Can anyone tell me please what settings to use on Gigabyte GA-Z270-Gaming K3 in order to work with 6 GPUs ?I tried and when I plug 6th card it would not start, not even to bios, looks like there is not enough power to PCI-e slots, and there must be some bios settings. Any ideeas ? I am trying for hours :/ Thanks. Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: alred911 on January 22, 2018, 01:06:54 AM haha

Helped a friend setup a 6x GPU rig with this board. Worked perfect right off the bat. Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: adrianTNT on January 22, 2018, 01:38:10 AM Did you need to plug that extra power connector in top of the PCI slots ? I don't have that :/
Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: winmon on January 22, 2018, 01:44:32 AM isn't the graphics card much more important than which mb you use for mining? (Unless you need something like 6 slots for cards, or something unusual like that.)
Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: jillscarbrough on January 22, 2018, 03:58:00 AM has 6xVGA slot:
-Gigabyte H110-D3A LGA 1150 -Biostar TB250-BTC -MSI Z170A -MSI Z270 Gaming M7 -Asus Prime Z270-P - Asus Prime H270-PLUS hopefully, available in your country Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: sundownz on January 22, 2018, 12:21:06 PM isn't the graphics card much more important than which mb you use for mining? (Unless you need something like 6 slots for cards, or something unusual like that.) Yes you are correct. The Motherboard is *generally* only a factor for how *many* cards you can run. Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: adrianTNT on January 22, 2018, 12:37:34 PM isn't the graphics card much more important than which mb you use for mining? [...] Yes you are correct. The Motherboard is *generally* only a factor for how *many* cards you can run. Some motherboards fail to keep all cards connected, some need special drivers in windows, some need you to disable the onboard GPU and plug the monitor cable to one of the cards, etc. Some motherboards like ASUS B250 mining expert has 18/19 GPU slots but you need to mix certain Nvidia and certain AMD cards in certain slots, annoying. Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: adrianTNT on January 22, 2018, 12:45:13 PM Can anyone tell me please what settings to use on Gigabyte GA-Z270-Gaming K3 in order to work with 6 GPUs ? Replying to my own question in case someone bumps into same issue:I tried and when I plug 6th card it would not start, not even to bios, looks like there is not enough power to PCI-e slots, and there must be some bios settings. Any ideeas ? I am trying for hours :/ Thanks. The Gigabyte GA-Z270-Gaming K3 will only start with 6 cards if you - update bios from their site but not with latest version but a special "mining" bios version for this card, that is found in a different area of the site (mining mini-site). - disable onboard GPU and make it start with PCI 1 by default - install OS and only then connect the other 5 cards (6 total). - with 6 cards you will only get video signal once it boots into windows 10 and you cannot "see" the bios/startup with 6 cards ?! Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: sundownz on January 22, 2018, 07:19:34 PM Did you need to plug that extra power connector in top of the PCI slots ? I don't have that :/ It has 2x 4-pin MOLEX plugs for PCI-E power and we did plug them both in. Title: Re: GPU Mining Motherboard Post by: spodo on January 27, 2018, 01:41:22 AM good motheboard is ASUS PRIME Z270-P .

Where is it verified to run 6 gpus? I can only get it to boot with 6 if I disable igpu. And even then it reboots once you start m8n8ng. |
