
I will take the credit.

Hello sory after reading 2 of your post, i am confused.

Do you support cryptocurrencies or you hate it, because from your words tbh i can see alot of vulgarities and i dont understand what it means  :-\

Well, I have witnessed the fast growth of Monero and Ethereum, I still remember when both coins were under $1. Some tokens has the same potential for the next year as the crypto field is prospering and improving, as well as Bitcoin marketcap has already passed $15 billion.

Spoetnik is like Roger Ver, he invest in any coin. He dont have time to spend it on what they are about but he just dump some cash in each one of them.
But on other hand, he claims he dont care of any crypto including Bitcoin, since all are something that humanity dont need.

Point of this list was exactly for people like you that only noticed. Monero and Ethereum. But as you see there were quite many profitable coins. Yes, some of them dont have huge volume, but this list was made fro small investors, not those that have millions of $. I am sure they have their own way better lists.

You don't "understand" what a crypto currency is ..that is the problem.

Just because you trade it on Poloniex for profit.. does not make it a currency Investards  ::)

Looks like it was a close race for the top 3.  NEM could had taken #1 if it had stayed above $45 million mktcap.  PotCoin could had won too with a little bit more mktcap, too.

I am not surprised from Monero's price and I believe that was expected in cryptocurrency world. Some users has characterized it as "anon-coin" because none can doubt that its best feature is anonymity. Imho monero is one of the most highly promising altcoins in the future.

https://poloniex.com  trade all 3 you mention.

https://coinmarketcap.com  if you click on coin and then select "markets" tab  it wil list you all markets ( exchanges ) where this coin is traded. Also what was yesterday volume on that exchange.

Only coins with more then $500k market capitalisation are listed here and only the one that were listed on Poloniex from January 2016.  So for sure there are few more suitable coins that should also be listed here.
And this is not an investment advice. I am sure many of this coins have huge disabilities.

Next to bitcoin, Monero is the only worth coin. Investors can buy it with trust. No other coins have performed good in comparison to monero. Zcash was expected a lot but it didnt proved it.

Hi there,

Your Nav coin data is incorrect. Nav coin had a name change from Navajo coin. The price at 1 Jan 2016 was 500 sat instead of 5000 sat.

Please have a look at it :)

Very impressive returns for POT potcoin. Just getting started. 2017 will be a huge year for all marijuana related businesses.

Guess they will legalize it everywhere not a bad start of year.

Arizona voted against legalizing marijuana this election cycle, and I'm sure they're not the only one, either. So no, it is not being legalized everywhere.

In regards to the table, note GAME/BCY performance in comparison to Bitcoin. Video games are the land of opportunity for altcoins.

Hi mate,

Great job!

I would be great if you can update your chart since NAV Coin had a different value.
NAV's value was 436 sats.
NAV should be between SDC and VIA.

Thanks!

Only coins with more then $500k market capitalisation are listed here and only the one that were listed on Poloniex from January 2016.  So for sure there are few more suitable coins that should also be listed here.
And this is not an investment advice. I am sure many of this coins have huge disabilities.

This board is very useful for me. Thank you for your listing.
I still like dash, via, XMR and I usually spend 30% total money for investing those coins.

Maybe it would be interesting to have some website displaying such information, they usually give 24h info, not the wole year, by the way, it is a great tool for investors, again, nice job.
How about asking coinmarketcap to provide this kinde of information ? or cryptocompare ? or any other statistics provider ?
