Title: Etherum Price not affected by etherum Projects?
Post by: Rivo on February 12, 2017, 07:27:41 AM
Hi guys. I m new here. I have a question.. Everyday in the news we hear about a platform or project or even currency is built on etherum. One would expect Etherum price as result will shoot. But it is moving very slowly, regardless of whatever project is using etherum. Any explaintion ? ???

News is not enough even how interesting is that. It will depend on the communities feedback about the certain good news. If they think it's worth a shot to invest again at ETH then that's is only the time we can see an active volumes at regular basis.

And right now, bitcoin price is continously increasing and establishing a good stand at it's current price that's why you can't see some actions now in other altcoin which is the usual happenings since then.

it does shoot up because of the news of a new platform or project but it is usually too small or is also shut down by the dump that you can not notice the price change.
in the end as my top comment suggests, it is bitcoin price movement. it has been so volatile lately that has taken all the attention of the investors to itself. and when investors take their money out of altcoins markets they either crash down or manipulators put up buy walls (like ethereum) and prevent the crash.

if dev built coin use ethereum token, i think is not ethereum project is diference
and ethereum price not affected to many project ethereum token, example ethereum price not affect about iconomi price (iconomi coin is suuces ico selling until reach 10 million dollar and develop use ethereum token)

When projects on ethereum platform take off then maybe the price rise big. But it's too early and too many questions unanswered about ethereum yet.

Bitcoin has over shadow all others coins. I have reasons along your thinking before and what your observed was a great observation. Every day we hard different types of Etherum project and good news from Asia, Europe but the price remained were it is. Another thing I have observed is that any news concerning blockchain, fluctuate bitcoin prices, this is a sign that bitcoin has dominate others altcoins including Etherum.

Sometimes I have seen that a coin is boosted when the ICO project accepts this coin as an investment regarding only through bitcoin.

So it is with ethereum, lisk or waves. In incent there was used waves and as far as I know the price changed a bit, so it should be with others too.

Movement Ethereum's price can be called stable between $10 up to $11
although there are many projects be builded on ethereum blockchain,
if you are traders you can open buy on $10 sell on $11,
I think it is enough for taking profit from trading ethereum
but if you want get big profit I think you must hold ethereum for long time.

The token has built on the ethereum platform will never give anything to the ethereum itself, and the ethereum has depended on the ethereum development itself.

The development just give an impact to the price of ethereum itself.

I was surprised that the news around the Microsoft led Ethereum group didn't hike the price at all.

Any thoughts?

The price already went up due to these projects.  The fact that the first major project badly failed seems like it should have a more long lasting effect on the price!
Will banks and microsoft really start using smart contracts for real money, when the DAO was cracked in a few days and needed a hard fork to save Ether?

How many hard forks will they need to keep all the new projects running smoothly?  I would wait and see before assuming that good prospects become actual good projects,

Actually people have bad memory of DAO still in their mind so they are not easily convinced to invest into any of the ethereum based projects or ICO. So demand for ETH is almost constant and it only get some momentum whenever there is some dump in bitcoin price.  ;)

I agree with you, that is one of other reason why ETH price is stable.
I think it is good for trading on ETH and taking profit although just small profit,
but it will become high profit if we can get constant profit from trading ethereum.

Well because the bailout of DAO and made hard forked ethereum network had been untrust on every token be builded on ethereum network, I think it is normal the investors are becareful to something new projects be builded on ethereum network but right now ETH price was increasing up to $12, so right now there is impact to ethereum's price.

Ethereum's Microsoft hype was over, it made eth from 0.0015btc to 0.035 btc, so what do you desire more? It was insane pump, so many miners got wealthy, and more bitcoin.

ETH's second ATH was caused by DAO, therefore buy support will give ETH high price, demands decide the price.

Ethereum's projects are built upon ethereum platform, relying on the platform's underlying infrastructure. It is not about the platform  getting improved when new projects come out. So most of the time ethereum's price wouldn't be impacted.

Ethereums price is already this high because of the promise and anticipation these projects provided before.

One event cannot sustainably impact the price multiple times, more is required for that. Ethereum has to prove that it can live up to all expectation before it can climb further.

Priced in, as they tend to say. And what goes up does come down again. Third factor beeing daily new ETH emission, as in "inflation". 15$ would make a good selling opportunity, regardless of how Bitcoin moves in the meantime.
