Title: Cost of .bit domain? Post by: CptHook on June 15, 2011, 07:36:26 PM I can't wrap my head around this namecoin thing..
What I need to know is: - How much does it cost to register a .bit domain? - What is the upkeep on a .bit domain? - Can the price vary? If so, how much? - Can i trade USD -> NMC, or do i have to do USD -> BTC -> NMC? Hope you can answer some or all of the questions.. Thanks, CptHook Title: Re: Cost of .bit domain? Title: Re: Cost of .bit domain? Post by: tehcodez on June 15, 2011, 07:40:52 PM .bit registration price depends on current namecoin block. Price is currently 17.98 NC, and goes down with every passing block. Once a name is registered, its registered.

I am sure I read somewhere that a domain only lasts for 12000 blocks.. What does that mean, then? Title: Re: Cost of .bit domain? Post by: tehcodez on June 15, 2011, 08:10:48 PM After 12000 blocks, the name expires (all dns records have an expiration date, after which the record is not valid). It can be updated and reset; that costs .01 NC.
