Title: Where did my coins go?
Post by: opmal7 on April 13, 2013, 02:31:22 PM
So I had some money in Gox, and bought some coins.  Gox went down last night and I decided keeping my coins in my Gox account wasn't the safest option.  So I download Bitcoin Wallet for my smart phone and install the app.  I sent BTC0.01 from Gox to the smartphone wallet, just to make sure everything was working.  About 10 minutes later the BTC showed up on my phone...Great.  So I go ahead and send the remainder of the coins in my Gox account to the same address and wait.....That was nearly 8 hours ago and they haven't made it to my phone yet.

Is it possible for a transfer to take this long or did I screw something up?  I paid the BTC0.0005 tip for a "faster transaction."  I looked it up on blockchain and it said it has 69 confirms but I'm not sure what that means.

Try logging out then logging back in. That might help them show up. (I've seen it before.)

Use coinbase, it's easy to buy/sell BTC and transfer funds to a acct.

Put your bitcoin address (the one from your phone) to search bar on blockchain.info to see if the transaction ever happened. If it's not there, contact the Mt.Gox. If it's there, there is something wrong with your phone wallet. In this case you probably need to make a backup of private keys and play around a bit. Try to redownload the blockchain or reinstall the app & import the keys from backup.
