Bitcoin was over $800 from 26th November 2013 to 6th December 2013. So 11 Days.
Now is over $800 from 21th December 2016 so 10 days. One more day and we will hit the longest streak with Bitcoin over $800.

I am currious how long this will continue when we hit the 1000 marker.
Btc vs the Pound already hitted the ATM this month.

I am also not sure about this and would like to see some inputs from long time members .Hope the price is moving in the range of $950 on average and i really did not understand why the price jumped from $800 and hope the bubble will burst at any time and reach back to the level of 800 in a short time.

We better get used to Bitcoin staying over $800 for a long time. The rise this time has been more steady than the mad rush in 2013.
The price is not going to drop below $800 anytime soon. Those who didn't buy have missed the bus.  :)

nice information. and the difference is that 2013 was a fake pump but today we are genuinely seeing a nice rise to $800+ based on the slow rise that has been happening over the course of last two years and more.

I think Bitcoin price will be stable at 900+usd. If there isn't anything to happen, The price will grow up to 1,250usd in 3 next months.
I will keep my bitcoins and buy them when the price is crashed. That is best way to make more money.

No surprises. Yes, we are going to have longest streak of $1000+ by the way more importantly a new ATH.

The strongly sustaining prices are indicating bitcoin still has more potential to scale new peaks. This potential will keep on growing when new investors hit bitcoin ecosystem. Overall, we are moving toward moon, a longest possible path human so far found.

yes its true and i am agree withyou, i think the price is really slow to get increase and meanwhile the price is going to fluctuate for going up and down in everyday. but i hope in the new year moment, the price is going to be up especially in chinese new year in february.

Of course that some occasional dumps are normal and necessary but I hope they will not be too big and that the price will remain somwhere between 800 and 900 with tendencija to go up without big drops. Hope the 2017 will be the best so far for bitcoins users.

my speculation is that we will never see any price lower than $800 ever and even if another terrible thing happens such as that big hack of a couple of months ago (bitfinex) the price can only go down there for a short time before investors sell their kidneys to buy more bitcoin cheap and a bounce back will happen.

Could someone tell me please that what price is still considered profitable with electricity cost of $0.07 KWH? then I will tell if the above $800 is going to maintain from now on or not, if we stay in above $800 range for more than 2 weeks then the price will remain and will increase from there forward.
I just wish that first 3 big miners avoid dumping more than 100 bitcoins from their long term stashed coins because that's when price starts to dump.

$500 and i don't know where you bring your electricity cost but if we are talking about profitability for miners then that is the price you are looking for because they were making profit happily when price was $200 and reward was 25BTC and to be the same considering the difficulty it has to be $500 with 12.5BTC reward.

i don't really get this we are already at $945-977 range! why is $800 any significant for you?

3 miners dumping 100 bitcoin each is 300BTC and 3 big miners are pools but even if we assume they are holding that much and dump it then 300BTC is only 0.3% of daily trade volume.

it is good to look at the charts and see an exchange once in a while before speculating my friend!

And we're still above $800, very comfortably above too. I hope we never see sub $800 again. I really hope 2017 is the most positive year for bitcoin in its short lifetime. I hope for upwards of $1500 by the end of the year.

I'm one of those longing for that price. This is the year that I won't waste my time and money in buying some stuffs that I don't really need.
Let us all stay positive that the price will go rise and rise 'till it reaches $1500 'till the end of the year.

That's a good sign, and it shows that Bitcoin is growing the way it should. In the last big price spikes, there was a lot of bubble effect, there were people buying and selling just for a quick profit, without knowing the true potential of Bitcoin, and the market was more restricted. Now, there are more users, and people are buying because somehow this can make their lives easier, it's something useful for them.

Back then was 9 days over $900. Right now is 8th day with price over $900. So if price will stay over $900 for two more days we will have a new all time record.

All those statistics confirm that bitcoin is as solid as ever now. This growth is much more healthy than the 2013 one, just go on bitstamp and compare the steep angle of the first 30 to 1200 rally, it's almost a 90 degree line, compare it to the current rally starting at around 150 at around February 2015... the line is way less abrupt, a more healthy range that will continue delivering gains.

I think we will beat the record for $1000 soon too, since last time it was above $1000 for only a couple of days.

As much as I'm hoping this as well, we just have to take a look on the chart history and see that Bitcoin has crashed several times before.
So nothing is for certain and this is what I'm always thinking about.
Bitcoin maybe needs to reach prices like 4000-5000 to stay above 800 if it should crash again.
Always keep in mind that it is all about cycles, up and down.Let's hope the up cycles is larger and holds much longer than the next down cycle!

I think the Chinese miners are getting cheap/free electricity, so they're being subsidized by the Chinese state. If the electricity prices ever rose, I expect mining would move somewhere else.

there was very good explanation in one video about hwy there are so much BTC mined in China. Has nothing to do with anything getting free.  More like poor planing, what happen in socialist countries where capital dont run the progress.

In short there is so much mining right now in china because they cant transfer all electricity they produce right now. Mining bitcoins close to powerplant, helps them store that electricity that would be other way wasted.   This will solve by itself, but not in 1 year.  But on other hand Bitcoin is right now solving another problem in china.



It seems we will at least double the longest period of time Bitcoin was over $800 if not even triple it.

From now on We are hard to see the price under 800$ and Now we must refers to the concept of 1,000$ per bitcoin.

I would hardly believe that price under $800 is impossible. I also hardly believe that we will not see $2000 Bitcoin in 2017.

I am not so much interested in such calculations of periods about the price for bitcoin. I think now bitcoin became more stabile and known crypto currency and others just try to repeat the success of bitcoin. The price will continue to grow this time and I'm sure that we will see the point of 1200$ again soon.

It's only the longest time if we take into account every price dip.

But I'm sure that we now will see definitively the longest period over 800, as I predict that we will be over 800 at least 6-7 weeks, probably more. It's only a bit early to claim "the longest period".

The price of bitcoins would hit 1400$ at the end of this month or the 2nd week of may .well if you have bitcoins at that time during 800$ then it is highly likely that you are  earning a lot profit and it is the best for your future.

What a great observation! I haven't even thought of that. Maybe I just didn't care as long as it is on the 4 digits.  ;D
But that is really awesome and maybe it could even past that number. Yeah I hope so.
I thought the events that happened would make it weaker but it go the other way in which many of us are profiting now from that big wave.

The price has recovered nicely despite all black scenarios and predictions. Only some smaller dumps appeared and we can say that the price is kept all the time at the very high level that also shows Bitcoin has become stronger and more resistant to different challenges and issues on the way.

If you look back at all the "bad news" that we have seen in the last years, then it's either pure fud, or no bad news at all. People must learn to read through certain articles and announcements. If that's the case, then people won't fall for all this fud and other nonsense so easily. Good thing is that it doesn't have any impact on the long term price, and it won't do so in the future. These situations allow coins to flow into stronger hands. That's the benefit.

We may see a longest period of time with Bitcoin Under $800 if BTC U succeed of gaining 66.6%+1 support for hard fork. IDN maybe i'm too cautious now, but i don't want to see anything like this soon. Just a softfork for 2MB blocks maybe.

Well if its trending news you should follow the flow because you will just miss the opportunity to make profit..
So if you heard a bad news and gradually will be trend soon better to sell your bitcoins right now .. to get the benefits of the price increase and buy again once the price of bitcoin is low.. because i am sure the price will recover back soon..

There is a difference between those that get sucked into something and sell as result (because they believe whatever fud nonsense that comes their way), and those that actually benefit from each and every up and down movement. I am more referring to people fitting in the afore mentioned example. They don't benefit -- they sell their coins at a loss in panic, and then later regret their selling decision where they buy back at a premium.

Right now it is probably the longest period that bitcoin has stayed above $1000.

I mean it is just awesome to see bitcoin surviving all the ups and downs and pulling through to win in the end. It is awesome to see for both the bitcoin bagholders and the bitcoin believers.

But i expect a short term adjustment right now, i don't know if i'm right but it does seem like it might be happen. And if it does happen then it is a good idea to load up on cheap coins ;D

Current period is not the longest, but we are slowly getting there - BTC from February 14, 2017 and until March 18 was above $1000, so was only a month.
And then since March 27 until now we have again reached 'stability period'. Which can be the longest +$1000 period so far.

Another interesting fact - Bitcoin is +$900 since January 26, 2017.

Bitcoin staying above $900 is the interesting fact with bitcoin this year. This has helped users to profit high than regular earning as well profiting that users have been experiencing in the past years. I expect the price to stay above $1000 without falling down.

With prediction from all the pundits says that the price of bitcoin will have another bull run and seeing the price above eight hundred dollars for a long time suggest that the pundits are right and now i do expect that the lowest value it can get is around nine hundred dollars and that was not the case during 2016 .

Yes, now bitcoin will remain above $ 900 and I think it will last a long time. Obviously this is very profitable for the users bitcoin. But in last January, the price of bitcoin was under $ 800 and it last for days, and then the price continues to rise and is now back above $ 1,000. Maybe to fall under $ 800 again will take a while for months and I am sure now bitcoin will be over $ 900.

I don’t watch the price very closely but I don’t remember seeing the price below 800 since then, while this may seem useless trivia, the fact that bitcoin has sustained over that mark means that the trust in bitcoin is going up even if we had some difficult weeks.
