Title: Getting $ on and off exchanges
Post by: checksum on April 12, 2013, 04:02:45 PM
So I'm new to the forums and I piddled around with BTC lately - made few hundred $ off the crash..but I have found it really tough to get $$ on-and-off the existing exchanges - many with so many hoops to jump through and fees but mostly - having to send $ to some "exchange partner" where you have to exchange at a different partner provider to eventually be able to deposit in a 'normal bank' or whatnot.

Is this by design (launderers using this a lot in the past?) or what's up?

Especially - what is the EASIEST & CHEAPEST way to get $ off of BTC-e?

I'm wondering the same thing... I've used coinbase.com, but they won't let me buy coins until the 17th! What easy ways exist to buy coins?

Personally I can buy coins immediately on the "major" exchanges (re:highest volumes here: http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/ )
Easiest is using Dwolla on Gox or Banks (in person dep) ACH-w/d on bitfloor.. things like that but:
other currency trading sites use OKPay or some russian thing where I have to click on ANOTHER screen with their "partners" to deposit $ on there with yet ANOTHER set of requirements - all with like % fees etc. to actually deposit $ to trade ONTO their exchange.

sux.

Is there no USA exchange that will just accept bank transfers? or credit cards? And if not, then why not?

bitfloor is the closest I've found to this.

Otherwise, this is my question precisely.

Transfer BTC to bitfloor.com and then do ACH withdrawl for better rate. Or use fastcash4bitcoins.com where the rate isn't quite as good.

Bitfloor doesn't like my browser. I guess they don't want my business. It must be nice to be so successful that you can pick and choose your customers.

What browsing are your using?  Works well in Firefox, but haven't tried in any others.  I usually have 2 or 3 browser installations to use in case some site doesn't play nicely.

And Bitfloor was down for awhile yesterday and today.
