Doesnt matter, it doesnt look like a bubble this time. Its just price increase, i mean maybe not 950$ but it should be easy steady and long term 800$ :), from here is very close to 1000$ in 2017 :)

Pessimistic thread title! Hasn't Bitcoin surprised previously? :) And 2016 ends at different times in different places, no timezone specified... ;D

A bit of a joke, obviously. Doesn't really matter how Bitcoin closes the year, price-wise :)

It maybe fails to reach 1000$ in 2016 but it is almost close into it from 900$ to 950$. Meaning the prediction or estimation by the other's is really closed unto it, Therefore by next year it will surely hit the target price or more.

As per title. Don't expect fireworks tonight.

as per title it is the stupidest topic of 2016
bitcoin price started from $400 and has gone up to $950 which is more than double profit, who cares about $50 more rise?

and actually it is a good thing that we have not gone above $1000 because there would have been cash outs and price would have became unstable.

Who cares?  ;D If btc was failing to reach over $1000 at the end of 2016 but we will be getting $1000 at 2017.

Are there chances for the 2014 scenario will happen again? But i was feeling optimism if this is not a bubble time. Expecting bitcoin goes with his stabilization at 2017.  ;D

It is not over until it is over. While the chances of reaching 1000 are low you may never know we may have another spectacular rally, and bitcoin will reach that mark, but in any case is not important bitcoins going to definitely rise above that mark in 2017.

Its okay. We dont need to rush everything. I thought we will reach $1000 before the year ends but its not. Anyway, theres still a chance we will reach $1000 this coming 2017. Right now, we are at $950+. It become more stable because we are stuck at that price. 2017 will surely the best year of bitcoin. I feel it. Expect the unexpected.

If someone ask me whether I want Bitcoin to cross $1000 or never wanna see it below $800. I will choose second one!
And Don't feel  blue so soon, Bitcoin can surprise anytime.  ;)

Well, maybe you're right, that bitcoin failed to reach a price of $ 1000, although it was very close to the bitcoin to achieve it. but it did not matter, because I believe it will begin in 2017 that will come. Well, this is a very good price to start the new year. I believe bitcoin will be better this year.

It doesn't matter at all, maybe it will not reach $1000 but look the current price, it's more than $900 so close to $1000, it's only more than $500 months ago.
And 2016 is not over yet just don't lost hope ;D

we've got the best results at this time. there is nothing to worry about because the movement of bitcoin is very positive.
continue to monitor prices in the next year and I am optimistic about the price of bitcoin is above 1000USD.

this is not even a glass half full/empty situation! bitcoin has gone up 120% from the start of this year, so i am going to let that final 5% to $1000 go it is too small to matter.

I am surprised at this post. It is still too early to say that BTC has failed to break in to the four-digit exchange rate. We still have somewhere around 12-14 hours to go, and considering Bitcoin's past history, I would say that there is still a good chance to achieve the $1,000 per coin exchange rate.

Yeah but that's not what this discussion is about its about if btc hit 1k and the answer is now when the world is talking because the world prices btc in usd.

As per title. Don't expect fireworks tonight.

Even if it does reach $1000 today, then still there isn't any fireworks for me. I cashed out my profits already around $960-$970 so there is not much more to gain for me. Right now it's business as usual where I am pointing my focus on the volatile aspect of the market. That's the only thing at this point that gets me excited for now. On another note, the title is a bit harsh as the negative tone overrules what we have achieved so far.

The point of the China breaking $1,000 is also a valid point as well as the US point of view. Both are valid because we all don't live in the same area so we would be getting different points of view. But I think the best measure would be is to price it according to a trading platform available to everyone like poloniex or other exchanges.

Pooya87 made a good point here, why people are greedy? And why people are anxious to get to 1000 so fast?
You are right about glass metaphor, this is not that situation cause we dont know is it a glass, bottle, or some barrel. We dont know where is half, when will be full. Waiting is only way we to find out possibilities of bitcoin.

Well it's a god damn psychological barrier that is why it matters. Not the extra $50. I thought that was obvious to all.

I would say that indeed the prices have doubled from the same time last year, but that extra $50 would have been just for the purpose of getting a milestone for bitcoins. Reaching $1,000 would make a statement that bitcoins are valued that much and the world might get in on the fun and try to integrate it to every system in the real world, like groceries or utility bills.

its fails to break the $1000 barrier in 2016 but i think we have another option in after new year and its wide open for the bitcoin price to increase more than $1000. maybe we can see a new price of bitcoin in chinese new year and we can celebrate it with happy smile.

Maybe or maybe not. The prices might stick to $950 we won't know for sure until it happens. The chinese new year might not even affect bitcoin prices because the mythical chinese whales might not be true and everybody holding bitcoins are outside of china. I think it would still rely on the supply and demand of bitcoin, maybe raising the demand for it would reliably increase the price than just speculating over it.

i think it wont hit $1000 this year but atleast we have the $940 per bitcoin price that's a huge price than last year so this year is so great for me. and also im already done cashing out my investment here in bitcoin and i make a large amount of money from doing that. :D
im gonna invest again on bitcoin when it drop down. so ican make money again when it pop up .
