DOTA has never failed to be famous for how many years it has running in the gaming industry. It always amazed me how dota champions earn millions for being a Champion. IF ever bitcoin will be used in DOTA such as purchasing weapons for upgrades then that will be wonderful. That will signal another surge in bitcoins price. Hope it will come true the marriage of bitcoin and dota.

I like to play DOTA. But i stopped playing this game a couple of years ago. I remember i was playing warcraft lll. It was the old one. Im not that good at playing this game. Maybe you can find DOTA players heres because DOTA is very popular game these days. Now we have DOTA2. I haven't played it yet. But if bitcoin and DOTA merged together. That will be nice.

You could do it already since steam already accepted bitcoin on last year as far as i remember you could purchase steam credits which you could use on any steam games and even purchase games on their store but it seems it doesnt affect too much the price of bitcoin but its still good that bitcoin is already being adopted by steam.

I would like to play StarCraft {another Blizzard game} for Bitcoins for sure.  ;D .... It would be great to find non-professional

tournaments, where people could play for bitcoins. < 1 vs 1 > ... I know when I joined a league, we used to play for money in 1 vs 1

challenges, but this was not part of the game, and we hosted it on another platform.  ;D

Lol, this really crazy what would bitcoin do with dota? I'm not sure what, are we betting against each other when we play or something in the line of gambling? I'd be interested in playing with you guys if this would really push through. I miss playing DOTA 1, and I'd love to play again. This is like marrying two of the best things I love in this world. Looking forward to this! :D

Yesss! It is just like you say - 'This is like marrying two of the best things I love in this world.' for some people!

It will be real DotA 1 tournament like every Saturday every player gets in with $10/BTC and the teams play against each other and the winner team shares the whole stake from all other players (Think hundreds of USD in BTC).

If there are enough interested folks around here I can push the thing to start this Saturday evening GMT time so the folks from USA can join, not just in EU (Let's not forget the masters Asians).

So please reply with '+1 ........' to count on you to join and measure if it is worth it to organize all this...

Any ideas?

Oh so it's really a tournament like poker where you pool the money into the tournament and that would be the prize money for the whole tournament! I'm excited already! Please make some thread for it somewhere that would officially announce it! Let's see if we can make some teams over here. Probably what's nice is a random group so everybody who doesn't have buddies to play with can form a group. :)

This is a good idea. Do you think many will still play DOTA 1 or is it better to host a game in DOTA 2. I do not want to play dota 1 and hear people saying MAPHACK. I'll follow this thread and see if this can push thru. Maybe I'll just watch the games if this push through.

Yes exactly a tournament!

Where is the best place to announce it?

I guess the teams will be full with 5 strangers or friends from this forum :)

It will be DotA 1 AllStars Classic for starters and I should prepare the servers soon if there are players around here hehe

Just my concern:

How's will the players connect? I mean thru Battlenet, Garena client or something like that? Do you have a unique server? :O Most of the Dota1 hosting is not compatible with other internet service provider that's why other platform such as Garena have unique room for it. How about Rank Gaming Client? It still working up to today?

I think this thread is not appropriate here, maybe at Gambling Discussion or Gambling section. Im a Dota1 enthusiast and one of my favorite hobbies back in my "happy" days. Bring it on! Count me in.

Used to love dota. I started a thread a while ago about selling some items for Bitcoins, but nobody was interested in. Also, this could possibly be moved to the Other section? I don't know, just seems like videogames

are a pretty popular topic in there. Maybe you will get more responses in there.

Wow finally someone aware about such ideas! I will be join, I like dota, will invite my friends to join on the tournament too.

Firstly, it's should be in service announcement, I'm not really sure if it's count as gambling, because basically it's mandatory required skill to play not such bet on the house and luck to decided.
Second, how people can connect each other? You have a server? It's stable?
Third, the money hold in pot, so it's need 3rd party as escrow and mandatory person who have a good name in this forum.
Fourth, how the tournament works?

Yeah, I used to use garena for my DOTA1 games back then. Though I think this is only for South Easy Asian countries that means we'll be limiting the number of people that can join the tournament. I'm not very sure what's the best alternative. Probably hamachi? We'll let's have the organizers think about it. But truly, we are all excited!

Only problem I see with this is the absence of any kind of trustworthy ranking system. We used to have LAN sessions back in the day, and we had 2 semi-professionals playing against us. They wiped the floor with the competition and they always took the money pot.

The other people stopped playing, because they had no chance of winning any of the games. How will you match up players based on their skill levels to make this fair?  ^hmmmmmm^

I would like to join but it is dota 1 if there is a dota 2 online tournament that pays bitcoin? I very very love playing dota 2 im playing it already 7 years and now im very addicted to it many people says you can't earn money from dota but look other pro players earning million million dollars by just playing and enjoy in tournaments.

Title: Re: [DotA] Bitcoin Warcraft III DotA Players Ready for Tournaments Here?

Well the teams could be random so pros could be in one team with newbies hence it will be provably fair as much. Although life is not fair anyways hehe. It will be more for fun than a work or million dollar prizes at least at the beginning. After that if all is fine it could be developed with a ranking system but this might be useless in terms of randomness...

What do you guys think or prefer?

I guess i just have to launch it and see as we are like two teams here already hehe

I think we can make us of hamachi for this to connect to each other. Or can anyone suggest something that would allow us to connect our LANs together wherever we are. Unless everybody playing is in south east asia then we can just use garena and play together there. What do you guys think?

I think South East Asians Servers needs to be compatible with their Internet Service Provider per location or region that's why only local games are mostly played in Garena. I don't also think Battlenet itself in DoTa will be helpful. I think Ranked Gaming Client can considered here since they are allowing every internet service provider in their client. Just don't know if today it's still operating or not.

Never heard of Hamachi.

I though this tournament would be on Dota 2 on steam but as i have read it would be on dota 1 seems to difficult for me now because ive got used to play on dota2 for years now.I just want to know about the PING  problems since members on this forum is international,i want to know regarding on this matter.

may I ask why dota is the preferred tournament you wanna start? I guess it is much better to use dota 2 rather than the old version but its your tournament I dont have anything to say to that. I just see the best and easiest way to have a dota tournament is to use dota 2 because people who play dota now is playing dota 2 and mostly it is easy to create a lobby and supposedly the "PING" problem.

RGC will be the good platform for this tournament, I think this post is good to be at Service Announcement or Services section or Gambling section, I can't figure out what will be the best section for your tournament. How you are going to cope up with teams? 1 member here + 4 of his friends to make a team or 5 members here and will be shuffled? "Time to go!".

I see, I didn't know garena has some sort of ISP problems. I usually play there, even till now, with my friends who are within the south east asia area like singapore and malaysia. We haven't encountered much problems with it. Regards hamachi, it is a program that links our networks like we are in the same Local Area Network (LAN). Which is nice because Warcraft III uses only LAN.

Lol!  ;D Connecting on hamachi is very lag and you can't play well they need a good server for the players that connects in different countries the tournament is useless if they use bad servers it needs to be smooth playing.

I am thankful for this information, my friends are very addicted to DOTA ever since it was created up to this time. But what I want really to expect to happen is that the prices for DOTA tournament will be in the form of bitcoins. In that way DOTA will gain and also the bitcoin community.

If your gonna play with dota towards tournament that would be cool and bitcoin would be the main transaction that players wants to urge to get by playing it, but is it gonna be called as gambling aswell? Because they would gonna win or even lose with it, but there are a thread here that allows you to bet on a dota match even in a tournament game I would  search for it and  share it with you guys.

Yes that would be a very good way to earn bitcoins compared to boring board games and casual games that also pay small btc. A firsperson shooter or car racing game with bitcoin prizes would be good too.

Firstly yes this should be in ga!bling and secondly and most important of all..

Why play dota? There is dota 2 and lol or hon to play.
Warcraft 3 dota is easy to use a maphack. I hear talk of garena and hamatchi. Not are easy to hack. What protection do you habe against this ? I can see only one reason to use Warcraft 3 dpts and that is to cheat.

I haven't played dota 1 for a long time. Does it have a reconnect feature like dota 2? I remember it was a big problem of the old dota that when someone from your team lost connection he couldn't go back into the game and your team was screwed. If you're playing for money a connection issue can hurt the whole team pretty bad and this will happen if you're playing EU vs USA.

2. BUY A TICKET TO PLAY ON THE NEXT WARCRAFT III DotA TOURNAMENT ==> how much per 1 ticket?
5. PLAY AT THE TOURNAMENT: when will it open? is it fixed time?
6. RECEIVE BITCOINS IF WON : if I was disconnected and my team still win , does I receive bitcoin?

i would be more interested in starcraft. if anything there is something like this coming for starcraft?

and i would suggest a low entry payment for the final price, would attract more people to play, you can arrange something with teamliquid

Hi guys,

Good to see you here.

There is a solution for any problem.

1. The players will connect in a private chatroom - http://bitcoindota.com/

2. The games will be hosted by lagabuse GHOST++ , Tunngle

3. AntimaphackShield.exe will be required

4. There will be a newbie league $10 ticket and a pro league $100 ticket and the winner team wins and shares the pool's stake of the total amount of Bitcoins (Total/5 for each player). Bblockchain.info or other online 'Secure' wallet will be used.

5. Newbie league will consist of random teams and pro league will consist of real teams if there are any.

6. A test game is planned for this Saturday - 25 February around 20:00 GMT - so GET READY TO PLAY!

7. I would participate as OBSERVER arbiter

8. RECEIVE BITCOINS IF WON : if I was disconnected and my team still win , does I receive bitcoin?' - Yes!

Let me know if there is something else?

Did you guys register already?

http://bitcoindota.com/

==> SHARE THIS TO GET MORE PLAYERS AND BITCOINS (Hopefully)!

Ever since Dota became a famous game in the whole world, And the other business created a tournament  for it. And because of that many of dota player all around the world are became more interested to play with that game. But it is much good to know if someday while playing dota every time you defeat the home base of the opponents there is a bitcoin reward to be given. ;D
I guess this things happen in the near future.

I think dota 2 will be better and we can create quickly more lobbies and chat faster. You can create tournaments in Dota 2 and that is so easy. But I think the tournament is in order and I dont have any shops that warcraft III is available. Damn cant participate.
Ohh, and another thing, you didnt discussed the information of the map. It must be an official map, and must be a recent release of that certain map no bugs and stuffs. What heroes are banned because there are still heroes banned in a tournament.

Good idea and this has been already for 1 month ago and it looks like it didn't succeed wishing that this time it would be successful.

If ever this first trial of your tourney will be successful try to consider other games such as CS;GO , LOL and Dota 2.

Maybe this can bring you success for being an organizer.
