Title: Hash / What!?!? Post by: Trongersoll on April 12, 2013, 07:44:34 PM everybody posts their Hash/sec numbers. i'd be just as interested in Hash/Watt numbers. the first give you the likelyhood that you'll find something. The second, some of the cost. ::)
Title: Re: Hash / What!?!? Post by: naphto on April 12, 2013, 07:46:48 PM Yes please let me know what is the cost of mining a bitcoin.
I'd like to buy at that price. Title: Re: Hash / What!?!? Post by: isnoop on April 12, 2013, 07:48:32 PM I can't provide you with the precise numbers, but I can say that when I ran a test with a laptop, I was getting 6,200 H/S and the battery was slowly draining even while charging on an 85 Watt power supply. ...so, at least 85 Watt/hours or 262KHWH (kilo-hash-watt-hours)
That sort of shenanigans is likely to burn up an $90 power supply in a few months so that should be factored into your net. Title: Re: Hash / What!?!? Post by: Kluge on April 12, 2013, 07:52:50 PM https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_Hardware_Comparison
Forum can provide you with 100s of people reporting $/Wh if you search, too. Title: Re: Hash / What!?!? Post by: nodesupply on April 12, 2013, 07:53:32 PM Kill a watt can help track the usage.
Use Killawatt to see what your rig draws and divide khash by that number. Title: Re: Hash / What!?!? Post by: Trongersoll on April 12, 2013, 07:55:01 PM i'm just curious because i'm trying to think outside the box. I'm going to build a rig to mine that should only draw about 40 Watts. Until i build it and get it running i will have no idea what it's hash rate will be. Otheres have probably tried this unsuccessfully and i'm wasting my time and money, but isn't that what hobbies do?
