About Pony Coin

Pony Coin [PNY] is a POW coin that turns into a POS coin. It is a scrypt thoroughbred.

PNY is a global payment system where you can send to anywhere instantly. It has low transaction fees. There are no banks and no middleman.

We are going to make riding the pony fun. We will drop hints and tips in posts around the thread, so you have to keep up to get the most out of your mining. You don't just get on your pony and ride, you have to make it giddyup.

Ponies are fair animals, and sometimes start slow. Low blocks are for 2 whole weeks then it goes into gallop. There is plenty of time to get your rig set up. Strap on those boots and climb in the saddle. Mining goes for 6 weeks total, then it goes into POS with bonus blocks for 4 weeks. There will be a secret for how to get your bonus blocks, so read the thread carefully every day. POW total coins will be 21,000,000 PNY, low block rewards will be 10,800 PNY. So even if you come back in 2 weeks to mine, you won't have missed much.

Rejections look normal for this coin from what I tell. In test net it rejects because of time stamping. I can never quite figure out how to fix, but when the diff goes up it doesn't matter much.

Pool will not work yet from all I have tried. I will get one figured out very soon. It's all I'm going to do for the next days. Once I have it figured out, I will share what I did.

That's right. Aside from that, this coin looks phony to me. I would suggest that u move this thread to a rubbish bin or relaunch it with a fresh name that's not connected to 1. PNY being PC GPU brand. 2. Little domestic horses. 3. Phony affairs and fraud.

Russian coin? lol. From the code it seems that it is a fair launch, no premine, no instamining. The downside is that it is launched by a newbie, usually not very credible. But the launch seems fair and reasonable.

Latest release will make for pool mining. The code had bug from PoS only coin that makes pool mining not work. I fixed it and will have pool after hard fork to new code. Hard fork will happen 25 Jan 2017 06:00:00 GMT. Look twice at fork time! That's not far away. Update right away. Anyone not on fork will get network IP ban and take 24 hr to get going again.

Strange PoS only source code requires also special pool. Pool will be live shortly after hard fork. I will post link to pool in this message as edit. Speaking of PoS, here is hint... For PoS bonus blocks put ridethewhitepony=1 in config.  ;)

As for exchanges, the pool was most important or only miners can solo mine.

I will work on exchange now. There are a few more days of small blocks, and maybe price can be high for a few coins on exchange. This pool problem was really hard. This is all I have been working on, hitting head against wall. I know everyone want exchange. I get lots of PMs. I don't ignore them, but we have to have pool or coin is complete washout.

That's good,that's the way to create support and to build a community,but not every one can mine so it's much better to create a faucet,the old ponycoin did not get into Yobit for some reason,I don't know if this has a chance to get into Yobit I hope it can.

Pool miners, if you are mining on pool you notice a little less payout than you expected right away. I am not taking fees. I set up pool for free to help coin. But what is happening is network transaction fees must be paid from mining. Pool software can handle this, but it does strange thing. It lowers payouts a little to cover fees then will mine those fees right back again. End result is miners get fees back in later payouts that were taken in earlier payouts. This just turns into accounting magic and end result is zero sum. Nothing lost, nothing gained, but you must mine a while to get all payouts and your first hashes go to earlier miners who mined out fees but didn't get them right away. It is like government running at deficit, but always paying debt over time and in small way unfair because of who is paying taxes when debt collector comes.

When block explorer goes up anyone will see that miners got all mining and transaction fees and pool took no payout. Main reason is pool can't take payout or it would take a lot of rework of PoS only coin code I started with, and didn't have time for that. Also pool fees are not too important for me. I just want to get coin off the ground for now.

I have miner on pool and for now will send enough rewards back to pool payment processor to cover transaction fees, so mining will be a little more fair for new miners.

Latest release is adjustment to POW schedule. POW period is shorter by a few days. Total POW reward is same (21 M) so no cut short of money supply, just small adjustment to schedule. Hard fork will happen at block 20,881. Current block is 15,352. That means fork time is about 8 days away on 2/19 some time in morning GMT time. Update by then or your client will do network ban and you must remove peers.dat from data directory and restart client to get back on main fork.

PS: I updated wallet this morning GMT for pool and there was a huge gap for 9 hour because I forgot to unlock it. I unlocked 1 hour ago (GMT 20:20) and payouts have gone out to catch everyone up. Anyone who asked by PM I have answered there too. Sorry for gap. Mining continued without problems.

Latest release is adjustment to PoS bonus block logic. Old logic had flaw. Read complete OP and follow all instructions with care to make sure your PoS works right. Fork happens on block 25920. This is coming up fast in 2 days 5 hours. If you don't update by then you will suffer network IP ban and wait 24 hr to get back on network.

U stole a symbol from a major gpu manufacturer. Ever heard of PNY corp? Legal implications of using someone else's ticker will be ur worst nightmare. Well aside from that theres a weird issue with connecting to nodes. When I hook up to existing peers I get a message saying that I have no privileges to mine / own PNY.
