Title: Getting Verified
Post by: Rallye on April 12, 2013, 02:23:27 AM
Ok, so before you tell me not to use MtGox, please understand that I have signed up for more exchange accounts than I can fit on one hand, and none of them seem to make it easy enough to get funds to and from my account.  Right now, since I have Dwolla, mtgox is my best bet.  So anyways, Hi MtGox.  I have an ID, and I have plenty of documents with my address on them, but I don't have any electricity, phone, or rent bills as I am living with family and I pay my share of the bills in cash.  Is there any way I can still get verified?  Could I take a friends phone bill and just swap in my name?  Do they actually check the info you send them?  Obviously I would want to avoid doing something like that at all costs, but what are my options?

I think you just need the person listed on a proof-of-residence to sign the proof saying that you live there. But you should check with MtGox support to see if they still do this.

Also, they accept any of the following (mailed in the last 3 months) if they have your name and address:

- Monthly utility bill
- Internet Bill
- Cellphone Bill
- Tax Return document
- Residency Certificate
- Voting registration form
- Medical insurance
