Title: Paper Trading bitcoin
Post by: ezl on June 16, 2011, 04:07:48 AM
My friend and I are working on a platform for paper trading so traders can test their strategies.

http://hellobitcoin.com

Still a lot of half baked features, but I think the core functionality is there and we'd like to get some feedback.

What would really be cool is to have historical data to test trading strategies against...I'm sure it's available for mature securities markets for a pretty penny but Bitcoin has some uniqueness in the external factors that affect price. External data like gold price, difficulty, network hashrate, video card prices, etc might also help develop more sophisticated trading strategies.

Just wanna say that I love the design and the implementation of the price ladder.
Been working on something similar myself but not for the web  :-*
The confirmations for the trades would be better at the bottom though, also a display of your current active orders / positions on the trade site. But I guess you are already working on that.

Thanks Dutt.  At first this started because i wanted a visual price ladder, then it sort of cascaded.

Working on a lot of features for it, including short-selling, and historical portfolio value (so you can see if you're winning/losing over time)
