In the 1960s, Government research birthed Arpanet, evolved to the modern Internet as we know it now In 2001, the NSA released standards for the SHA-256 cryptographic protocol In 2009, Bitcoin was given to the world. No, just the fact Bitcoin uses technology that the US Government originally funded and developed for their own ends. Bet they never thought this is what it would be used for in the future. Bitcoin won't destroy, but replace a dying system, hopefully. Well, that is true enough. The graph of total US debt started going straight up in the 70's when that occured. Maybe the better way to say it is they gave us the tools to fix it ourselves since obviously they cannot.
