Title: Ever increasing length of the chain vs Internetspeed
Post by: BNO on April 16, 2013, 04:41:37 PM
If you assume that the blockchain of bitcoins is growing at a larger rate than the Speed of your internetconnection. Will there be a point in time where it takes so long to set up the
original client not it is no longer practical to use it. How to avoid this?

Maybe Introducing a "Cutoffpoint" in the protocoll to say i. e. All transactions before the point of X in time a re now considered to be legit and be excluded from the blockchain to make loading times faster? Could this be done in the protocoll?
